The longer I stayed off my testosterone the better my libido..

ad

Hey yall,
Im 45 years old , been on testosterone prescribed by a doctor at 120 mgs/wk for the past 5 years.. In the Month Of JAN i decided to take a month off for the first time. Seems like when I first started , 2 days after my shot i would peak and bed very horny. fast forward to the past two years it seems like the longer i go without a shot, the more libido i have.. For instance in JAN 2023 i took off my treatment for 30 days.. Week three i was able to have sex w my girlfriend 4 times a day and finish..No issues.. Now im gonna be honest I was boosting my test to 200 a week as well.. Regardless ,its the same problem.. So I know we like to think the higher the number the more drive we will have, i know we are are biochemically different and im sure age plays a factor! Id love to know my numbers at week 3.. I got labs at week 4 and my total testosterone was 35 ng/dl.. So im trying to guesstimate what i may have been at week 3 just a wk before my labs.. My H/H came down considerably which was my goal and i told my doc what i did.. He was ok with it but thought it be a good idea to let my natural test come back and keep going and maybe my natural would come back.. I felt horrible by week 4 and reminded him the reason i came to him in the first place was because i had all he symptoms of low testosterone, not just the sex drive part. All the symptoms.. Just a quick note: All my blood work is much better since TRT , my glucose is down, cholesterol is much better.. I am 180 with a body fat at around 15%... My previous numbers on our last blood test was 880ng/dl.. Free was kinda low though at around 11 pg/ml.... Has anyone else ever had this issue of the farther away from the shot they go, the better they feel libido wise?? id love to hear about it... Its the exact opposite of how it was in the beginning... I just never want to get to that week 4 feeling again and all Catabolic I apologize for the spelling errors and big paragraph.. I'm in a huge hurry and need t go...

You're just gonna take off with no PCT?

Michael_Anthony's picture

yes sir! Never PCT'd In my life. Never did cycles though. Im on test, I stopped to get my hemaglobin down a bit because that is my docs biggest concern, It was only a little over 18, so it was over high normal, I got it down to 16.8. That is when i noticed i felt better at week 3 than i did after injection and out to two weeks... I dont mess with pct or Ai's , I know doc doesnt want me on any Ai. and I dont either. I think some estrogen is cardio protective and gotta watch messing with that. But i get it, post cycle is different... Got ya.. But im not on a cycle. Maybe next time i take time off , Ill see if hell prescribe me some Clomiphene or something to make it a little smoother ... Thanks

Yes my brother you have been on cycle with 200mg doses unfortunately. I know it would seem like trt but not the case, yea it's a small cycle. And staying on that dose 5 years and then coming off will be hard on your system without proper pct.

Big Tone36's picture

200mg was what my doctor prescribed to me but i will tell you this, 200mg will definitely put you above range. He's 45 been on test 5 years there's no coming back with PCT. I tried before and I shot 10,000 of pregnyl and took 100mg clomid for a month and on week 5 still on clomid 50mg daily my total test was 62ng/dl. He will need TRT for life

DeeMan's picture

Thats the thing alot of Docs won't prescribe 200mg shots a week for trt, more along the lines of 100-120mg shots/week. I don't know what 200mg/wk put your levels at but for most it puts levels around 1000- 1400ng/dL.You don't wanna be sitting at 1400 for trt in my opinion. That's not a normal level as we all know. That's what I don't get about those Docs. Trt needs to be in a heathy range. And yea the older we get the harder it is to bounce test levels back after a long cycle, it's easier for a 25 yr old to bounce back than it is for a 45yr old. More than likely hypogonadism like a mofo. I remember your case but alot of times one month isn't sufficient enough time to bounce back for some folks. Also after a certain time clomid has the tendency to have a strange affect on hpta.

Big Tone36's picture

The only reason I got 200mg/wk was because I was cool with her. They usually give 100mg/wk but can prescribe up too 200mg/wk. 100 mg puts me at 700 g/dl. Jay cutler said his doc give him 200mg/wk in recent videos. We know that's a little beyond TRT.

