Secret weapon- homemade chili

ad

I don't care if it's on Bread, nacho chips or a hot dog. I love the stuff. How are y'all loading it up? On my end product I am putting some shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Tis the season

Add a nice dollop of mayonnaise and mix that bitch in….. thank me later boys!

I also like chili on rice. Got me hungry now.

Makwa's picture

maybe I am weird but I always add elbow noodles, 2 pints of IPA beer, brown sugar and I use venison or bear instead of beef.

JakeKO's picture

That sounds good

Makwa's picture

The hops from the IPA really compliment the spiciness of the chili.

ForeverFitBod1's picture

2 lb ground beef
12oz chorizo diced
Whole onion diced
Whole green pepper diced
Two habanero cut in half
Two jars spaghetti sauce
Two packets chili seasoning mix
One packet taco seasoning
One can enchilada sauce
A can of each red and black beans
One box of Spanish rice
One hungry ass mofo

Brown the meat first and drain the grease. Toss everything in together. This will fill a large crock pot to the brim. Lasts 3 days

May have to try this with some Fritos sprinkled on top of the dish as mentioned below. Some added crunch sounds tempting. I also see another recipe posted below which looks really good. May have to give that a whirl too next time!

Voila-bon appetit

Chilli Con Carne is actually my favourite food!! So many ways you can eat it too: On a Jacket Potato, In a Toasted sandwich, On penne pasta, On toast, On pizza.

Makwa's picture

Toast and pizza??? Lol I like it on baked potatoes and venison hot dogs or veni andouille.

press1's picture

Chilli pizzas are a big thing over here, yeh it goes great on toast too with mustard!!

We also like fried chocolate bars in chip shop batter after the fish has been in it LMAO

Bill1976's picture

On rice.

press1's picture

I eat skins everyday buddy!! 1/3 of the Jacket with plenty of potato still in it then cheddar cheese and Jalapenos on it, with Spicy coated Chicken breast and Peri Peri Mayo!!! Yeah Baaaabbaayy LMAO

Then Mint Cookie Swirl Ice cream OR White Chocolate Caramel swirl with Raspberry Sauce on top

Bill1976's picture

Foreskins?

scoobydoo's picture

I hear those are a delicacy. Fry em up and they're like pork rinds.

ForeverFitBod1's picture

Hmmm. Peanut butter? I do admit I need to get a better variety of beans in there. And you had me at smoked paprika. Killer recipe! Ty!

I like it with beans too. Chili Nazis say it's not chili if it has beans. Lol I like to put Fritos on top.

Makwa's picture

It ain't chili without beans and fritos are always a nice touch to make it look gourmet.

press1's picture

Ohh yeah gotta have the Kidney beans in there .... They improve eGFR ya know Mak Lol

scoobydoo's picture

I've had it both ways. I'll take the beans. Elbow noodles sounds good too. Reminds me of American Chop Suey.

ForeverFitBod1's picture

I'm going to have to try that I've heard about that before. Fritos have hella calories too. Good call

I saw a guy putting Fritos on his chili once and I looked at him and said "Fritos on chili?" he said "Do you like Fritos?", "I love Fritos", "You should try it" he said. This dude had chili in an 8x11 pyrex pan and dumped a bag of Fritos on it. He didn't offer me a bite. Lol. He was a big dude. I had a can of chili back at where I was staying and tried it within the next few days. I like it. You don't want to mix the Fritos in because they get too soggy.

Eat it straight out the pot like a hungry bear raiding the campground.

I make two chilis: deer chili that I shot that season (wife won’t eat she says I’m killing Bambi) and a very fancy maple pumpkin chili that’s with ground turkey (wife loves this one and so does everyone that tries it after wrinkling their nose to the idea). Deer chili gets cheese on top. Maple pumpkin gets no extra toppings.

scoobydoo's picture

Do you use real maple syrup?

SeeOhShow's picture

Is there any other kind?

Makwa's picture

Sap is going to be running soon. We made 420 gals of maple syrup last spring.

Bill1976's picture

My cousin has a set up with airlines running from all the trees. It goes right into a large vat. Also has honey bees. If a zombie apocalypse hit they would be ok. Hunting and a pond with fish and a greenhouse solar panels. You name it they have it

Makwa's picture

Sounds nice. My cousin and I have a little over 600 acres of sugar maples that we tap. We run around with a 4wheeler and big water tank behind that we dump the sap into and then bring back to the sugar shack for cooking.

scoobydoo's picture

My family was kind of poor when I was growing up. Above poverty, but not middle class. We got the fake syrup and that must have got too expensive because then we got that Karo syrup. Sugar is sugar to a kid. Lol. I think I was in my 30's when I first tried real syrup. Nothing compares.

JakeKO's picture

We still use Mrs Butterworth fake syrup, LOL! Although, it on a very rare occasion that I will ever use syrup on anything anymore.

scoobydoo's picture

Have you ever had real maple syrup? I haven't had any in almost a year. It sends my blood sugar through the roof.

Growing up me and my older brother were notorious for cleaning out the kitchen and never leaving leftovers. When I was 15-16 years old my dad made a huge pot of chili and said “I made such a big pot that there’s no way you and your brother can eat it all.”

Well we took that as a challenge and ate the entire pot in one sitting. I think I ate 7 big bowls. I had diarrhea for 24 straight hours. Lesson learned: enjoy your chili in moderation.

ForeverFitBod1's picture

Sounds like your pops knew what he was doing lmao!! You little bastards are going to pay the price this time while I hide the toilet paper jkjk

There's two levels of spiciness. What your tongue can handle and what you're ass can handle

Mmmm. Maple pumpkin, even more hearty
