END OF CYCLE BLOOD TESTS - Arimidex and HDL?

ad

Just wondering if you guys would help with a little input on end of cycle bloods

Hormones:

Total test >1500
Estradiol 14.7 (7.6-42.6 reference range) was 14.8 before cycle
LH ans FSH were zero of course because I am shut down

Cholesterol/ Lipids:

HDL 38 (was 50 before cycle)
LDL 120 (was 111 before cycle)
Total Cholesterol 175 (was 177 before)

I am wondering if use of armidex might have caused the dip in HDL ? I ultimately got up to .5mg EOD to alleviate sides.
I understand that my estrogen should have been slightly higher on cycle than off so maybe the arimidex dosage was too high?

What can I do to help restore HDL to normal levels?

I tried Aromasin while on cycle but it never seemed to help the side effects so I switched to Adex. Maybe the aromasin would be a better option for future cycles if I can get the dose dialed in?

I tried to upload the blood tests but the site won't allow .pdf files

Any help is appreciated.

I have read arimidex can have a negative impact on lipids, but cant confirm source. AAS in general will negatively affect lipids, so this is likely why your bloodwork looks like this. The folks below got you straight...eat clean, and continue exercise and you should bounce back in month or 2. Shitty lipid panels is a norm while cycling and something accepted as "cost of doing business". Obviously if it gets too out of whack it needs adressed immediately. I dont think your levels currently are at that point.

What compounds and doses did you run?

THE_MECHANIC's picture

Test E only 500mg/ wk with a prop taper at the end.

I ran various doses of AI but ultimately found .5mg arimidex EOD to be best for sides. I am thinking it was too high?

I am thinking it was too high?

To high as in you crashed your estro?

THE_MECHANIC's picture

Not necessarily crashed but lowered it further than I should. I don't have symptoms of low E and my levels are in the low end of the normal reference range. It was exactly the same at the end of cycle as off. I read that it should be slightly elevated while on cycle?

It's different with everybody. Some people prefer levels 25-30. This helps with a higher level of water retention leading to better bulking gains. I've heard some say even slightly higher than that but depending on the person they may be getting estrogen sides like high BP and or nipped sensitivity. Personally I get insane nipple sensitivity once my estrogen goes over 27 so it seems that 25 is my magic number.

Make sure after Cycle you bring that level up to at least 20 or it may impact you bone mineral content, especially if it remains low long term

THE_MECHANIC's picture

The only way to bring that up is natural aromatization of your natural test, right? My test levels were around 400 before cycle and estro was 14 before.

Not sure how I could bring it up other than somehow increase natural test (HCG, clomid) or TRT?

MedDx's picture

There are studies out there online that speak of how hcg positively impacts the Lipid profile.

THE_MECHANIC's picture

Interesting. I assume it is in the context of TRT or an alternative TRT therapy rather than on cycle? I will look into that.

MedDx's picture

I believe it was a group of men and women, mainly women, that showed successful results improving the Lipid panel. The dose was 250iu/wk for five months...peptide is fragile...probably takes more to get same effect after using it one time...

shiva4's picture

Yeah you will have to rely on natural aromatization. That still a low number ,14, everyone is different though. Perhaps the hcg will help a little since it has a high rate of aromatization but I'm skeptical it will stick since your bodies homeostasis will kick in.

Just be careful with using ai's and you may not want to use oneither during pct

Blood work will be VERY important for you. You may want to get bloods pulled right after pct and then again 4 weeks after pct is over

THE_MECHANIC's picture

My natural test levels were a little low so I guess it makes sense that estro would be low as well. I plan to continue monthly blood tests to keep everything in check.

I appreciate all of the help!

Steroids have been known to negatively impact LDL/HDL/cholesterol levels. You're levels did change in a negative direction but not super alarming but at the same time they should be a focus. I'd say get the same panel about a month after your pct has finished. In the mean time eat oily fish and take a low dose of niacin, especially if you aren't consuming enough in your diet.

My guess is, you you do this and don't eat a lot of fried foods between now and your next panel, your levels will.be closer to what they were efore your cycle

Thumbs up...

Bingo! Get off cycle and get plenty of Omega-3 and you should be back to normal in a month or two.

THE_MECHANIC's picture

Ok. Thanks. So it might have been the test too, not just the adex? My diet is pretty clean and I am adding a couple grams of fish oil starting today. Hopefully everything comes back to normal. Got a family history of CHD, so I definitely don't need cholesterol issues.

I tried aromasin at first at various dosages but it never seemed to hep with the sides so I switched to adex.
