ad

Right guys just come out of an op for Sub acromial compression + shoulder arthritis 4mm off the bone and bicep rupture they removed a bit of the tendon, anyone had similar or experience with this, just curious on recovery time.

Hey man, I literally just ordered a blend. I’d like to know what brand you’re thinking of going with. I’m shopping a fr over.

Forged's picture

Sorry dude can't discuss brands in forums

Guys I am finally gonna take the plunge and do bpc157 and tb500, I had the surgery, the physio messed up my exercises so f##d my recovery, and it is depressing how much size and strength I have lost and now matter how much time I take off I still have mad pain,

My question is subq or IM, am seeing a lot of different opinions and im not getting any younger,

What you guys recon is better?

Forged's picture

Right guys bit of an update, and thanks for the support btw, so one if the original exercise the physio gave me has made it worse and its inflamed again, idiots I told them it was hurting and then they o yeah it's this exercise, so not done it for a while, but answer this, every time I don't go to the gym or if I have more time off the gym it's hurts more...

press1's picture

I've had that type of thing before with tendon injuries - it seems to stiffen up and hurt more in training when not used, where as when you keep it exercised and stretched its much better.

Forged's picture

Dude have you ever had wet cupping done, as am thinking of getting it done on my shoulder, as the stupid physio kept me doing a exercise that i told her was cause me pain and had made it worse.

I had a full bicep rupture tendon detached from the top. I was only preacher curling 20kg dumbbells at the time and I normally work up to 32kgs so I was surprised when it went. Tendon rolled up and sat on top of bicep like a knot and bicep sat low and to the side. Had surgery to reattach it and the specialist said 12 weeks before I could train light again and be 6months to a year before I was able to train heavy again. I was mid cycle when it happened and after surgery I was going to the gym still but not training just supporting my training partner spotting him. I felt good after a week I started trading light after 3 weeks and gradually worked back up and got my confidence back in the bicep I detached. I would say probably 12 weeks maybe 14 I was absolutely fine lifting heavy again and it not bothering me at all apart from mentally, I was cautious and a bit worried about training that put pressure on that tendon.. I still won’t preacher curl and I’m about 10 months post op but honestly feel great and fully recovered. I think staying on cycle through the whole process speeded up recovery.

Wishing you a speedy recovery mate. Have also had serious knee injury with two ops and crutches for months. Never thought I’d walk the same let alone train, now a few years down the line I’m squatting and deadlifting heavier than ever. If you haven’t already, watch Unbroken about Calum Von Moger on Netflix for a bit of motivation.

press1's picture

Damn bud never knew you had knee surgery before.

RobertB80's picture

Two torn ligaments. Had to repair them and trim cartilage twice. Took two years for knee to straighten out. Even now it’s not quite right. Upside is tear drop on same leg has reaped the benefits! Downside is it’s a struggle to get symmetry and has also thrown hips and back slightly out of alignment.

press1's picture

So was the knee injury down to lifting weights or something else?

RobertB80's picture

Something else mate. Was not lifting at the time. If I had been that injury would never have happened. Such is life.

14 days since the op and another bottle of morphine of the doc, I must say the internal pain on the bone is the worst, they want me not to use the sling but it's horrendous without it

press1's picture

Try and keep your head up bud, I am sure its easier said than done but just remind yourself that this won't be forever. Try and take up another hobby maybe or join a club of some kind of interest. Do things that are a little different for a while to take your mind away from not training, and view the day in a different way and setting Smile

I'm back at work atm bro ,but not doing much, I kno what catalyst means, missus has to cut all my food up like I'm a baby

press1's picture

Its amazing what we all take for granted when everything is working fine, it really is. When you are injured all you want is to be 'normal' again, then when we are fine and healthy all we want is to 'be better than we are' Lol Can never win .....

press1's picture

Or how about inviting @Catalyst round for some 'BBQ & Bitches' in sunny Old USA as seen as our weather over here is so shit and depressing atm??!! Lol

Catalyst's picture

BBQ? As long as someone cuts my food up. Bit of an issue at the moment with my arm in a sling……

press1's picture

Blimey is it really that restricted? This is the idea of having some bitches there bro, they can do all that for you and more lol Have you been able to do any leg presses or anything or has gym totally been off the cards for the time being?

