+ 1 Peak week water manipulation solutions
Not sure where to post this, and if you say ladies lounge I'll slap you. There's no traffic in there. Anyway, I had my first show last Saturday and blew peak week because when it came time to water load going from 1.5 gallons to 2.5 gallons triggered my migraines and I spent 2 days puking and feeling like death in my room. I was unable to dry-out and ended up looking puffy onstage. Frankly I looked better in my pre-peak week shots than I did on stage, even the judges agreed after my coach and I showed them pictures. My coach and I do not talk gear, so she's not really offering me any solutions.
I was thinking of running some clen to deplete my glycogen and hopefully not look as puffy. It makes me shake though. Not so bad that it would effect my performance on stage. I also have good old Xpel but took it at the last show and don't feel like it did shit. Next show's in 2 weeks so I am limited to what I have on hand. I have other things but clen is the fastest acting. Thoughts?
Also the judges said I needed to be softer and fuller, didn't like that they could see my glute tie in from the back (WTF) so maybe I don't need to dryout at all? It will be the same judges at my next show, not sure if that's always the case but out here it's almost always the same judges. So since they were pretty clear in what they wanted I'd like to give it to them, I dropped all cardio (coaches orders) but I just want to make sure I dial in fast.

Not certain about your surprise there you are competing in Bikini and several people have indicated on your posts that the need to look muscular is NOT the look for Bikini ...
"Frankly I looked better in my pre-peak week shots than I did on stage"
This is were people mess up. Go through social media and look at competitors picture before and after peak week... they looked SO much better the week before. It's simple over thinking. It's trying to manipulate an anatomy that's starving and stressed and exhausted. It'll never work... I have a philosophy that if you look great 2 weeks out DO NOT CHANGE A THING. what happens is this "peak week" throws something totally different at the body that causes stress which = cortisol. Your body doesn't no wtf is going on besides it doesn't like it and it wants to hold on to everything it has (at that point you become watery) and gives you a flat appearance.. people say oh I need a cheat meal to fill out my body needs it... no you dont. Your body never craves Mc donalds, or pizza, or peanut butter (it doesn't know what those are). It's craving "fats" and that's where these urges come from. Coaches screw up so bad giving competitors cheats anywhere 3 weeks out from a show. Your body is starved and exhausted by that point and your nerves aren't in the best of shape... it's a huge risk to play with....
I never deplete fulling. I pull my water down about 60% and from 3 weeks out I don't change a single thing beside my carbs per meal depending on how I look... and that's sweet potato and brown rice.
Don't change anything if your looking right coming in... "don't change it if it's not broken"
P.a I hate dueritics too lol...
I agree. Now lol That was my first peak week, this next show there will be no peak week. I'm doing everything normally right up until showday
Absolutely 100% agree with the above statements.

RustyhookerIf you deplete your glycogen you may end up flat. Loss of muscle fullness.
And if they didn't like your bunz muscular then drying out too much is a hindrance.
I'd wonder if an androgen would fill your muscles the way you want? Pull in the subq water with it?
They'll judge her down a ton if she gets that lean brother lol. They will push you right to the back of the pack wife went through it before , to hard and conditioned you get judged down its not like women's bodybuilding or physique where you have lean tissue you need to show off. Bikini will judge you down if your too muscular, too conditioned, posings off, stage presence (aka holding a smile), jewelry's off, suit is off , hair stylings off, tan is off. They will judge you down for soo much shit in bikini hence why after soo long the wife moved to physique where her physique does the talking.
RustyhookerSounds so much harder than bodybuilding. Shredded and full you'll get judged equally. Bikini and physique too sounds very complex in judging. Tough sports for sure.
