I have a financial advisor; it was the best move I ever made. One of the Execs I used to do side work for turned me on to him a few years ago as payment. I'm far from rich; but I live extremely comfortable. I bring him his favorite indulgences and he shares stuff with me.

iFit's picture

That is awesome. Good for you. Work the system instead of fighting it. Smart! I’ve been doing the same for a while now too. Got one that’s up 58,000% since I bought it. Instead of complaining about the sheep we just need to figure out what they are going to buy next.

IrishMack's picture

lol exactly, Not sure if you remember that commercial about the piece of trash right next to a garbage can with 4 people standing around it complaining about it and going back and forth about who did it and it was so disgusting, one person walked up; picked it up; and threw it away.

Who's making money? It's free. Worry about your $$ situation

No that was stupid bro! It’s no cost you you at the counter, yes! But our government (or your taxes) are paying big pharma. So no it’s not technically free, unless you don’t pay taxes. Also illegal immigrants get the shot on your dime…

Oh ya one other thing- remember how our boarders are open to anyone (including drug traffickers, dealers, criminal… and so on). Your hard earned money is paying for them too. So technically, your paying for hundred of thousands of peoples shots! So no, it’s not free. And everyone who gets people to take the shot get handouts (governors, politicians, big businesses, hospitals..)

Again this is where our government is fraudulent handling our money.

The shot is not free. Your taxes are paying for it. I do worry about my money, 1/3 of it is invested in your "free" shot. Everytime they name a new variant then say you need a booster for your boosters booster I start counting more stacks.

IrishMack's picture

Exactly; too bad we have to wait 50 years to find out the real side effects from the shots since they buried it in litigation and red tape. I treat this like Santa Claus; when we were all kids everyone believed there was a Santa, you couldn't convince a kid otherwise. But as us kids got older, and we started to actually pay attention did we start to figure out there was no such thing. For some unknown reason the vast majority of people haven't figured out yet about covid claus. Its hard to think for yourself when the media and your smartphone does all the thinking for you. I may just move to a red state soon; at least they haven't forgot what freedom is. If the supreme court sides with lieden this country is doomed.

whoremoans's picture

They do this all the fucking time. We are all of a sudden shocked and appalled? Face it not q single thing anyone, not anyone can or will do. It's a sad commentary but it's been happening since our nation's creation

He's talking about my great, great, grandpappy who cornered the leech market and exploited leech therapy for mega profits back in 1782. After death, his partner Adolf Pfizer continued the business until the great leech die off in 1808 when he was forced to close shop.

His son Charles Pfizer inherited the family fortune and started Pfizer Inc. in 1849. Their first moderately successful product was "Kola Coca", an elixir made with cocaine, sugar, and seltzer.

John Pemberton, a civil war veteran, bought the rights for Kola Coca from Charles, rebranded it and started the Coca-Cola company in 1886

Had covid unvacinated still unvacinated. I lost my spleen 5 years ago leaving me with the immune system of a 90 year old and I made it through worst part was sore throat and diarrhea

CarlHopper's picture

I haven't had covid yet. I'm double vaccinated but I don't wear my mask 100% of the time, only when necessary.

I originally got vaccinated to be able to travel and visit restaurants freely, but I guess it actually protects me because I did not have covid once. I use the absolutely overfilled metro on a daily basis and went on two flights. Still, no covid.

TheFlash85's picture

Have not had covid.
Double phizer vaxxed.
Mask anywhere around people and hand sanitising heavy.
I have a terminal lung condition so gotta be vigilant and more careful.

Someone at the gas station wasnt wearing a mask which is law in my state in public.
Attendant asked him go get a mask on to which he went fkn skitso.
I just stood in line observing until i didnt appreciate the volume of his swearing.
I quietly said to him in a polite manner that the attendant doesnt deserve abuse for doing his job, he replied he doesnt have to have a mask and tells me get fucked.

