+ 3 the lost art of zottmans and hammers!
Like almost everyone who gets the iron sickness at some point in there life, it's usually formed with an admiration of size, lifestyle etc. Few things stood out in my mind as a kid, my brother who had huge shredded arms, my crazy uncles that would get out of quentin and look 4 weeks out lol and i already knew how i wanted to look. What did i want, huge friggin arms!! Now there are several theories and sets and structures you could debate cables vs barbells, ez curl bars, whatever, but one thing that got my arms big and the only way i feel you can really grow, HEAVY ASS WEIGHT!!!There is something gained by the stress that hard lifting puts on your muscles that can't be formed any other way. My basics we're always heavy dumbbell and barbell curls, there is no substitute for the iron, and i learned later the benefit of high volume and training for the pump and shaping or peak, but for shear size here's what worked for me besides the usual basics, Hammers, usually four or five sets with 55's for about 6 to 8 reps keeping my wrist turned in and almost pulling a straight line from thigh waist level to upper pec, I also love doing a lift that has lost a lot of notoriety in most peoples routine but fashioned by George Zottman, the Zottman curl, if you have never done these you will feel burn and be toast three sets in lol. The Zottman starts like a regular alternating dumbell curl but at the top of the contraction you hold and reverse youre wrist back the way it came by slowly lowering weight palms twisted out, you will build the upper forearm and what i call toppers and help give your arms that thick massive look and you will actually have forearms that are proportioned to your biceps, i see so many guys even top pros with horribly underdeveloped forearms but above the shirt sleeve are freaky, so i just wanted to add these two thing hammers/zottmans for anyone who wants to throw a change into there arm day and really benefit from there power and remember to train heavy on hammers the zotts you can benefit and kill the muscle at a lower weight and slower contraction so start slow then work up. All my love and respect-

My favourite is the one arm pinwheel curl, rep range 8-10 !
shiningstarnice! yep pinwheel for sure gets the pump going i always turn my wrist in doing hammers most times so pinwheels are the shit for sure.
Very good points and nice read. I love the Zottman lift. I will be adding to that for sure.
shiningstarthanks brother, yeah man zotts honestly have developed my upper forearm like no other and you can feel them working, definitely worth adding to any arm day.
