+ 2 vacuums

ad

So lately I've been really busting my ass in the gym and really focusing on the midsection as of late. Hanging knee raises , crunches , decline sit ups , rope pull downs basic run of the mill core exercises bit my midsection looks better than it ever has. Been digging and watching a few videos on vacuums just curious if anyone here has used the technique and if it has given you results? Trying to get a little flatter just to see how far I can push it and just found out the wife and I are expecting twins so I'm trying to mash in what I can for the next 9 months because once they're here my.gym routine will have to slow down a bit. Any tips or info is much appreciated. ..thanks!

Unfortunately when I came in here I was going to tell you to get a Dyson...

Good reading info though!

I heard vacuums only work if you say SHOOP AHH while you're doing them.

Nice find brother Rusty! Real old school bodybuilder known as "The Iron Guru" back in the day?
Vince had a beautifully muscled physique and one of the most aesthetically pleasing physiques in the sport!
Right up there with Frank Zane!
I have no luck posting pics, I hope this one takes! :))

I'm going to try these. Dumb question, I assume you hold your breath? Crunches and leg raises hurt my bad disc area st L5.

Thanks

Thanks. PS, having a son definitely affected my schedule on everything. I now lift 3-4 days a week. Its worth it though. Good luck.

I have a two year old and you are right about that. I now go to the gym at 5:30am daily so I can spend my morning before work and evenings after work with my son. I noticed that early gym has given better results anyways. Congrats!

What's up cdyrdes been a while man. Wanted to say congrats on the news of twins. Better be smashing the weights now while u can, cause next thing u know you will b smashing diapers instead. Congrats ...

cdyrdes's picture

Yes sir it's been a while and hope everything is good on your end brudda. As far as the twins go ...lol....it was definitely a shock for me but I'm game mam kids are awesome. I know once they arrive I'll have to work in a new training schedule because the wife will definitely need a hand but I'll figure it out. I'm actually in the process of building a garage / storage building out back 30x30 so I might just get some equipment and put in there that way I'm home for the most part.

Wasn't Arnold the one who started the trend of vacummes. Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe so. I'll tell you one thing it does help. Fuck the yoga

cdyrdes's picture

Not sure bit I wouldn't doubt it , Arnold and frank both had great midsections in their time so they were probably utilizing the vacuum

At the beginning of the year I decided to shed bf becoming more aware of my waistline and midsection. Have been doing vacuums every morning out of bed. 4 times held for 15 seconds each. To date I've lost almost 4" on my waist. I have also noticed that by mid day where once my gut would become distended(food, relaxed core) that it stays firm. I swear my posture is slowly becoming better due to the intense sucking in and tighening of my core every morning. Every little bit helps I think!

cdyrdes's picture

Yeah the few articles that I read some Said it was best to do 1st thing out of bed while you're empty and I agree on the belly being distended mid day after a couple meals. Kinda makes you feel like you're doing all that work for nothing sometimes..lol...thanks for the info bolt I'll keep it in mind

I have been doing the fuck out of these lately too. It has been a couple weeks and maybe it is just in my head but I think they are working.

cdyrdes's picture

Any particular way or you just suck in the Ole root beer belly when you can?....lol

I exhale until I cannot go any further, by that point you should be able to feel the "belt" of muscle you are targeting. The articles I have read talk about working your way up to 60 seconds. Now, I have not even made it anywhere near 60 yet. 20 is pretty difficult. One article really recommends doing them while you are in bed, first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for best effect. But they also say to do them several times a day. I get a chance I will find the T-nation one I just read a few days ago.

cdyrdes's picture

Yeah I tried a few times today and 15-20 was my limit, I'd like to read that article you're talking about if by a can post it up when you have a chance man no hirry.

Thanks for the link big man , got it saved as a bookmark

That was basically what I was getting from most of the videos and suggestions. One guy I checked out says he does it while driving . I've recently changed my routine to a basic 6 day split. MON,WED,FRI I work opposing muscle groups and TUES,THURS,SAT is cardio With Sunday as rest day. Just looking for that extra tweak for my core
