I've heard those English beans are different then the merican ones. Less sweet. Been tempted to buy some on Amazon, but then I wonder "why the f*** am I doing this?"
Ultimately all they really are is beans in a mild tomatoe sauce, nothing amazing - but they do go well with many other things as a side. Loads of people just eat them on their own on top of toast as its a very cheap meal and was popular during the War Lol I hated that meal as a kid and my parents would cook it all the time. Now they make them in many different sauces - Baked beans in Tikka / BBQ / Mexican / Cheesy / Peri Peri sauce etc.
Tell ya what, I’ll give it a try. Is there any specific brand available in the U.S. you’d recommend to be comparable to what you’re eating over there? Most of ours are pretty well seasoned…
You need to go to one of those strores that imports foreign foods, they will defo have them in there like the Heinz ones. You bought Colemans English mustard before didn't you?
Yes, I’ve had that. There was an international delicatessen near me that closed, and it was awesome. There’s a couple other markets that have specialties though. So just Heinz plain beans? Would it be sacrilegious to add some black pepper or hot sauce?
My wife has a recipe where she uses a few different beans, brown sugar, bacon, mustard, and some other shit, I can eat a whole bucket of them. Funny how we all have our dishes, I make a mean broccoli salad amongst other things…
You’re on to something…
Press’s English beans
Greg’s Famous cowboy ribeye
Jockstraps southern style hot dogs @Forehead Polish golumpki
The list goes on and on…
Not yet lol. My ancestors were brought over from France to work as indentured servants for the French aristocracy in Canada, when that practice started falling apart and was ultimately outlawed, they immigrated to the United States. We all come from somewhere else, that’s the story of Drexyls bloodline lol. I may or may not know someone with a job in Virginia who has some access (wink wink) and did a genealogy timeline for my family…
Surprised you were able to get that. I knew you had some frank blood in you. When that tigriuce guy came in and i was fucking with him talking shit. You were speaking french to him. Lol
Half my family is from Germany. My great grandmother lived in the border of Germany of France, which is obv now France thanks to this country an hitlers dumb ass, before world War 1 and he father spoke French anyway French soldiers were going around knocking on doors talking to people. And she told us that story when we were little in her German accent of how scared she was because she had no idea what they were saying and they were dressed in uniform.
I do like history allot though. Especially European. Back to Rome and Greece. Constantinople, Alexandria. To Charlemagne the great. All facinating.
That actually looks pretty good and I will dare and say it's probably better than the American version which is filled with horrible tasting candy and is given away on Christmas as a gift. I assume is a way of saying: "I hate you eat shit". There's no way of eating that with a straight face.
Edit: Oh fuck, I just learned that cake is English too! Lmao
Not sure I’ve ever heard any American in a restaurant say “Mmm, I’ll have the jellied eels and spotted dick please, could I have a side order of bubble and squeak with mushy peas?”.
I'd tear that up with one dick tied behind my back.
Lol
... well..... I WAS about to get a snack....
lol savage, but to be fair I’d give it a go
I'll eat fried fish and potatoes..... just keep those fuckin beans away from me. Lol
Looks good, but I would be all farts for a week straight
Heinz baked beans are great pal - I had them this morning with chicken tikka samosas again.
How anyone can have a fried breakfast with no baked beans sickens me .....

You can put whatever you want with them, they go with virtually anything - definately not with mayonnaise though Lol

The Hessians helped you give us our freedom also lol
Damn Nazis - thats probably how you managed it!!
We owe more to the French.