About my last attempt at PCT, I agree it will take time but after what I did initially I would think it would of been higher than 62ng/dl. I've also been using juice very long. The highest I ever brought it back after 3 year lay off from juice was high 200's. That's when I went yo doc and got TRT. She's not there anymore unfortunately, she went to foreign country to do mission medical work on poor unfortunate people

DeeMan's picture

I didn't see that 200mg video but I remember seeing where he said he's at 650ng/dL or slightly above but was thinking about bringing level up to 800ng. He might have pushed it to 200mg now though.

DeeMan's picture

That Doc sounds cool. Would rather deal with her lowering 200mg/wk than deal with an uptight ass Doc who prescribes 100mg shot every 2 weeks.

And yea you been on for years. You and I aren't old but we're not young bucks anymore so that definitely plays a factor in your case for recovery.

ONESICK's picture

Not to forget the time's you did 200mg is low cycle territory test levels.

ONESICK's picture

I'm just saying pct to help at least kick start your natural production. 5 years is a long time to run test. Though it's not technically a cycle, coming off from that long will be a mother fucker. You'll also revert back to low T if not lower than when you started trt. It's very unlikely you'll be higher than when you started.

DeeMan's picture

10000% agree. I couldn't of said that better. And yeah 200mg is a small cycle not trt. +1

Michael_Anthony's picture

So yes , agree with you, However to clarify, and I know its my fault because my articulation is terrible, but i have def not been on 200 migs for 5 yrs, what i was saying is i have upped the dose here and there and also lowered , in fact we went down to 50 mgs. for a bit some time ago, but i didnt give that enough time. But looking back things were better in certain departments.. But never stayed on 200 for long. Recently i did push it up for a few weeks.. I think someone said it in another comment about lowering the dose and as we age.. That is a great idea as you know our physiology changes and im sure we need to adjust to that.. Lots of good suggestions. and def agree 200 is a small cycle for sure. Or at least upper Trt limit.

Big Tone36's picture

100-125mg/wk is a good dose. 100mg/wk will keep you at a higher mid range and keep you feeling good and healthy. Don't worry so much about hemoglobin, high platelets is the sticky stuff in blood that clots. Drink plenty of water your hemoglobin will go down

Michael_Anthony's picture

Thank you.. and i was reading your comment above.. 62 ng/dl wow.. Musta felt like shit for sure..

Big Tone36's picture

Total shit, I'll never do that again

DeeMan's picture

Yea I read the part where you started at true trt dose for those years and then went up to 200mg for a little while, that's what I was referring to.

Michael_Anthony's picture

Gotcha. Yeah man , I agree wit that. it is. Look, i came here for help , im not trying to argue with anyone So i hope I dont sound like im pushing back at anyone.. So i hope it doesnt come across like that.. Not my intention! I appreciate your help, suggestions and telling like it is.. So thank you sir..

DeeMan's picture

You bet. Learn from this.

Michael_Anthony's picture

Very True. It is a long time, and Of course i have messed with the dosage over the years. Not smart but i know sometimes we wanna be our own doctors, and do or at least ive done some dumb shit like that.. And yeah man, For sure, you are correct, Im a lifer , I can't imagine coming off for good. By week 4 depression was kicking in and thats only with small amount.. Once we play with our HPTA its on, Doctor or not, the body now needs it. Now i feel fine, but still need to figure out if this is indeed estrogen related.. So I appreciate everyones feed back. oddly enough I know a little about this stuff but never thought to chck estrogen or to have pct on hand. Which is my own damn fault for being stewnod... Thanks man!

ONESICK's picture

I wasn't sure if you meant indefinitely come off. I was gonna say don't do that lol. But get bloodowrk done, full panel preferably but definitely check estrogen. Our bodies change as we get older. Perhaps you need a lower test dose after 5 years. I Know guys who are prescribed 75mg a week and they're normal as shit. I get we all want to self doctor, I've done it, we all done it. Best to let the pros figure it out. Sure not all docs know shit about testosterone and anabolics but at least bloodowrk doesn't lie. Best of luck man

Michael_Anthony's picture

You hit the nail on the head.. My buddy used to be at around 200mg to even higher, hes now 50 years old and is on 80mg per week and doing fine.. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the problem im having. I may be doing more harm than good, as i said above and you know, you guys are all well versed in here, our physiology changes as we get older and we prob need to adjust and adapt to it.. You are 100% correct less is more sometimes.. And hell yeah Id be lying if i said i never played with the numbers as far as upping the migs here and there, thinking Id get better results.. Its tempting because i still have that love for body building, and i love learning about this stuff.. But keeping healthy is gotta be priority.. Something so simple as dialing it down as you said, idk why i didnt just try that for a while. old mindset of more is better i guess.. Thank you very much for your input man

Throwing shit on the wall and hoping something sticks without getting your estro checked.

