+ 1 Just advice on TRT and lipid profile

ad

I have lifted for over 10 years. I haven't always stayed close to my a strict diet. Always very clean diet with occasional wing stop on Sunday during football season. My journey started finished as always a big deal but two years I began really get strict on diet dropped from 281 to 205. I lost the majority of my strength in that drop. So I got on a few test cycle. And put in about 35lbs. I gained a little body fat but not much. Pct was always clomid and nolva. For 4 weeks. The last cycle I added hcg. After my last cycle I took 9 months off after my and when to get blood work when I started planning another and my test naturally was at 200. This was a major surprise because I didn't see much fatigue just not many results in gains and muscle mass. My lipid profiles have always been decent besides on cycle. Well I contacted my dr to he ended up outing me on 125mg of test C every 5 days. and mood and libido incr ease and gym sessions got better. Overall wEll being was up to. My last blood test after 6 weeks on 125mg had my level at 853. Only issues is my lipid profile is taking a giant dip. HDL low LDL high . Any advice from previous TRT patients that have similar stuff or solutions to increase that. Currently taking fish oils. Cuq10 and vitamins. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Do you have any bloodwork showing your T levels before you did any cycling?

Pwood2316's picture

Yes naturall my test level were in the 415-455 ranges before cycle. Then after a 9 month brake I went and got bloods with 220 total test and high lh and fsh they were both in the 14 range

were LH/FSH high precycle also?

Pwood2316's picture

No they were in the normal range

Talk to doc about dosage adjustment and research how hCG can make a difference with balancing lipids...the info is out there on the internet...TRT to men is like menopause to women, once we shut down our ability to make LH, we start seeing secondary issues in the BW. +2 for coming here with this question and posting it up...it enhances the learning process....

Include Niacin in your vitamin regimen. What's the dose of fish oil you're taking daily? Also, it would be good to see a Thyroid profile, SHBG, Estradiol and free test...

I go see the doctor in week on the 8th to talk about it. Fish oils I take one 1400Mg pill in the am and another one at night. My overall cholesterol wasn't out of wack just my HDL and LDL were you opposite of they should be. I will ask the Doc about checking out those other things. My last test had my Estradiol at 36. It was within normal range.

Increase fish oil to 4-6 grams. Our bodies need LH to function. When it's low we see nail and hair problems, but on the inside we can't see degrading cell structure. We see it on bloodwork and other objective data that pertains to what LH is responsible for helping make function in the body at the cellular level.

Awesome thank you will increase my dosage.

That's a daily dose...my bad for not being more precise...

Just like you went to your doc about low test, I'd go to your doc about this one too. Lipids are at least as important for long term health. Good luck and keep us posted. I'd be very interested to see what he says. It is football season, where u out drinking/eating wings the past few weeks?

Pwood2316's picture

Yes I'm going to the Doctor on the 18th to see what he thinks we should do. The wing day didn't involve any beer but lots of wings and Fries. One night of heavy drinking in the past couple weeks but other then that I think I had two beers another night. Not a giant drinker just occasionally.

well that's good. good luck and keep us posted

I'm concerned for you and your situation and it reaches beyond your direct lipid imbalance. I'm confused as to why you went onto trt, to be honest? you said you didn't even realize much fatigue or other tell tail signs.

WHy didn't you try other methods to restart your HPTA? there are options that sometimes work. going straight to trt and so quickly leads me to believe you haven't grasped the full reality of the situation and roller coaster ride you are embarking on.

youre only 28 and to decide so young and so quick to go directly to trt sounds like a mistake to me.

I went through complete misery and hell for years, tried everything I could before I started to begin to accept the fact that trt was my only inevitable option. I exhausted nearly every option in hopes I could find a way to avoid it because it sucks and its a life time commitment....

how long have you been on trt?

Pwood2316's picture

I didn't realize many symptoms of low T besides the not much progress in the gym. I went in for a routine blood work for a physical and my numbers came in at Total Test 220 and my LH and FSH were high in the 14 and 15 range. At that time I had been 9 months Free of any anabolics. after last cycle I did 6 weeks clomid/nolva. I felt ok afterwards but wanted to give my body a break. Then when it came time for the physical and my numbers were that low so I got nervous. Went to the doctor and looked at the bloods and did numerous test showing similar results. Doctor said my body is telling it to make more testosterone but its not. He said my testicles are just not responding to my bodies signals and said trt is about the only option to level everything back out. Trust me the last thing I wanted to do was go on TRT at 29. I have been on TRT for a little over a month and half.

shiva: " I'm confused as to why you went onto trt, to be honest?"

Pwood: "Well I contacted my dr to he ended up putting me on 125mg of test C every 5 days."

Real Dr trumps Internet Dr everytime.