I stared him down a few seconds and said right, thats it cunt, thats attempted murder on me and my family, get outside so i can poke some holes in that fat belly of yours.

He decides he wants to go get a mask, i said hurry up about it or ill stab you in the store.
He jogs out to his vehicle and didnt return.

I must be very attractive to covid, had that three times already... Last time two weeks ago. On the other hand, first time I did not even noticed, I've had my blood taken and was quite surprised that I have antibodies already... And other two cases was really nothing extra ordinary, had only increased temperature a bit and a headache for two days, while seccond case was unvaccinated and my last two weeks ago was with complete vaccination already - so no difference for me.

winmag4582001's picture

Never had Covid, no antibodies and unvaxed.
Have about 25k miles racked up in the US since the start of this pandemic, another 5 trips outside the US. Maybe I’m just too beautiful to catch it.

iFit's picture

I have 4 family vacations booked for 2022 and every single destination on my list requires the vax for adults and kids. I respect peoples choices but if you want to travel there is no choice.

winmag4582001's picture

If there was a real pandemic going around, you wouldn’t have to convince me to try a vaccine.

Greg's picture

And if one has natural immunity?
Are we advocating zero risk now?
Let's stop driving.
Close the national parks, lakes, and streams.
Might as well stop air travel too.
Get rid of shoelaces lest you trip and break your hip.
Speaking of Tom Brady, do you want to tell him that the NFL has been canceled or should I?

I worked in hospitals too, (I covered the entire northwest not just one franchise). You're over selling the elective surgery and delayed chemo for mom narrative. That was never a real thing.

Get a new job. It sounds like you're suffering from PTSD. Spend a few weeks in Florida, you'll start to feel normal again.

I am not moderating a debate; I moderate a website. I can have and share an opinion. I worked at HOSPITALS plural, I covered 6 states. and nowhere was as bad as one was led to believe via the mainstream news. Nip and tuck, overed prepared with hospital ships and field hospitals (mostly unused) with only a few hospitals needing to send overflow patients to other nearby hospitals.

I don't know where you are, or what hospital you work at, but sure. It could be bad where you are... or was bad.

Your myopic, perspective doesn't hold true for 99.9999% of the rest of the country. The fact of the matter is we are not overwhelmed with hospitalizations. Covid deaths are down to flu death levels. We are being fed a what if, wait and see, who knows what will happen, better cancel new year's festivities from a political doctor who is too afraid to make the wrong call unless he be erroneously blamed (like Trump was) for covid deaths because he suggested lifting mandates too soon. You asked for facts, I provided a link to the HHS.

Enough already. You're talking about history and applying it to a present and future that is entirely different. It sounds like you have PTSD. The pandemic was bad. We've survived. Omicron is its death knoll, a weak variant that will provide better immunization to more globally sooner than we can hope to vaccinate them (the US seeking 3 shots for every citizen as most of Africa hasn't gotten one... remind me where Omicron came from)

We wouldn't be here right now worrying about Covid if enough people here in the US got vaccinated.

Enough have been. Ask Fauci why natural immunity has been factored out and why he's changed the herd immunity goal post about three times now. (from 60% at the start under Trump up to 80 or 90 percent now)

Fear is in the mind buddy! I respect your choices to protect yourself. But like You said.. being vaccinated will protect YOU 99.999% from hospitalization and death ( which is wrong, but I’ll move on).. so that’s why getting the vax should be everyone’s personal choice. I would never take allergy medicine for YOUR allergies. So if you want the vax then that’s fine! But don’t take the vax for anyone else ( it does not prevent the spread).. and the proof is all over the place! Like, why are fully vaccinated cruise ships showing up to port with massive outbreaks of covid on board???

I pray your not getting all your information from CNN or these mainstream media outlets that get more views from the public by inciting fear into people!

Your narrative flies in the face of the Department of Health & Human Services
https://protect-public.hhs.gov/pages/hospital-utilization

It could get to the point like in Italy where we now have to [choose] who lives and who dies.

