Bad News for TOR and VPN Users

ad

I guess this doesn't matter much if you consider the NSA's Project XKEYSCORE. I'm sure they've also been able to crack VPN for quite sometime now. More interestingly, I read an article around a year ago about a TOR programmer colluding with the U.S. Government for money; the guy literally showed them how to get around TOR's anonymity.

Anyway, Here's The Link Explaining The New Law: https://themerkle.com/fbi-can-obtain-a-warrant-if-you-run-tor-come-decem...

I'm sure privacy was nice while it lasted, although I am beginning to believe more and more that I never had it.

The US government has complete control over everything electronic.
I believe that they really have this control to collect intelligence they definitely use that intelligence to make busts but most of it is highly classified so they can't even admit that they collected it the way they did.
Im not so sure about Tor and vpn being so safe and anonymous. Like you said the us government created it so wouldn't they have a total control over it? Im not a tech guy so I really don't know that much about it.
Good post though wish I could +1

No karma needed. It's all about getting the word out to those less knowledgeable about the U.S. Government's technological capabilities. As an example, I know a few people who believe they cannot be monitored by any government as long as they use a VPN. These same people are not doing anything illicit, I should add, but they do appreciate their privacy. With the new executive order signed in April, our information now goes to the governments as well as corporations. Internet privacy is dead.

I wouldnt be surprised if Tor was owned by the secret service of American from the beginning.

You're not far off. TOR was actually created by the United States Naval Research Laboratory (see link). However, I do believe until recently it maintained anonymity for its users as long as they followed certain protocols.

It does not really matter the world elite will take over just a matter of time.

No problem:

2) https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-joint-resolution/34/...

If you go to the actions tab of the second link provided, you will see that the president signed off on the bill. I hope congress.gov is not fake news.

Eh, whatever. Life is too damn short to worry about things I have no control over. Best I can do is stay low key here and IRL and keep my mouth shut. If that fails, it fails.

I understand what you're saying, bro. The world governments are going to do whatever they want; we have no control over it. But it still sucks. LOL!

So the only way to keep ano is using socks5?

Christophany's picture

I'm not certain if that would work. I'd have to do some more digging to find out.
