Sterilizing your GEAR

Whats up everyone I wanted to get peoples thoughts or best practices for sterilizing their gear. Ive personally never done it but it makes sense. I have heard of people boiling vials in a small pan of water with a pin in the top to let out pressure? Ive also heard of people putting in oven? Ive always trusted my sources but reality is shit can happen with underground gear and if there was contamination this would kill anything off....right?

It is all in the filtering - bacteria are the true danger and your gear needs to pass through one fine filter to be truly safe - you don't just push litres through by hand, they can get pretty tough to operate. Boiling has times required to kill bacteria, etc. BTW... the boil it with a pin in the top... why not just put a cat flap on the top, opened for five minutes? Expansion and contraction, you are making a huge gateway for bacteria and boiling water is not as bacteria free as people think. I heat my gear for pinning only and I swab it in a minute after it is soaked so that contraction cannot pull shit back in. The filters are costly, the pumps to make them operate are expensive and if the filter blows out, not a lot of groups have the high standard to dump a load of vials already processed. It takes a pretty big operation to truly manufacture safely. BB and BA are good protection/solvents, but in the end, you are always going to be at risk.
EDIT: I would not be surprised if untrained medical staff cause more infections and deaths than mainstream labs, however. One great thing about this site is the reviews and if there is a problem, people put it out there. Medical institutions try to hide it and cover up with promotions to the incompetent and payoffs to the negligent.
There's always going to be a risk - stick to the large reputable brands that have got continuous good reviews close to 10 years or above, there more likely to have medical machinery/equipment to produce their gear.
I would no longer buy a new lab - likely someone just cooked on saucepan and kitchen oven.
AnonI read the post and comments. I'm gonna tell you what I do, man.
When I get a pack of some vials I first examine them, I look for leaks around the crimps, cracks in the vials, debris inside the vials, anything that would be a health concern. A crooked sticker label on a vial is not a health concern, it's just a common harmless thing.
I then take single use alcohol wipes and I wipe the caps and all around the crimps. I make sure to wipe the neck of the vial around the crimps good too. Then I place the vials standing upright in a clean tupperware container on a shelf in the dark at room temperature.
When I remove the plastic cap from a vial to use for my personal use I wipe the stopper and crimp with a single use alcohol wipe really good. I wipe it again after I draw out oil. So I wipe the crimp and stopper before and after I draw up oil.
I don't heat vials unless the gear in the vials is crashed, and I use a hair dryer to heat crashed gear and it works great. I wipe with alcohol again after they cool down cause hair dryers could be blow out dust particles or something. I don't like putting vials in water or venting the vials. I have found it unnecessary to vent vials, if it needs to vent then you're using too much heat.
I been pinning gear for years and never had an infection or abscess...but I have used countless boxes full of single use alcohol wipes. I also spray bleach cleaner on my counter and wipe it with paper towels before I take my gear out of the box and set it on the counter to prepare my injection. Just be clean. Use alcohol wipes before and after pinning and before and after drawing from your vials.

I appreciate you taking the time to give advice. I personally do almost exactly same as u except i dont wipe down with bleach or anything. Ive been using gear on an off for about 20years with no infections as well so i continue doing what i am doing.Good reliable sources are a key factor as well.
What if it was a toxin or heavy metal not a bug or biologic??? Heating would do shit.
Best to buy from a trusted source, your life is worth more than the $5 you would save going cheap or bottom fishing.
You guys missed my point, it was a question on if anyone did it. Ive never done it nor am i concerned just heard of people doing it and was wondering thoughts.
This is the reason Gear has Benzyl Alcohol in it - to kill off any contamination. If I was buying gear that I felt needed to be cooked in the oven before using it LMFAO - I should probably locked up in a mental home for my own protection
Yea I agree with the rest. If your that concerned about quality I’d find a better/ more reliable high rated source.

Get your stuff from legit brands and you won't have to worry about it. Any quality brand will have clean and sterile facilities.
If you are worried about sterilizing your gear you need to find a different source.