Forged's picture

It's bad on restriction, I'm but bad ad my work is not even a mile down road so take it out of sling to drive to work, lucky the car is auto and has an arm rest

Catalyst's picture

Trained legs twice this week. Very restricted, surgeon doesn’t want me holding anything in that hand, nothing whatsoever.

Forged's picture

I'm going back in month and half then starting on legs and maybe abs if can manage it, am hopeful can start back on upper body 4 months from op date

Dragoon's picture

I have tore my right bicep tendon and it was about 2 months before i started to lift again. I had full movment of it at 3 week post op. As well tore my rotor cuff 14 mm tear that took me almost 6 moths before and real weight. Bpc-157 could help in recovery. I did notice right bicep is a bit stronger since repair.

Forged's picture

I should be doing bpc157 and tb500 to help it repiar

Catalyst's picture

We have matching holes in shoulders……

Forged's picture

You had similar op do either dude?

Catalyst's picture

Labrum tear repair, left shoulder 12 days ago..

Wishing you a speedy recovery mate.

Forged's picture

Ouch, when you starting physio dude, they making me wait tell me 13/11 for mine

Catalyst's picture

Immobilised for 6 weeks, so will be similar date to you.

Forged's picture

Dude it's not fun, I'm gonna start legs 8 weeks from op date and hopefully another 8 weeks on top of that I should be able to start training again but taking it slow

Catalyst's picture

No it’s not. This is the 5th piece of shoulder surgery I’ve had over the last 14 years and it’s soul destroying being kept out of the gym. I’m hoping things go well with your recovery. Drop me a line if you want to chat, advice etc. unfortunately I’ve gained a fair bit of knowledge about shoulder surgery by now lol.

Forged's picture

Will do dude, unfortunately I've run out of morphine now so no more good nights sleep lol

Greg's picture

Make a tea...

Forged's picture

Now that plus edibles is something I can get lol, my partner said the edibles helped her chronic migranes which she has script meds for

Forged's picture

Day 6 just aching and using arm a bit more just trying not to move shoulder, the opiate not helping as getting constipated a lot now

Forged's picture

Day 5, no real update other than my arm is aching and feeling really spaced out with all the meds, bit more mobility in arm movement but shoulder is still restricted without getting to much pain

Forged's picture

Quick update guys physio was ment to be 2 weeks after the opp making it 27/10, but being told its going to be 13/11

And exercise or movement recommendations for when it hits 2 weeks as they reckon it should be at 2 weeks but now they making me wait longer

Forged's picture

So guys day 4 and pain is mainly along the collar bone now, still shoulder and bicep pain, am getting more movement in the arm just shoulder movement is bit limited without to much pain.

press1's picture

Have you got any X-rays before or after to show us mate?

Forged's picture

Got 3 nice holes in me, the bandages was a nightmare for my partner to get of as they stuck them to my stitches so was trying not to rip stitches off

Forged's picture

Nah bro, I'm waiting for my follow up with the surgeon cause apparently the nurse was ment to give me the pictures from the op but she didn't , wish I asked for the bit of tendon the took out and showed me, it looked like a claw, am gonna ask surgeon for the before ultrasound and after pics etc when I see him.

press1's picture

HAHAHA Are you thinking of displaying some shoulder tendon on the fireplace for when your guests come round?! The Big question though is this the arm you use to wipe your arse and pull the todger out with?

Forged's picture

No I'm safe it my left shoulder and am right handed lol. Thought could keep the tendon for separation anxiety lol.

Hey I've already managed to get the missus to wash me, uncluding my ass so ya never know lol

press1's picture

LMAO You didn't want to give a part of yourself away - Damn bro she must REALLY love you to be doing that, you realise the ultimate goal is to get her 'kissing your ass' don't you??! ROFL

@Catalyst have you managed to get your Mr's doing any of this yet mate?
