HGH reconstitution/conversion Please Help! Confused...

ad

Hey all,

So I'm new to this site and could really use help understanding what seems to be a VERY confusing topic when it comes to reconstitution of HGH. I am currently prescribed Omnitrope which has come in 5.8mg vials. I'm to take 2 IU's per day.

My question is two-fold:

1) How man ML of Bacteriostatic water to add to the vial (I've seen so many different variations of what the appropriate amount is) and how many IU's will that yield.

2) Once reconstituted, on an insulin syringe what do I pull back to in order to get ONE IU worth?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thank you so much.

Hello Sir,

So your Doc has prescribed you a hormone ( names are not allowed to be mentioned on forums according to eRoids rules) and told you to take 2iu a day or you came up yourself with this number, sounds a bit weird to me?

Regards

Well, ....... this is a question that your health care professional should have covered with you.

We here, are only internet doctors, see the one you paid money to.

You can be a dick all you want my man.

Wasn’t a matter of not knowing how, but more a wanting to better understand the exacting math.

Yeah he has my go to guru for such question.

I try to buy things that don’t make me do math problems over 10 numbers so I can use my fingers.
Hahahah Sometimes I have to use my toes when my abacus is broken.

Good question to ask your pharmacist. When you picked it up he should have went through all of that with you.

That way you will end up going to 20 on insulin syringe to give you 2 units. Let me know if this made sense it your confused

Thank you very much. Makes complete sense. Assuming the vial is 5.8mg then from what i understand 1mg = 2.7 IU which would make the vial approx 16 IU. So I would reconstitute with 1.6ML of Bac water and each 10 pull would be “1 IU”

Thank you for the clarification!

It's confusing at first. Once you figure it out it's a piece of cake.

Indeed! Appreciate it.

Yep you got it. Be safe

If your insulin syringe goes to 50 that is 1/2 cc or ml.

Insulin syringe if it goes to 100 then it is 1ml

If it is 18unit vial you would put in 1.8ml or 1.8cc. If it's 20u vial you put in 2cc or ml. Then on insulin syringe each 10 is 1unit.
Do not do this until your sure you understand.
