+ 9 Prepped meals for lunch at work.

ad

This is how I make my lunches for work all week because I work 12 hours a day all week sometimes when it gets busy at work. So I eat three times while at work. So if you have a busy schedule like me maybe this will help. I will post how I gain weight to in the weight gain forum in a week or so. I always had trouble gaining weight and want to contribute.

My lunch prep is as follows.

Three mushroom Swiss burgers
Crock pot of chili beef and bean
Rice for the chili
Potato salad
Antipasto salad with ham, turkey, cheese and veggies
A whole chicken
3 large bbq chicken breast
Pot roast with potatoes carrots and onion.

Of course this is only lunch for work all week. I make stuff that I can make leftovers with because it’s hard to cook everyday when it’s busy like this. If you work all week hard like I do this is what works best for me so I’m not up u til 10:00 at night cooking. I go in at 6 and leave at 6 go to gym then shower. So if I try to cook every night I will burn out and have a shitty workout. If you miss meals because you didn’t prep your meals the crock pot and roasting pan is your best friend. It’s quick and easy. With my metabolism I have to eat a lot. I do this every Sunday.

The real expense for a BB is the food. Damn it!

Yes it is. The fucking food bill adds up. But hey I work hard. And since a lot of my family hunts I’m good with meat. Depending on which season it is

Good man, food posts always get a plus two from the Beard.

Food and training is all I got to contribute. I’m still learning about the gear. Wanted to give back some tips for the common working man that works a job and tries to squeeze eating and training into a busy schedule.

Man I love that song.

I really gotta get better at prepping again. I’ve been buying way too much at work. Thanks for the ideas and reminding me to get back on my prep game

Just down the road from my work we have an excellent taco truck, if I do get a little bored with my routine I hit it and get 6 bbq lamb tacos. It's hard to resist going ever day but I typically let that be my Friday treat.

Dude I hear you. there’s a Mexican food truck down the street from my work. 9 bucks for a borrito bowl with extra chicken... it’s a solid 2.5-3pbs of food. Hard to resist on a bulk especially.

Thats a lot of bang for your buck right there. Same at mine too, that's why I like it so much, tacos are $2 each so I can buy 6 and eat 4 at 12:00 and save the other 2 for 3:00. I get off at 5:00 so it holds me until dinner.

Life gets busy. So a garage gym just helps balance it all out. I have a membership and my garage gym. I use both about equally. Deffinately worth it, especially when my kiddos want to workout w me.

Meal prep is the way to go, but when ur working those hours it's a life saver. I do my meal preps on Sunday also. I'm more on the carb side vs fat. I work 12hr and then pretty active evenings. So I fire up my gas grill and throw down. Flank and chuck steak, chicken breast, and pork chops. My veggies consist of a bag of mixed color, grilled asparagus, brussel sprouts, and carrots. Jasmine rice and baby potatoes.

5-7oz meat, 200g veggies, and 60-80g of rice or potatoes ( optional two tsp of beef gravy).. rough estimate 450cals/40+p/40+c/5+f....

I do try to mix it up, same shit gets boring. Bout to buy a pressure cooker and utilize my crock pot more.. Thanks brother..

Mine is very similar. I do 3 whole chickens per week in the crockpot, and enough lean beef tips for 2 days in the crockpot. I do rice every two days, 8 cups, and have 4 cups per day - Jasmine rice, I like it best and seem to digest it better. I switch up sometimes with potatoes and sweet potatoes. Sometimes I also buy the big 12 packs of pre-pattied fresh hamburger from Sam's club and grill them all at once and eat on those during the week. We have a toaster oven and a microwave so I wrap my meats in aluminum foil and heat in the toaster and warm my carbs in the micro. Veggies vary week to week but I mainly eat carrots, asparagus, green beans, or peppers/onions mixed. I can't do fish at work, stinks up the office and a lot of complsints, lol. Coming from people who eat taco bell and mcdonalds and crap every single day.

The crock pot saves so much time. I use it all of the time. Saves me hours of cooking. I eat veggies too. Grow em myself.

Forgot to mention I also keep a thing of quick steel cut oats in my desk drawer, a box of cheerios, hot sauce, almond and cashew butters, syrup for eggos, and a fresh loaf of French baguette bread or loaf of multi-grain wheat. In the fridge I keep a carton of fat free lactose free milk and one 2% lactose free milk. The fat free i drink with my meals and the 2% i use for my cereal.

I never get hungry at work, lol.

I grow asparagus, tomatoes, and peppers.

Hell yeah, that's a must.

The whole chickens I put in the crockpot I inject with zatarains Creole butter marinade and sprinkle various Mrs Dash seasoning on the outside like a dry rub. Takes just a few minutes to prep then just walk away.

Bill1976's picture

Yes when food gets bland the hot sauce helps you get it down. Makes it taste better. I keep a bottle at work too.

herpjunkie111's picture

For whatever reason hot sauce and Jasmine rice just go well together. I've used it on other types of rice but for some reason the above is just a much tastier combo.

Well I’ll take the burgers and salad to work one day then eat the chili the next on lunch and break then the next I might bring the chicken. Then when I get home my wifey will have dinner made. These meals are for the whole week so I do t have to cook every day.
