Hi all looking for some help with shedding weight.
Height : 5ft
Weight :213
BF: 40%
Yeah i know...I'm in a pretty bad way...and hence i really need some help. I don't really pig out on junk and stick mostly to chicken and fish and veggies and the occasional brown rice. I usually don't have time for breakfast and if I do its a protein shake before work then lunch and dinner. I started taking a couple of classes at the gym (body pump x 3 a week and body step x 2 times a week if anyone goes to good life u know what I mean). What else can I do? My stomach is really really flabby and massive. Its probably my biggest issue. Sorry if its tmi lol but hope you girls can help!
Thnx!

Everyone has given you really good advice! From someone who went from 225+ (I stopped weighing myself at one time) to where I am now 163. Its a hard journey but it can be done. What I did is slowly cut stuff out of my diet instead of all at once. Stopped sodas, than fast foods, sugary drinks, candies/snacks. Slow and steady is what you want for lasting results. It sounds odd but you do want to eat more frequently. I kept snacks at my desk like almonds already measured into servings. drank water with something like Mio or tea bags though out the day. I tried to eat my lunch relatively quickly and take a walk on my lunch hour. If you can, try and fit a walk in before you go to work as well. I never used to be a morning person. Sadly I used to sleep till 1 or 2. Now I wake up at 3am gym work dinner prep for the next day and bed. It all takes time took me roughly 2 year to make it a happy habit and I've kept the weight off for a bout 4ish years now.
One thing for me, was I really didn't take macros or calories when I first started. But Logged EVERYTHING. So I could see what I was really eating than once I saw what my diet actually was I got into macros and calories.
You're right, I threw out the scale n started up my myfitness pal app. I really should throw in a walk on my lunch break...sitting behind a desk all day can't be healthy! Love your name BTW it reminded me of a family guy episode where Brian gets ripped...shquadooooooshhh!! Haha
Really any activity you can squeeze in so your not just sitting all day is great. As far as the name my guy is on here too and he's Squadoosh, but I think he did get it from that lol
Another thing you could do:
1) Query Harris Benedict Equation and calculate your BMR with and without activity.
2) Like Gymjunkie said below, keep a log of what you're doing and eating.
Bring the data from (1) and (2) above, back here, and post it to this forum. From there, we can continue. Thanks.
Check out Catalyst's link, too:

Hey, thanks. My BMR is 1741
With activity it is....?
FR sent
Its 2501 with activity
Everyone started from some where bro. Trust me I know, shit look at my pictures of me at 40% bf.
Personally I kept it simple at first because I didn't want to make it complicated and then give up. Only carbs I had was in breakfast and small amount before my workout and plenty right after. Cut out sugar and sodium out of my life. Stuck with veggies, chicken, eggs, turkey, fish. No carbs after 5 like our friend just said. Drink water and more water and then more water!
Good advice. So u had carbs at breakfast and after working out? I'm just curious how to make that work for me cos I workout in the evening cos I sit at a damn desk all day. Maybe carbs in the morning only?
Eat a banana before hand then to get some carbs in you.
Ahh u mean before or after the gym?
I eat one before because it's natures power bar. It will at least give you some carbs with out eating to late. I'm sure there are more experience bros that can give better advice. That's just what I've done after my nutritionist advise me to do so. I have been consistently losing weight so I believe his diet program is accurate for me.
Holy shit somebody actually wants help and isn't looking for a mirical drug to do it.. First of all I commend you it's hard to ask for help like livelife sad lots of good forums . But here is what I advise you to do before starting anything , keep a journal for 2 weeks and wright everything that goes into your mouth seriously and the quantity . Do a starting weight and then end weight and then we would have a better idea of the calories your consuming and how many your expending because of your exercise log you will keep
Haha yeah I honestly have gotten sick of trying tricks abd fads and being disappointed. I just want to try good old fashioned weight loss! I just got myfiness pal to use as a journal.
I could post good links all night. Go to forums and under weight loss there's a lot of great info.
My .02 , 1. Eat breakfast, can be light but you need to eat to get your metabolism going.
You need to eat more, sounds off but you said you eat basically two meals a day n a shake, try 5 small meals throughout the day, keeps your metabolism in burn mode
Cut carbs after 5pm, this helps me a lot when cutting as I'm an endo n hold carbs like crazy.
Turn up the intensity, crank up the treadmill or push harder with less rest between workouts. You'll burn more calories hitting it hard for 30mins than you will doing a set then catching your breath , changing the song, grabbing some water, etc.... My point, crank up your intensity while you train n the weight will drop!
Good luck with this, remember, if it were easy everyone would do it! Helps to make small goals to hit with one big one at the end...
Example: set a goal to lose x lbs per two weeks (realistic) then set your six month goal at whatever your goal weight is... Track n succeed!
Hey thank u! This is some damn good info. I seriously have been feeling like I read and read all this junk online and this is the first bit of info that actually makes a ton of sense. Iv got my macros calculated and will post them soon along with some kind of a meal plan for the week.
You're welcome! Sounds good, n good luck
