Has anyone had success losing fat with T3/T4 combination therapy?

ad

As a TRT patient I have a tele-med MD that prescribes. To reduced fast loss he prescribed the combination T3/T4 Liothyronine/Levothyroxine sodium 9/38 MCG capsule one per day on empty stomach no food, coffee or creamer for 30 minutes.

Does this combination seem too low of a dose for fat loss? I have been on it a month and have seen no loss. 70,000+ steps per week, lift 5-6 days per week.

Clean daily diet include the following weekly: oatmeal, banana, chicken breast, yogurt, tuna, salmon, lean pork, vegetables.

Thank you.

I had success in losing muscle and feeling lethargic

How about eating a salad and calling it a day?
I call bullshit on this post. I bet your Telemed was really a moron friend with shitty advice.

You may want to read other's posts and try to catch up with the basic knowledge of most people.

T3/T4 usage has been around in bodybuilding for decades. Did you notice the dose I was taking? It is compounded by a compounding pharmacy not bought online. I just posted to look for answers. Since you know nothing about the topic it does not make any sense to criticize my post or my question.

Sounds good. Have a great week. https://CENSORED.com

So, you went to an infomercial to get nonbiased medical advice? On that same site, can you point out the severe risks you take messing with thyroid meds? High risk, little reward.

Thyroid meds recommended by a professional, (I use that term loosely in this instance), seems irresponsible based on the fact that your t4/t3/tsh were in range. Im assuming this “Tele-Med” service is a bit questionable by the reaction here?

Not the way to go in my eyes. Bad advice.

You shouldn't take a thyroid medication as a fat loss drug. It's a low dose for a reason so it doesn't shutdown your natural thyroid function. It would take several weeks to be effective. A medication that is more effective for weight loss is called ozempic, which is popular among celebrities and a newer drug. It is for type 2 diabetes controls blood sugar levels. A side effect is rapid weight loss within a month you can lose between 5-10% bodyfat. I wouldn't use it longer than that bc a side effect is sunken face/can make you look aged. In all honesty drugs are NOT the solution to weight loss, maybe ONLY in extreme situations. You sound reasonable fit and eat responsibility. Try a natural fat burner or supplement. The best one I've had results with is called Animal Cuts made by universal nutrition. It has specific complexes of ingredients that will help you shed weight. It's a 3 week cycle, I suggest using the pill packs...for some reason the formulation is different with the newer powdered version they released. It was rated the best fat burner/thermogenic for a few years. It even has a thyroid complex that safely boosts function and a cortisol inhibiting complex so you don't increase these levels by stimulating TSH levels which can cause muscle wasting like using T3/T4.

Thank you for your post and the helpful information. I tried Ozempic and after 3 weeks my gall bladder began to hurt. I stopped the medication but many have had great success in fat loss with both Ozempic and Mounjaro. However, after reading the pi, both have a substantial side effect profile that: "may include thyroid C-cell tumors". “Taking Ozempic may increase your risk of acute (short-term) gallbladder disease" Thank you again.

I dunno bud, not sure what your goals are and I’m certainly no one to pass any judgement towards anyone. But if you’re not a competitive bodybuilder, or a model doing photo shoots, let’s say this is a “hobby” for you, why are you taking drugs that can and will pickle your thyroid? Again, I’m not judging, do what makes you happy, but the testes are one thing if you shut them off, TRT isn’t the greatest thing in the world but it’s manageable. A fried thyroid? That’s asking for some serious trouble. Not saying eating a plate of celery and carrots with a side dish of nonfat yogurt is going to put 5lbs on you with a cooked thyroid, but, yeah you get the idea.

I ran Bitiron (t3+t4 in specific ratio) back these days. That shit ate everything, muscle included.

Makwa's picture

That shit eats up just as muscle as it does fat. People usually end up worse than before they took it. Eat your muscle up and now metabolism is lower and you get fatter quicker. It is one of the last tools in the toolbox for a professional bodybuilder only, where losing that last 0.5% BF can be the difference between a loss or win. They have the muscle to spare though and losing some along the way is not as important as losing that last 0.5% BF to get down to 3-4% BF to become ultra-shredded. That is one of the worst drugs a recreational user should ever use for fat loss because it usually always backfires.

I often see this for sale with sources I use and wondered what it is for! lol Sounds nasty af ....

Did these dipshits at tele-med even bother testing your baseline thyroid levels?

ANOTHERGREATDAY's picture

The "dipshit" is an MD with one of the largest HRT clinics in the south. It is tele-med because I live in another state.

Just because the "used car salesman" has a big lot, it doesn't make him better or honest.

So basically a perfectly functioning thyroid and they put you on medication that is totally unneeded, and people are wondering why they are cracking down on all this telemed BS. Money in the bank for them I guess, fry your natty thyroid so they can keep you on meds for the rest of your life and take home a paycheck at the expense of your health.

Makwa's picture

Sounds like a good malpractice lawsuit to me.

How is that poisoning my system?
