Glad to be a part of this now

Hello my new friends

Like others posting their intros (c'mon who doesn't read others' intros before posting their own)
I'm guilty of lurking for a couple years before creating an account. Oh and hey, I read the forum rules. That counts for something, right lol?

I'm 27 years old, 5′10″, and weigh 175 lbs, probably 15% fat now. The pandemic sure showed me. I'll start off by saying I have considered myself athletic since I got serious about staying in shape at age 14 although I've been mostly into sports that required endurance above all else. I'm no stranger to hell weeks or hard workouts. However, my current goal is much different than it's ever been.

I want to get BIG & I know I came to the right place! Lucky for me I love reading, research, and am ready to absorb all the knowledge I can get.

The biggest challenge I've had to overcome is increasing my caloric intake. I am lactose intolerant. But damn do I love me some cookies & cream ice cream... If you have any questions, please don't hesitate.

Anyways hope to see you all around !

Hey bud I’ve been an ectomorph my whole life. My biggest size increase over about 18 months was from 155 to 220. Granted I did too much gear and ate a TON of calories involving bad fats. I was young n dumb and didn’t care about physique as much as just “wanting to be big.” I was into powerlifting at the time. Felt like crap after awhile(big surprise right) and got sick of the belly. The best shape I was in was 190 eating super clean and believe it or not, taking LESS gear. I will say adding HEALTHY fats can help add extra calories. A shot of coconut, macadamia, or your other favorite oil (no don’t drink gear !) added to a shake can definitely help. I learned to get as much as my nutrition from actual food as possible. But I did add 2 calorie dense shakes a day. Usually protein powder, ground up oatmeal, peanut butter and the oil like I mentioned. I’ve fought various stomach issues my whole life and if I remember correctly, 10 years ago I believe I found a flavorless egg white protein that was easier on my stomach and could be used with whatever flavors I wanted to add. Anyways, I’m starting over after a long hiatus and our height n weight are very similar . I’m fortunate my metabolism is super high so my body fat is a little lower. Either way, keep us posted. There’s a ton of great info on here. There are plenty of guys that can point you in the right direction. I can definitely advise you on what NOT to do. These things are a great way to get you in trouble and not keep your health or achieve your goals:
-not getting bloodwork
-taking so many compounds that you aren’t sure which one is doing what, and you have trouble mitigating side effects
-putting yourself on a “diet” and gear regimen that gets you size, but also diminishes health...especially your heart
-not having ancillaries until you’re neck deep in a bunch of side effects
Like I’ve learned here, the search function on here has boatloads of info. I’ve only been back on here for bout 2 or 3 weeks and every question I’ve thought to post has ended up being answered by me using the search function. Good luck and keep us posted!

Hi ChrisMdPaNc! Thank you for taking the time to share so much. I really appreciate it!

As a fellow ectomorph I completely understand wanting to put on ANY weight at all even if its not mostly muscle. I actually reached 179 at my highest but i swear 8 of those lbs were on my cheeks and the rest of my fat was all in my belly. I didn't look fatter anywhere else at all.

By taking less gear are you referring to fewer number of compounds or just overall smaller dosage? or both?

I've come a LONG way in terms of eating clean. unfortunately when i started eating clean it led to rapid weight loss of both fat and muscle because i did not yet know how to go about it the right way. now that i know better, i'll eat two avocados if i feel like it. always got calories to spare it seems.

I focus on protein intake most of all, then fats, and often find myself still only meeting 60% of my carb requirements a couple hours before im supposed to go to sleep. But if i eat one too many carbs at night I will get heartburn...then i can't sleep...etc etc.

I've only been drinking one shake per day, and never considered doing more but I'll start with two shakes daily as of tomorrow and see how i feel at the end of the day. See? I'm already learning haha

Props to your metabolism! May it stay that way

I'll definitely keep you posted my new friend. it's always cool when you find someone with comparable stats.

Thanks again for looking out. you rock

Yeah man I’m the same way...I’ve really gotta keep my food dialed in because I can lose weight quick. Nothing wrong with two shakes as long as it’s not a substitute for a time when you’re already able to have a legitimate meal. Well, I should say that’s my experience anyhow and maybe not set in stone for you. In regards to a ton of gear...I meant number of compounds AND dosages. You’d be surprised what a test only cycle can do especially as a leaner guy. I’ve been off a few years now and gonna run 250mg test cyp a week and get bloods and see where I’m at. Orals have always given me good results in the beginning of a cycle but the side effects get to me so I’ll be avoiding them. Especially since I’m prone to stomach issues. The absolute biggest thing I can sugges that has worked for me is have your diet already laid out and be used to it if and when you get on gear. That’s what I’m doing now and come next month, it’ll be an easier transition when I get back on . Already be used to the increased food intake. And don’t forget sleep!!!

Hell Mr. Lactose intolerance!

ApoleJuice's picture

What's up Halsey! You're out here helping left and right. I know there's others too, maybe even ones who already replied to me but I can't deny that I recognize that avatar the most lol. Do you have any foods that don't sit well with you?

Halsey's picture

My oldest daughter got me started on Rick and Morty years ago. Pickle Rick is funny shit!

Chicory root, any high dietary fiber foods( over 10g per serving), non-isolate protein powder, dry roasted peanuts, super sugary foods( like donuts or syrup). All this shit fucks up my guts.

I've had bouts of lactose intolerance in the past, usually following a stomach bug or a virus. I'm a almond or coconut milk drinker typically. Welcome aboard, this place is informative and entertaining. I spend alot of time here reading just about everything.

ApoleJuice's picture

Oh yeah, it's super funny. Rick and Morty is my favorite cartoon aside from Adventure Time. Existentialism galore haha

I'm pretty good about paying attention to the ingredients in anything I eat, but I can't recall anything containing chicory root. I'll have to look that up.

Yeah excessive sugars (but surprisingly not maple syrup) make be feel very bad. I don't eat candy anymore.

So how long does it mess with your guts for? Is it just a few hours?

Thank you! Happy to be here. & when I'm not reading about it over here I'm probably reading about the same on reddit

Halsey's picture

My guts are typically jacked up, 6 to 24 hours. Usually it just needs to pass and my guts need a chance to reset. Chicory root is added to alot of stuff( protein bars for one)for dietary fiber content.

Solar Opposites is pretty damn good too. Me and my daughter watched the whole 2nd season when she was home on spring break from college a couple weeks ago.

OMG!!! Grits, yes!!!

ApoleJuice's picture

You had me laughing at the end for sure man that's a ton of food haha

I've never in my life had cream or wheat and if I'm being honest I don't think I even know how it's made or how I o wild eat it!

The rest of that food sounds so damn good though.
Especially chicken and rice. It always makes my stomach feel happy.
Do you do meal prep like 3 times a week?

META99's picture

I prep sunday’s for the whole week of lunches then have my dinners planned
For breakfast I eat the same wonderful things all the time

Hey 0newheelup! Much appreciated. I tried to be as transparent as I could. I will be posting my old pre cycle bloods as well. I figured the more info I could (safely) disclose, the more it might help others with their comparisons. Results speak above all else right

ApoleJuice's picture

Just did a search of them. they seem active enough that i now wish i had chosen a more unique name oops

ApoleJuice's picture

Hi Rustyhooker! Nope, sorry. I'm not them.

I just chose this name because apple juice is my fav...and ya know, the juice part
