+ 1 Getting Back On The Saddle-Knee Pain Limiting Exercises
Hey everybody!
I have recently been struggling with continuing the workouts I enjoy and have used most of my life. I was injured during my last year of college football and now have a mostly metal right knee. I was addicted to opioids as a result and am now over a year clean so painkillers past Advil are not a feasible option. Do not enjoy steroid shots either.
Sitting at approx. 6’4 250lbs. Feel as if I’m too young to feel hindered by my body especially when it comes to something as simple as hiking trails… can be a little hit to the ego. Upping to 300/wk Test E from my TRT dose and eating in a slight deficit to get these excess pounds off.
Really I’m asking if y’all have experienced similar and/or can recommend different exercises, PT suggestions, supplements for ligaments/pain/cartilage or anything else!
So happy to be back in this community and talking with y’all again! Have a great day.

My joints are also bolloxed. If you have issues and have health insurance, get an mri to know exactly where you are at (and what to work on).
For me, losing weight, lightening up the lifts (zero ego lifts anymore, zero), strengthening neglected shit like hammys, and swimming have helped.
A.R.T. for soft tissue helps break up muscular and facial scar tissues that cause ligament/tendon issues, most important for relief.
Some shit can be relieved, some shit can be worked on. If you actually have cartilage issues, depending on how severe, stem cells can help to a degree.
Gotta get the mri, as do I. I might do a post on it when I do, in the old man section.
anvilThe best thing maybe to drop weight and make your goal to be like 235 super lean. I'm not sure how long ago your injury was but took me about 5 years to feel normal after I was tackled broke my ankle , before it was normal. Also 20 minutes of core /stretching every single day may help. My son is playing high school varsity now and we focus a lot on being flexible . GH and anavar helped healing tendons if you have issues there.
Some of the best times of my life and truly instilled morales I live by today. I don’t regret it at all, and if your kiddo has the opportunity college ball is worth it just for the meal plan/housing/experience alone. I have done some GH to help recovery from surgery in the past. I have some TB500 headed my way, and my throw in some low dose var on this T cycle to see the mentioned tendon healing. I think once you have foreign objects in your body it’s never going to feel “100%” again- It’s a struggle when you can’t even hike the same trails you did for years and years effortlessly.
I keep telling myself to look into these peptides. Man Smurf how far we've come. I also played D1 ball like you. I think we talked about that in the past
anvilAbsolutely, I played semi pro ball and he definitely should get some d3 offers depending how much he grows , and he's excited to play. If you check vigorous Steve's yt he has a video dedicated to tendon healing and tb500 bpc157 deep dive and how to use them. Good luck brother.
Knees are my big problem too, I’m hoping others can jump in and give more info. I’m 38 and all my damage was done by soccer early on, then skateboarding and bmx for 15 years. Sprained each ankle a dozen times, dislocated both knees so many damn times each, shattered tin/fib once(almost compound), broke 5th and 6 metatarsal in left foot, had Os’good Shlotters growing up which was insanely painful.
Yesterday at the gym I started trying legs again; upright leg press, pendulum leg press, no plates and it felt like my knees where going to explode apart when I got low in the motion so I just stuck to laying leg press and lunges. I’ve been walking backwards inclined on treadmill to try to strengthen the muscles around that area, seems to help.
There’s different compounds like bpc157 and tb500 that I hear help with joints. They say hgh can help too with certain things. On the other hand, there’s compounds that’ll cause joint pain so you have to be aware of that. I’m rather new to a lot of the different compounds but I’m looking forward to trying all of them at some point.
What's your overall goal? BPC -157 with TB500 would be good peptides for ligaments as it increases blood flow to injured areas.
I’ve been super curious about both of those! Do you have any experience or advice with beginning peptides? I have done HGH after a surgery to experiment with healing properties, but I have yet to try either of those.
Recomp really. Lose around 10 lbs of fat and get back some muscle that I previously had. Planning on taking it slow and going from there.
I will be taking BPC-157 and TB500 for the first time this week. I've had lingering tendinitis and researching has led me to those two peptides. My plan is to take them 5 days a week for 30 days. I've never done them before.
