+ 1 Hair loss or gain during AAS? (More AAS,genetics, stress or age? Or all 4)

ad

When I first started aas in 2008 I used to try to grow a beard but all I could muster was a skinny chin strap. I mean real skinny. After a couple years I grew a full beard and maintained since. So hair growth was part 1. Now on the last 5 years my hair is thinning on the top around the hairline. I know it's not genetics because my father is 76 with full head of hair. Whats your experiences with growth or loss or do you see a trend with different substances?

Eagles 2013's picture

Unless I am mistaken, most of your hair loss genes come from your mother's side. At least that is what I have been told. I have always been interested in this tough because I have no clue as to my genetic disposition. My mother's father died in his mid 40's when she was 4 years old, so he wasn't really old enough to hit age induced baldness. So, if I do go bald I really won't know how much, if any is attributable to AAS and how much is genetics.

That all said my best friend has never touched AAS in his life and he was naturally stark bald by 24.

From my own personal experience I'd say if defo comes from your fathers side genetically and all the AAS do is speed up the already balding process. I was balding at 20 before any steroids. The DHT based ones making it way worse in a nutshell.

I hope so because my father's dad passed away in his 80s with a full head of hair.

Not true. it comes from your kids.

That I will agree 100% hair loss and high blood pressure

Perfect! I have no kids, so that should mean no baldness ;-)

If I ever do have a kid who is born bald hopefully mine starts growing at the same rate as thiers

Steroids do not make you bald.......they will only speed up the process bro it's all genetics.

Dht attaches itself to the hair folical and slowly causes the hair to fall out.

So when on cycle or certain compounds =

more DHT = faster hairloss

Makes perfect sense. There is strong non-balding genes on my father's side but my mother's is up in the air. Her dad died in his 40's, she only has one brother (who has his hair into his 60s) but no living male cousins.

Frankly, as long as I can still grow a beard I'm not very concerned about it one way or the other.

All right guys, here we go-
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).
I'm gonna keep this sweet & simple.

This is a follow up to the pics I posted below.
I will take all this info at a later date and start a new thread, so it will be easy to find. To be clear once again, the pictures below are not of myself, but a friend who just started PRP and had that result after 4 weeks. This is what he did, the costs he aquired and the obvious results he obtained.

So PRP, is the procedure of using your own blood platelets to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate your skin.

When you go bald your skin cells and hair follicles don't die, the are simply lacking the required nutiuents to sustain growth.

In laymans terms , you are taking your blood, adding it to an anticoagulant and separating the cells by way of a centrifuge machine, leaving you with red blood cells at the bottom and protein rich plasma at the top (that is the gold you are after).
At that point you now take the rich plasma at the top and draw the freshly spun mixture into a 1cc Insulin pin and spot inject ( SUB Q) into your scalp in the desired area. This is exactly what my friend did and grew reults for the fraction of the price of using a hair treatment specialist. Now to break it down for you and go over each part.

First and most importantly you will need access to a nurse/ Dr/ some sort of physician, to draw the blood that you will need to separate. BE SMART about this people, don't let your new girlfriend who is in her first year of dental school play Dr on you. (My friend has a family member who is an ER nurse so he has readily available access to help when he needs it).

Next, before you even make an appointment to pull blood you need to figure out how much you need/how often you want to inject to re-stimulate. He had 2 vials pulled his first round (each vial yielded 4 Insulin pins after it was spun with the anticoagulant). You can refrigerate the whole blood you had pulled, and save some to mix with the anticoagulant to administer at a later date. I would start with 4 vials pulled if you are going to properly refrigerate 2 vials for a later use. Now generally once you spin the anticoagulant and the protein rich plasma you administer within the hour, even though the anticoagulant chosen for the procedure preserves the platelets for 6 hours.

Now that brings us to the anticoagulant. When speaking of PRP or ISOLATING PLATELETS, there are 2 types of anticoagulants that come to the table
First is the 3.8% Citrate, which was originally the most common used coagulant used for PRP. Second is ACD-A. This has now become the choice for PRP, and is also what my friend used.

So after you have your whole blood it is time to mix it with the anticoagulant and spin it in the Centrifuge Machine ($47.99- link for this and all other needed supplies will be at the bottom of this post). You take the 2 vials that you just mixed put them into the machine spaced evenly apart and spin at 35,000rpm for 8 minutes. ( Make sure the levels in each vial is approx the same volume so the machine doesn't spin out of wack) You will now have a vial with separated blood. The vial will have red blood cells at the bottom, the dark stuff and the Protein Rich Plasma, the light colored liquid gold at the top. Draw off the Plasma from the top and start filling up insulin pins. You can take the dark red stuff and respin it to get out anymore rich plasma that you didn't get the first time.

Now sterilize your injection area, (I would recommend having someone help with administering the serum) and inject SUB Q to your scalp in the desired area for re-growth. Keep moving spots and injecting in the desired area until you run out of serum. Re-sterilize the area. KEEP IT CLEAN, no bandage necessary.

THAT IS IT...

