I recently discovered grilling, late to the game I know. Since I am new at it, I would love to hear your grilling tips and recipes. Charcoal or gas, you know just all things related to grilling.

I grilled a lot of meat yesterday, mostly chicken but also some burgers. It all turned out great but it made me wonder about cross contamination, is that an issue on the grill? Normally I would not be cooking beef and chicken in the same pan.
There is no cross contamination on the grill as long as you heat the grill up to 400 before putting any food on it.
Ok, made some rings this weekend, definitely not for the cutting diet, but I only make them once a year. Smoked for 4 hours. Check them out

AnonChuck a piece of fish (salmon, mahi, etc) onto a piece of foil.. Cover with lemon, seasonings, little olive oil and vegetables (asparagus, zucchini, eggplant) and fold the foil to hold in the ingredients but leave the top open- think like a basket, minus the handle. Throw a few on the grill and just let them sit. The fish won't be dry and overcooked (as long as you watch it). Add some brown rice (which can be cooking as you're hitting the grill) and you have an easy, healthy dinner.
Also, grill is an awesome place to knock out your food prep- grill all of your chicken, meat and fish. It's easy & doesn't require really any clean-up.
Rub a little olive oil on your steaks before you season them. This way the seasoning will stick to the steak and your steaks will not stick to the grill. But just a little. If you use to much it can start on fire in the grill. And if you ever have a grease fire in your grill use baking soda to put it out.
I use propane. Like the low and slow approach
George Foreman grill. Quick & easy as phuck! Steaks, chicken, zucchini, bacon you named
I like propane grill get them nice and hot then take you favorite wood chips(very little) and put in foil it will smoke and give flavor. Where I'm from there's mesquite everywhere, I also like apple and cherry wood. As for seasoning I use salt pepper garlic powder, the a1 rubs are great. But it's all about not over cooking so your meat is juicy and tender yummmm
IronMonkCharcoal aaaaaaaall day long!!
Favorite way of cooking by far!!!!
Gas ain't shit I wanna deal with...
X2. Charcoal tastes a lot better but gas is just so much easier, and I'm lazy.
Charcoal smoke has given me migraines and I remember reading that you were prone to migraines. Ever have any problems with it?
It makes shitty boneless skinless chicken breast actually taste good. I wish I had a grill.
Go get a little charcoal grill, or you should try a pressure cooker. A pressure cooker will make even the crappiest meat taste good.
Lol I just got a George Forman. It tastes a lot better then boiled chicken. But idc I just eat it for the nutrients it's never gonna taste good to me. I'm a unhealthy fat kid at heart I love pizza chinese burgers fries all that stuff I hate eating chicken fish and that shit I just love the results so I do it. But if I could I would eat shit for every meal of the day.
I hear ya, I would be a total fatass if I wasn't so vain.
Beer can Chicken!
Stuff a half can of beer (ginger ale I'd nice too) I. A whole chicken. They have beer can Chicken stands you can buy. Rub olive oil over chicken and rub favorite seasonings.
Cook on convection (outer 2 burners on low, middle burner(s) off. Try and get temp to 370 area for 75-90 minutes.
Google it! Super moist and taste is amazing!
hunteron20sWhat would you like to know ? I compete in bbq cook offs ribs brisket chicken ..gas grills are good for steaks and lean meat that needs super high temps short cook time ..
The temperature/times are what I am trying to figure out. That and good grill marks, I made burgers a few days ago and they kinda sucked, how the hell do you f up burgers lol They were just brown, no grill marks, it was my first time.
hunteron20sBurgers are easy lol flip only once so you dont drie them out ..grilling easy now. Bbq smoking is harder but easy to master the skill
Aww smoking food is awesome. I had a friend years ago who was great at it, I never missed his parties.
hunteron20sLets just say I have won 1st in chicken and ribs 1st as well .I can show you how to cook a chicken fast and super tasty. Brine the chicken night before ..I cook at over 500 degrees 40 min tops .alot of pros do it same way ..I cant post of my meats we turn in or I would show you more on what it should look like
Your grill is not hot enough. Red meat like steak and burgers can be cooked on anything over 400, I actually like cooking at around 600-650 for steaks and 500 for burgers. If your grill is not hot enough it will dry out your meat. High Temps sear it and keeps the juices inside.
Good to know, I had a feeling it wasn't hot enough.
charcoal tastes better imo but gas is quicker with less mess. an with the amount my wife an I need to cook then eat the constant charcoal and cleaning would be crazy. less is more in the long run if you compete that and think smarter not harder lol. I personally love grilling because its a nightmare to cook everything we need in our small oven , then cleaning all the pans ,plates and silverware. theres nothing like firing up the grill every other day or every three days for our red meat , chicken or fish verses firing up the oven and heating up the house and creating a mess. with the grill all we have is the mountain of Tupperware from our meals during the day.
Could you put charcoal on your gas grill just for flavor?