This fear mongering sentiment on the heels of 2 therapeutic pills having been approved, over 73% have at least 1 shot, over 62% have been fully vaxed, 19% have had their booster, 50% have natural immunity, i.e., the nation is at herd immunity already, hospitalizations are down (even after a slight omicron uptick)

I am by no means against early stage abortions, but when they have to remove the brain fluid of a developed fetus to be able to suck it out, that seems wrong to me.

I wonder what the child has to say about that... or the father.

Fine, so the child has no advocate or say in the matter, the father can't be the child's advocate. You hold the line that there is only one person involved in the equation. You are also of the mind that if someone were to murder my child, I should be good with that.

However, if you're vaxed and have a .0001% chance of catching covid from me, (a hypothetical unvaxed person) I should be forced into compliance and be imprisoned for murder if you got sick and died.

Sounds reasonable. Good talk.

I think the real question is when does life begin? Does it start in the embryonic stage, before there is a heartbeat, before there is brain activity? I know such questions would ruffle the feathers of religious people, because they value the sanctity of life (as do I), yet from a scientific point of view I have a difference of opinion about when it is life starts in the womb: 5-7 weeks after conception.

I personally know several people who have directly died from Covid-19 who, based upon the knowledge I have about them, had no pre-existing health conditions that could have contributed to their untimely passing; I also know several people who died from Covid-19 who did have underlying health conditions. I have also seen people in both categories -- healthy and unhealthy -- who contracted Covid-19 and exhibited only mild symptoms.

What I have witnessed is only anecdotal, yet I do know there are certain factors which increase the probability of one becoming deathly ill if they contract the disease: obesity, cancer, diabetes, other forms of serious illness. Additionally, something worthwhile looking into, is the potential for one's blood type to dictate the severity of symptoms they encounter if they contract Covid-19. I have not followed the research extensively, although it is quite possible, from my limited understanding of the topic, that people with A and B blood types are more susceptible to the more serious side effects of the virus.

Listen, I trust science. I don't so much trust big pharma for several reasons, some of which include: deceiving the general public with the aim of maximizing profits even at the expense of the general health and safety of the population (think Purdue Pharma and Oxycontin), nor do I like how they price gouge by charging hundreds, and sometimes thousands of dollars, for a medication that might cost less than a dollar to produce. Yet I am careful not to conflate those scenarios with one in which there is a pandemic. I don't trust big pharma, but I do trust scientists and doctors.

Despite any differences of opinion any of us might have with one another, the cool thing about this type of discussion is simply that -- at least we are having a discussion about it. It seems society has become so polarized that no one can share a difference of opinion without feeling like they will be ostracized for doing so. I actually enjoy reading the comments about this topic, even though I disagree with a lot of people. At least it gives me the opportunity to try and understand those on the so-called "opposite" side and their perception of various topics. At the end of the day we all want what is best for society, despite our differences of opinion in how to achieve that.

As far as abortion goes, I don't think life starts at least until 5-7 weeks after conception when the brain starts to form in the fetus. I also think there are good reasons for women to get abortions. And I am not referring merely to the more extreme sides of the spectrum like rape and incest but, also, instances where the biological father leaves the mother after discovering she is pregnant. What if she is unemployed and has no other family to depend upon? Even if she is well off and does not need to rely upon some sort of public assistance program to care for herself and the child, it can be quite emotionally devastating for some women to raise a child without any type of familial support. What if the mother is addicted to harsh drugs like meth or heroin and knows she cannot kick the habit? That can also have devastating consequences for the child. There are a multitude of good reasons for women not to carry a pregnancy to full term.

The difference between abortion and Covid-19 vaccination is simply this: a woman's choice to abort has no direct, life-threatening consequences to anyone living in society at large; the decision NOT to get vaccinated does. The topics are in categories of their own, IMO.
