Well well well @Bill1976 here we go again with the politics of boxing. This is getting rediculous man. It's pure and simple..the BEST AREN'T FIGHTING THE BEST...PERIOD! Us pure boxing fans were supposed to have already seen Crawford vs. Spence along with many other top fights, now Usyk and Fury fight fell out. It's crazy man. I understand money plays a part but what about legacy? Even Roy Jones said nowadays this a a big problem. Back in the 80's and 90's the best fought the best regardless and the promoters didn't get in the way of that, hell in fact they encouraged it.

Yea sometimes a fighter doesn't match up with another fighter, that could be it or Bivol could of gotten better. And yea Benavidez too. I'm sure on that video he wasn't fighting or moving around like he did against Canelo. That video has to be a few years old.

Yea I remember you said you thought he carried Ngannu. Honestly I just think Fury underestimated the guy. That look on his face after the knock down didn't look like someone carrying a fight. He was shocked if anything. Check his face out when he gets knocked down. That tells it all.
Nah Fury won but honestly he fought sloppy because he normally fights better than how he fought. I think Fury took the fight lightly and paid the price for that. No set up at all. In my opinion Ngannu fought smart against Fury and will be a formidable heavyweight boxer. He has power for damn sure.
Edit: I think Fury is close to retiring after Usyk fight. They may fight twice.

Ever since Lenix Lewis and Vladimir klitchko retired boxing is a joke I grew up boxing my uncles were amateur boxers in those days everyone was gunning for the best even if u new u was going to get rocked and knocked the fucked out they still had the drive and desire to fight the best of the best. Bro, all I can say is I competed. Never got my pro card (ISKA) but the competition was different with martial arts before MMA. But I’ve competed, and been more scuffles than I’d prefer to admit, even worse admitting I’m about 7/10 outside the ring. If you’ve ever been to the trauma unit after a bad one you know 7/10 is respectable. Anyway, I wouldn’t step into the ring with Tyson in his prime. Either Klitchko brother I would. Shit, may be fun to box Larry Holmes, he’d be easy on ya, but Tyson? Nah man, I’d run all the way home.

Anyway, he lost me when he started saying he’d beat the shit out of Andrew Tate. Look, I’m currently 6’1”, 220lbs or so, recently ramped up my dosage from TRT to performance. I’m not running, wouldn’t be afraid, but Andrew Tate is a professional fighter. He’d beat the living shit out of most of us here. Yes, Andrew Tate will kick ass. I know I never got my pro card, he did.

I rarely watch boxing anymore. If I do it's generally prelims. The "Big" fights are just money grab hype fights. So much money plays a factor on who may win. It's embarrassing to the sprot. So many different belts, organizations, governing body, blah blah...it's retarded. I have a couple buddies who fought pro. I never went pro but was amateur for many years when I started my fighting career. I transition to muay thai and MMA as I got older. I love that art of boxing but it's definitely not what it was.

On a side note I have a nephew that needs some direction. He gets bullied at school occasionally and plays too many video games. He is 14. What do you feel is the best form of self defense to get involved in early in life for real life situations? Their is a ju jitsu gym here I was thinking about signing him up for.
Jiu jitsu is cool say from a grappling point of view. But if you don't know how to take down and defend it can hinder you. I always tell people get a good wrestling foundation. That was my success and the most dominant fighters all come from a wrestling background. You need to learn to take guys down and defend a takedown. My dad was a wrestler in college and he taught all of us kids how to wrestle the day we could walk lol.
I would say if there is a good MMA gym near by that would be a good start. Wrestling is 1, kick Boxing/muay thai 2 learn to utilize all your limbs, jiu jitsu 3, Boxing would be 4 if you really want to understand the fundamentals of just boxing. Muay thai gyms are a little harder to come by but if you can learn distance and to utilize kicks, I've ended many street fights with some brutal leg and body kicks because guys never felt a calf kick or kick to the stomach/ribs before. People learn quickly like they want no part of that lol.

Paul vs Toomy Fury was ridiculous. I watched just to see because all these kids coming out the woodwork like he's going to KO fury. It wasn't spectacular but it was the first time he fought a real boxer. Then you have the big real boxers feeding off of that shit looking for an even bigger payday making it a ll a spectacle. Like the money has always been an issue but it's making a bigger joke of the sport. I can't take it serious.