I will be following along with your progress if you’d keep me updated I’d truly appreciate it! No concerns about stacking them at the same time without trying either alone first? I have some TB500 headed my way now.
I did some ultrasound therapy last night and started the BPC157/TB500 this morning. I'm sure it'll take at least a week daily for true progress at 400mcg daily. After one week I will continue with every other day staying at 400mcg/shot. I'll also do the ultrasound therapy once a week, it's free so I will take what I can get.
Thanks for keeping me updated brother! Wishing you the best and interested to follow along. 400mcg combined? What are you dosing each at?
It's all in the same vial, 5 mg of each. The 400mcg is the combined amount.
Oh wow that’s awesome! If you wouldn’t mind DMing me I would love to know about this mix as it’d save me some mixing and reconstituting!
Friend request sent so I can DM you.
Apologies it’s been a while haha, accepted!
I dislocated my shoulder when throwing a disc. It was a nagging injury for 2 years. 6 weeks of BPC 157 fixed it. Only downside is that stimulants stopped working. Caffeine did nothing for me. And adderall stopped working. I no longer take adderall, but still. I have read that others experienced the same thing.
Very interesting! I took Concerta (Extended released Ritalin) for years for ADHD, but have been away from it for 5 years now. Will be interested in seeing how it impacts the effects from caffeine as I still use that pwo and on slow mornings.
Such a nasty medication , I was on it as a kid, felt cracked out with zero Euphoria, I think actual Ritalin worked better.
There’s way better stimulants but stim free is the way, DMAA works nice with caffiene, theacrine with caffiene is almost as good and really I don’t build tolerance to the caffeine when I took Theacrine,
Lethargy is not a side effect of anything I take/have
Man I still wonder how my emotional IQ is stunted from the years of that, but it turned me into the sick fuck I am today so I guess I can’t complain lol!
Yeah bro, ADHD medications cause some serious issues. I got off adderall because it almost ruined so many relationships for me. I am an ICU Nurse, and most pharmacists I know would not give it to there kids.
Losing caffeine for a few weeks was worth it with the results that BPC157 gave me. It also made it so I no longer have to take antacids. Which is an added bonus. Had stomach issues for years!
Okay this is a really weird issue none of my docs have ever been able to treat with me… I have to take antacids almost daily. I wake up almost guaranteed daily throwing up because of such a high bile production no matter my eating/drinking habits. I try to chug water/baking soda or a base to neutralize it before it comes up every morning as I’m sure the long term throat damage is already there. They’ve guessed Every man’s disease, overactive organs, so many guesses, exams, tests, tries with meds, and still haven't found a true fix. If it does anything to even slightly remedy that issue I would be forever grateful.
On the topic of ADHD meds- I completely agree man. Way too many kids that are just being damn kids get put on that shit!!
Could be an ulcer man. That's what it probably was for me since the BPC 157 fixed it. I took pepcid for 10 years and had to take tums before any sort of cheat meal.
Arimidex also decreases acid production in the stomach. Vigerous Steve has gone in depth on that!
Have had cams. No ulcers and labs have always been healthy. I wouldn’t be surprised if stuff has popped up as a result of it though. Definitely worth trying for the original issue anyways!
Can’t go to Costco/walmart and get some cheap Nexium
Brother… I wish Nexium did anything to touch it haha! Have tried so many buckets of meds I just stopped and deal with it. They can’t legitimately tell me anything is wrong, can’t see anything whether physical or through labs, and the meds never did enough to warrant the cost. I am also aging and starting to feel slightly less invincible as I start to notice these aches and pains. Don’t get me wrong I would prefer to nip something in the bud than let it continue, but I have exhausted reasonable options.
I won’t hold you because there’s been times where I took Zantac and it didn’t touch the indigestion from winstrol or some batches of Tren it’s more noticeable, comes in waves and droves nothing besides toothaches and backaches just kill the mojo than what you been going through.. especially at night when it’s hard enough to sleep already
From the research I have done, they are a great complement to one another. It's referred to as the "Wolverine Stack" for healing and repair. YouTube has tons of videos about this stack