Bikini and figure have no real set standards other then the suit , heels, posing, jewlrey, etc etc one set of judges could like one thing another show somewhere else it could be drastically different that's exactly why the wife got out of it. Nothing like working yours ass off and than watching someone who's barely worked in the gym take the win. Bodybuilding, womens bodybuilding and physique to an extent the physique does the talking the higher you go tho politics kick in. Being marketable and what you do in your personal life etc etc
RustyhookerAgree! Out here the guys boardshorts comps, the dude are fairly rocked. Another state they want beach body.
Sounds like lots of potential for fans and contestants if they'd get a real leadership and standards.
Its all about ticket sales brother NPC/IFBB love their money. Anyone can compete.....
RustyhookerAlways follow the gold.
I support your goals but I just cant do the stage to get the perfect physique. Were you happy with your results? As long as you know that you can improve is good enough for me. Keep working hard, over come your challenges, and stay focused on the best you possible... Also cant limiting your water dry you out with some consistent short HIIT cardio? When Im my leanest I cramp crazily everywhere, my hands, abs, legs, toes, lats, I wonder if its due to not enough water but I strive for a gallon of day. Do you cramp when youre your leanest?
I've decided not to dryout at all. I need a softer look for bikini
Sounds like you want to achieve a look the judges arent looking for..so i think you either do what they say and come in softer or you move to physique where i think you would be happier and you build is better suited for
No I want to do what they say, I just get confused with all the terms. I feel like I looked bloated on stage compared to how I look today. I am softer today, after days of re-feeds and water. It's just being used to the harder look before I feel weird now.
Water depletion is what I'd say the best way to come in dry and be safe at the same time, when you start taking things like clen and the other unmentionables you run the risk of cramping up on stage, I'm sure you've heard of people taking clen and getting cramps in the hands etc, just picture getting cramp when your water is low and electrolytes are out of balance....not great.
You could try sodium loading but you really need to know your body for this work correctly, you could try this in the off season and see how your body reacts rather than but it into place 10 days out and having it not work.
If you can...try and master the water depletion method and again get your body use to this in the off season so that it's not so dramatic come show time.
This is your first comp so take it as learning curve for next time and change what's needed until your bang on the money so to speak....it gets easier with each diet and each comp in the way of knowing what works for your body and what doesn't. ..you almost end up growing into the completion if that makes sence....
Plus one for looking good in your pictures
Sodium loading is not something you recommended to figure and bikini....
If they want you to be softer then why exactly are you trying to come in dryer? They'll judge you down as bikini and figure its not about coming in hard and grainy. That and if that is what they told you and you come in dryer you'll show them you don't follow direction and politics will come into play....... Your water intake should've been 1 1/2 to 2 gallons daily all off season and the night before you go from that to 0.3 liters or less. If your water manipulation was of throwing clen at the situation is not what you need.....did you run clen your last show as I saw you purchased it in your review? In my opinion it is not needed in bikini or figure maybe at pro level but definitely not at lower level shows.
See that's just it, I'm not sure what I'm doing. I love my coach but she's a physique pro. Not real into bikini, I came in hard. I loved the way I looked but the judges thought I needed to be softer.
It looks like you're at a bit of a crossroads here. What you want to look likes doesn't tie in with the bikini "look" as Tony said. You've done a show now and know what to expect, you'll have learned a lot. It's fine tuning now according to class / type.
I'm willing to do what they say, it just feels weird. It's hard to soften up after weeks of trying to be hard lol
100 percent ....it's all about learning with each comp prep
If you want send me a pm. I've prepped a few bikini and a few figure women but you need to prove to the judges that you can make changes and follow direction if not they will stop paying attention and politics will come into play. If your serious about trying to get s pro card you need to be up the judges ass and showing improvement every show. If not your wasting your time and your money.
Yeah I'm serious about it. I'm just confused as to how I looked so different on stage, I'll shoot you a pm and show you the pictures I'm talking about. They also said to change my hair and tan. I'm going to change it all, I aim to please lol
Your hair shouldn't cover your back like it did and shouldnt being all puffy.
Go into groups under contest prep its all covered in there.
