I was lifting weights 3 x per week and taking the dog a 5k walk most days before i ended up having to get an operation to remove a testicle 6 weeks ago. My testosterone levels were low after testing so started 100ml of test cyp twice a week so hopefully help.
Not been to the gym since for obvious reasons. Once i heal i'll be getting back into it. On a brighter note i found this forum which has been great. Oh and i'm 41.
I am 41 so I feel that I could chime in, for joints I take 100mg of deca per week indefinitely, I started at age 40 and It's been a great help since I have been weight lifting since I was 16, so I have joints of a professional football player. I get it from my doctor along with 100mg of test e per week. My test results in bloodwork are always a little over the highest value but my doctor seems ok with this as it's not that big a value. For weight lifting, I do less weight with slower reps ( 3 seconds down 3 seconds up ) and about 8-12 reps per set with the last set 4-6 reps with 6 seconds down and 6 seconds up. This has reduced my injuries and overall joint health. I no longer do 1 or 3 rep maxes, I work out at home, I have no one to impress :P. I take mutlivitamin supplement from the pharmacy, I picked the best one they had with the most online positive reviews. I donate blood every other week because my hermocrit is high so my blood is a little sludge like
But with this method I can keep my hemocrit within range. It's called a therapeutic donation, they discard the blood as it's dirty. I am on trt for life cause of a car accident a decade ago which caused damage to my testicles, my vas deferens were shredded and other important vessels were also injured so I had to go on trt.
I do hiit running every 4th day, I do 30 sets of running full throttle for 15 seconds then I jog slowly for 15 seconds , that's one rep, it not only builds fast and slow twitch fibers in my muscles, it enhances my cardiovascular health. My resting pulse and blood pressure is 45 BPM and 110/70 BP. I once asked a doctor why my pulse was so low, cause it kept beeping alarm in the hospital and he explained it that since I am a body builder my heart doesn't need to pump as fast as a normal person as it's more efficient. I can keep my body weight at around 102 kilograms and I stay around 13% body for the winter time and I try to lower it for the summer time but it's getting harder as I age.
DicedGuyThe older you get the less you should take , TRT and a little hgh will go a long way. Also remember to take good care of your joints and bloodwork at least 2 times a year
Me and my andrologist have been discussing putting me on HGH for a few months now, he is on the side of putting me on, while I have some reservations such as: It grows your heart during hiit which could lead to trouble in the future. However he wants to start me at a low dose and it's covered by insurance, so I don't have to shell out a lot of money for it. I think I will get on it the next visit I go, any suggestions as to diet, gym, overall lifestyle changes I should expect ?
Volume vs weight, much lower mg per week, no Tren, dbol or anadrol, less body weight so eases strain on heart and joints, 30+ min of cardio daily
Most of the older guys I know stick to HGH and trt. My uncle started pointing it out to me about ten years ago on the softball diamond.
I'm 55 & the first thing everyone must accept is you can't do what you used to. It's impossible to gain muscle natty post 50, I've trained harder than anybody & it's demoralising to not see gains.
That changes with PEDs & I'm now dating a woman 23 years my junior ------
DicedGuyYes it's definitely a lot harder and train and adjust your training .