Now many immediately ask how often can you administer? My friend administered 2 vials, waited 4 weeks, took the after pic, then immediatly administered 4 vials in one round. We are waiting for the 4 week mark to post the next pic.
Since you are using you our platelets you could essentially administer almost daily if your scalp can handle it with no irritatation. My friend does state that it does sting a little as he is administering, and yes he is administering by himself in the mirror.

So that brings us to something that needs to be said again. I AM NOT A DR. THIS IS NOT MEDICAL ADVICE. My friend is not a Dr. You should talk to a REAL PHYSICIAN before you start doing bodily experiments to your self, and RESEARCH this topic for yourself. Blood Infections CAN KILL YOU.

Now that leaves us to the cost.
*Centrifuge Machine: $47.99
*Anticoagulant ACD-A: $28.00
*Empty Sterile Blood collection Vials: $15.00 ( if you need to provide them to a Nurse/ Friend, to save whole blood for later)
*Blood collection supplies:$ ( can find all over the internet including the same company from the eBay link below)
*1cc Insulin pin: $15.00 ( either 1/2" or 5/16")
*Sterilization supplies: $5.00
*The Nurse/Friend or Dr/lab costs: $$$??? to pull the whole blood. My buddy's Nurse/ Family Member does it for free.

So for less then $100 my friend grew real fully dense hair in 4 weeks time. Compare that to a Hair Specialist.

Well people that is the gist of it. I hope this helps. If anyone is going to take the next step, I am available to go further into detail and help where I can.

Best of luck-

( I am having problems posting pics/links from a phone. I will post them next)

Great info bro! + on your comment below. I’ve done a lot of hair loose treatment research and never came across this so I find this fascinating. I believe it’s always good to advise caution but with that said I don’t see any problem with drawing blood yourself if you hve proper equipment and sterilization supplies

I know you said that you would post this here but I seriously think this deserves a new thread of it's own. +2 and if I could give more I would.

I will be posting this in it's own thread in the near future. You brought that to my attention last time and your absolutely right, it needs it's own thread.

At the moment, I'm having problems uploading pics from the phone that I am using. Once I get access to a desk top cpu I will redo it the right way.

This info is very good bro. Looking forward to the thread. Fr sent. And theres another ++

Thanks pal, and though it's not about the karma for me, it is still Much Appreciated. Shawn0712 thank you as well.

shawn0712's picture

+1. Good stuff. I look forward to hearing others results. I also wonder if there are other benefits where tendon inflammation is concerned. I’ll definitely keep my eye on this one.

Commish's picture

I'm glad you brought that up, tendon inflammation.
I didn't want to steer off in this thread, but that is something else being tested at the moment. PM me when you get some time.

shawn0712's picture

Definitely will.
Some of this stuff just amazes me. Like the stem cell injections. They’re taken from our own bodies, and put directly where we need them. I may be going out on a limb, but reading up on this, it sounds like the collagen production and any inflammatory responses could have beneficial results. Maybe the best cures are already within us, we just need proper manipulation.
Definitely make a separate post on this one. So far, I still have my hair, my temples are just bigger. Lol. I’m sure there are a lot of people that would be interested in this one that won’t see it on another post.

I can tell you he was using PRP, with blood pulled from his Dr. and spun at home with a centrifuge machine.

At 26 I couldn't grow anything on my face and had a full head of hair.

At 27 and now I'm 29 I've got a solid beard and still a full head of hair with no signs of thinning. No clue on what contributed to the beard.

Haha my best friend had a beard down to his chest at 24 and a back that was hairy as a bear's... But he was already naturally bald on his head. He has never used AAS, so we theorize that he didn't go bald, his hair just migrated South.

Any DHT derivative will do that. Proviron alone will be drop your nutz an inch.

AAS = less hair on head and more hair on back and everywhere else you don't want it.

Eagles 2013's picture

I haven't noticed any thinning on my head yet, but it damn sure started growing in fields on my back and shoulders after I started using AAS. I also have extremely thick hair though- to the extent that I have have my barber thin it when she cuts it, so there is a legitimate chance that it is thinning and just not noticeable yet....may need to stop asking her to thin it!

shaun1's picture

I've noticed that. I use to never have hair on my upper back or shoulders but here the past couple of years since I started AAS's its sprouted out. Its nothing major or bad as of yet but it sure is there. I also can tell my beard has become fuller and thicker. I have what the call a widows peak hair line it looks like Count Draculas hair line for the ones that don't know. For the past few years its gotten a lot worse and goes back even further than it use to. I can't 100 percent put it on gear but I can't say for 100 its not due to gear. I also wear a hat near about 24/7 only time it comes of is bedtime or shower and I have a bad habbitof of I guess you can call it tipping my hat like the cowboys use to do in movies when they met a lady silly I know but I do it non stop its just a nervous tick I guess and I know this has probably played a big role in my hair line reseeding. I really should ditch my hat but I feel naked without it and people would never recognize me without a hat. Hair loss doesn't run in my family really just a few distant relatives

Bro, I never had back or shoulder hair until I started using AAS but it comes in fucking fields now. Haha I pay one of my buddies $10 every three months or so to Nair my back. I don't trust anyone else back there with a razor. Something about having someone run a razor across my body and not being able to see it kinda freaks me out.