Michael_Anthony's picture

Yes , to a point. I could of added estrogen and i wanted to check Estrogen on my anylabs test. Doc does't seemed to concerned about that , his answer is to lower dose for everything.. Maybe he has a point, But im really not on a high dose. And i would say I was dialed in pretty well for years until recently, and noticed these little issues of having stronger libido weeks after my shot.. Def will get estrogen checked, if i were to bet , id say its low and not high but we really dont know until we get some numbers in addition to how we feel so , thank you..

DeeMan's picture

Not a placebo of 2 day peak...not true. Usually most feel test E between 1-3 days post injection. I understand your point. And yes I have experienced what you said about the farther away from a shot the better my libido got. A few factors come into play. For the most part for me I feel that 2-3 day peak. I've had some test E that I felt peak at 30 hours.

Elephant in the room,....... what is one thing testosterone can convert to and cause a lot of the symptoms mentioned ??????

The Big E.

Owes a Review × 1
Michael_Anthony's picture

I cant argue with Estrogen as my doc never tested me for that.. I have no bloating, I'm not crying from tv commercials or have sore nips but it could be high or low E.. idk. Im very dry but take no AI or anything but my Cyp.. Prolactin was fine he did wanna check that.. TSH t4 reverse t3 t3 all good, PSA good.... I am gonna ask for Estrodial test and all around estrogen and see where im at. Its never been an issue in the past and ive never abused the stuff.. Did i go a little higher some weeks? I did but im sure most ppl have and its part being stupid on my end, and part me trying to dial myself in. My docs a good guy , i respect what he does, but when it comes to hormones most regular docs arent up to date and really have not much of a clue, so i felt i had to experiment on myself.. And im finding the 120mg is good for me. But still weird that the farther i get from my shot the more libido and energy i get.. I appreciate your input and you'd think id be smart enough to ask him to do Estrogen test while doing CBC CMP and all the other hormones but he never asked and i didnt think i had an issue going by the non bloatedness and other symptoms i hear about.. Im wondering if its low E.. Ill report back, I have an appointment in May and probably do labs.. Last labs were in end of Jan.

Nattyboomba's picture

I have experienced unpredictable low test symptoms while on TRT and on cycle in the past. I had erection quality issues, libido issues and dopamenergic/motivational issues, as well. At times when I would assume my blood serum is high in test and thought I should be experiencing the symptoms of high test, but in fact I was a bit lethargic and all that comes with it. It’s a mystery to me, also

Michael_Anthony's picture

You know I was just thinking of it and another thing i havent checked on any of my labs is SHBG. I know a lot of people are looking at estrogen and that may very well be it. But maybe your free test is low? Mine isnt very high compared to my total. And your comment just got me thinking of my own post, and im thinking holy shit, i forgot about albumin and SHBG.. Perhaps we have high levels of sex hormone binding globulin? Def worth checking out..

Michael_Anthony's picture

Wow man, sounds exactly like what i have going on.. Its not as bad as it sounds, but it is a little concerning that it did a complete 180 on me.. Ive been on test for a while and when this started happening is when i decided to up my dose and it didnt really help, just made it worse.. Hell maybe i need t dial myself down to 50 mg ..

Michael_Anthony's picture

Thank you! Yes , I am gonna ask to check all these next lab test. LIke I said above , we have never checked Estrogen or any of the ones you have mentioned.. I did get FSh Checked on my own to make sure i cant get the gf pregnant and that was almost non existent. I assume LH is prob tanked as well.. But thank you for that suggestion. Dont get me wrong i feel a thousand times better than i did 5 yrs ago.. But I understand the whole endocrine system and HPTA is very complex and things change!!
