+ 1 What Kind of Bed Mattress do you have?
Yes its that time again, another one of Press's highly relevant Steroid Forum Posts!! LMAO
Well it is kind of, since we absolutely rely on good quality Sleep and Rest if we are to get anywhere in building muscle.
I am one of those lazy arses who tends not to change things until its last chance saloon and the thing is falling to pieces before my very eyes. The last time I changed my mattress was about 15 years ago Plus, and we are at the state of random Bed springs protruding into my back and all kinds of unspeakable places Lol I can literally lay there and hear them popping and snapping underneath me.
Its so fucked in the middle that it literally dips right down like the bed is bloody angled up at either end like motorized beds in hospitals, and I'm almost falling out the side onto the floor.
So my last mattress was a Silent Night Miracoil Standard Kingsize all those years back.
Been looking online at all the different styles and I am totally lost in what;s best for a Side Sleeper - We have Pocket Springs, Normal Coiled Springs, Memory Foam, Reflex Foam, Hybrids, Natural Filling etc
Then there is the Firmness - Soft, Medium, Medium Firm, Firm and Extra Firm (Oooh Err Vicar!!!)
From all I have read it says a Medium mattress, Pocket sprung with Memory Foam is a good choice ....
So as I am lost in the Abyss, what does everyone else use here for guys above 200lbs and preferably side sleepers?

Nothing cheap anymore.. unfortunately.
Is the mattress actually buggered though mate or is she just being a woman wanting a new one anyway?
Im fine on it buts its 7+ years old. Could be why my hip hurts when on my side but damn that TV is cheap right now and will take the whole wall up. Mines a pillow top also so downside is you cant flip it over and get double life. Pillow tops you can only beat on one side and thats its. Not sure if a flippable mattress is better for life span
King memory foam something or other from Nebraska furniture mart. Was expensive AF and now that it's broken in its got hard and soft spots -dont recommend.
I don't think I've ever slept on a memory foam mattress, I do wonder though when you turn over to the other side does it not feel uncomfortable at first with the foam having moulded to your shape where you have been laid before?
Yes it does that exactly. You end up sleeping in like a hole of sorts. Then you roll over (out of the hole you're sleeping in) and it just feels wonky. When they are new they are awesome. They rebound super quick and feel firm and soft at the same time. After a few years tho..
So is your purely memory foam with no springs? A lot of them now seem to have springs underneath then a few inches of foam on the top? Also some I see have 800 pocket springs where as others are 2500 - does this really feel different?
Yeah it's literally a giant block of memory foam. Weighs a ton. I mean, there MIGHT be some other shit inside there, but to the best of my knowledge 100% foam.
I would imagine you would get better longevity out of the ones you're mentioning with springs and foam.
You could always treat yourself to a swanky hotel for a night and trade beds with the place.
You can literally buy the Mattresess that the specific Hotels over here use - There is a Premier Inn mattress thats about £800 Lol There are a few bed places near to me so I may go in and have a lay around and try some mattresses out Lmao
Fuck yeah. Check in under @Greg 's name and just toboggan that shit down the stairs into your trolley
King size pillow top medium. It was expensive but ive destroyed many beds when its romper room time so i went with quality. Think its stearns n fosters. Side sleeping for me has only been super comfy on a waterbed. But for a mattress....this ones pretty good!
Can you remember what you paid for it bud - not sure how much a decent one is supposed to cost?
If memory serves about 2k.
