+ 5 "Steroid like" supplements in the 90's. What a joke!
ad
I just saw a member post something in regards to an old supplement-drug that was used in the late 90's-2000s. Seeing this brought back memories as I remember like it was yesterday even though I was a youngster. Simple but damn good times!
Were you guys into supplements like myself and if so then what did you use? Personally I used alot of supplements but one example is mega mass 2000 lol. I thought I'd be Mr. Olympia on that stuff! Damn those days!

I remember 1-AD back in the day being close to "roids" I was afraid to take it cause Id get puffy nipples so I never took it.
Lol I remember
Thanks for bringing this thread back up lol! Some nostalgia on here
Legendary.... memories
This is from NOW. But I know of this cockey idiot who spends tons of money on deer antler velvet thinking he's going to get huge from the supposed increase in igf1 boost. He's been using it for like a year now. I've noticed zero change. If he wasn't such a douche I'd tell him to stop wasting his money but he probably wouldn't believe me anyway.
I think at one point some guys in the NFL were using deer antler velvet. Lol what a waste. Never tried.
My buddy kept androsol trandermal spray in the higschool locker room. He would let me get a few sprays inside of my elbows before football weight lifting. May have just been placebo but I swear it did something lol
Not sure if you guys remember Nox-Pump from Dorian Yates. Shit was straight up amphetamines lmao.
Never tried but I can only imagine how loaded it was.
Ultimate orange
Uncle DuChaine
You better believe it! Yep by Ultimate Nutrition. Tasted like trash. Worst taste ever. At least when I tasted it.
I guess it's from the 80's not 90's but close enough when you as old as me. Stuff had meth in it I think. Gave you the shakes and irregular heartbeat after taking it.
1AD and Russian bear
Everyone loved that Big Bear!
Mine was super dmz and russian bear 5,000 I believe
I did use the Russian Bear. Yep big ole yellow like horse tablets. Full of herbs and b- vitamins. I thought that was one of the secrets of the Russians back then. So silly.
@Rosschestzip above comments
Oh shit lol, I never knew it was actually popular that’s funny, it was almost like a joke to me when I’d see it. At the time I knew nothing about anything so it was like absurd to even think about someone having 5000 calories or whatver it was
You gotta read this whole page man. Some stuff was trash but some supplements like Hotstuff and Russian bear were on point. Personally I think a few of those good supplements were spiked and that was the rumor about Hot Stuff. It was eventually pulled off the market and replaced by a weaker version. Cybergenics below was the biggest supplement bust ever in my opinion. Alot of hype.
Legendary @JakeKO @Drexyl
The before and after pics were great though lol
O yeah. If you didn't know any better. I didn't! Alot of people didn't
My roommate swore by that shit when I first moved out of my parents house. Although, he would also run test with it. He had an awesome physique, but also had great genetics. Although he had the worst case of Gyno that ruined it all, LOL. He eventually got the surgery though
He swore by cybergenics? Really? I didn't use but I never heard anything good about it. Cybergenics had to be the most hyped up supplement of all times. I mean you would of thought the stuff had steroids in it by all the made up, bogus ass claims made by that company and by people. At first I was sold like anyone else.
My roommate was definitely sold, and swore they were good. I considered it, but saw the price and thought it was stupid when I could just buy test instead
Yea it was expensive. Can't remember but over $100. If you were to look at those ingredients you would laugh.
First time I heard that but I guarantee that testosterone that he was taking did all the work lol. Those professional bodybuilders knew that system was trash too.
There were just so many, what’s strange is I always stayed away from Weider stuff
Yea looking back weider was trash. Probably the worst.
Yup
I keep hearing that old damn 70's Hot stuff song in my head.

Never let it be said I’m not a man of the people
Man Donna Summer in concert. You and I were born too late man. And about Hot stuff, man It definitely had some raw steroid powder in it like reported. It had this chemical taste that they tried to cover up with chocolate and banana flavoring.
"flashback" Damn. Took me back to the stupid movie and theme song.
Yeah I'm old lol
Nah that song callled..Looking for some hot stuff! Don't remember who sung it. Came out before my time.
No way. Man I mentioned Hot Stuff long ago on a forum. I gotta admit Hot Stuff was on point. Now supposedly it was spiked with a mystery steroid. The truth never came out but all of a sudden the Hott Stuff original ingredients changed after that huge scandal. That scandal was a big deal back then.
Yeah, they banned that stuff for a little while
Yep for a reason. It had something in it that wasn't legal. I definitely noticed a difference between old and new version.
LOL! My first experience was at about 15 years old. I saw these supplements in a muscle mag called Mega Packs. I remember think they were steroids and ordering them with some paper route money. When they arrived my mom opened my mail and said “what is-a dis bulla shit?” I told her they were going to make my muscles grow. She said “Dee onaly thinga make-a your muscles grow is the food, a lotta Goodaa food!! Not the pizza and Burgera King!! These vitamins gonna make-a you throw uppa!” Go figure, as usual, she was right, LOL.
A few years later when the seniors on my football team were clearly using gear, my friends and I heard about some sublingual drops from GNC. The were $30.00, and we all started lifting our asses off trying to grow. Lol! A year later, our Head Football coach heard about what we were using, and turned us all onto Dbol. He was a Pro bodybuilder, so we all saw him as a God. He also bounced some of the hottest night clubs on the Jersey shore. 39 years later, and that guy still looks incredible for his age. He had those great genetics. What an awesome football season that was.
Your mom was 1000% right lol! Food is the best ever lol, no comparison. Man Jake I had all the bodybuilding magazines and in every magazine there was every popular "steroid like" supplement advertised. I remember those packs but I never took them. I always went for the powders and every now and then tablets.
Your highschool dbol story is legendary lol! When I was in highschool juice seemed so damn hard to get, even though it was available in the gyms. Thing is it was so secretive.
Lmao. I hated the sight of those packs.
EatClenTrenHard...Reminds me of the prohormone saga in those days lol. Thankfully people steered away from them and stuck to compounds with more studies and medical backing.
Lol I remember those days too. But this supplement sillyness was even before those Mark McGwire- Sammy Solsa prohormone days! I mean those steroid supplement days were pure desperation to say the least. It was crazy man. The worst part is alot of folks believed all the hype.
