+ 6 Skin care, anti-aging/anti-acne

ad

I've noticed some questions about acne, collagen, and just general skin care so I thought I would help out a little. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years and tried everything you can think of. If you've heard of it, odds are I've tried it lol What I learned is there are a few very basic things you need to keep your skin looking good.

Cleanser: Don't wash your face with the same soap that washes your ass. I use non-comedogenic products as often as possible. Well what does non-comedogenic mean?? Calm down ED, I'm going to tell you. It helps if you break the word down, ya'll know what non means Smile comedo means pimple, aka acne. So, non-comedogenic basically means it will not cause acne. My brand of choice CeraVe. They sell it everywhere, it feels great and you could stop there it has a moisturizer in it.

Moisturizer: It's not just for girls!
Again it needs to be non-comedogenic this is a key word in skincare. But moisturizers also need to penetrate your skin not just sit there so look for one with hyaluronic acid. WHAT, I'm not putting acid on my face lady! Well think about this, you know how a baby has plump smooth skin? It's because babies have a high level of hyaluronic acid (http://blog.doctoroz.com/oz-experts/why-you-should-care-about-hyaluronic...) It will hydrate your skin, smooth lines, and give you a fresh healthy look. I go with CeraVe, I use their PM version day and night I'll get to why in a minute.

OK, so those two things could be the end for many of you. But if you want to reverse aging or eliminate acne keep reading.

Vitimin-C: It's like magic I tell you! If you google Vitamin C you will see swarms of products promising to erase ten years off your face, brighten skin, cure acne, remove age spots the list goes on and on. All of these claims are TRUE. Every damn one of them, but here's the kicker that shit they sell in stores for $100 a bottle is complete crap. Sure it has vitamin C in it, but guess what? Vitamin C is a tricky little fucker that degrades quickly so that $100 bottle of cream is only going to work for a few days or weeks if you are lucky. They didn't tell you that when they took your money did they.
So what's a girl to do, well you make your own. And you know the best freakin' part? It's SUPER DUPER cheap and it works like magic.
Buy the raw C powder here, http://www.bulkactives.com/categories/vitaminc.htm then it's as simple as mixing it into that awesome CeraVe PM lotion you got. But it is very, very important that you only mix it with the PM. If you get crazy and mix it with other things you will get a chemical burn. You may also just mix it with water. You'll want to wash your hands right away for some reason it turns your hands and nails orange.

Ideally you would have a digital scale and weigh it all out but who has time for that? I keep a shot glass in my bathroom, add water sprinkle in some C powder and buy the time you are out of the shower it's ready. More is not better, do not burn yourself it should tingle not hurt. 20% powder is the max I would start low and work up. If you want an actual recipe PM me and I'll send you one. I love this shit.

I use vitamin C on my entire body, it mixes well with Nivea's q-10 lotion I make a 30% solution for my body. You only need to do it every few days, your skin absorbs it and holds on to it for 3 days. (http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2009/may2009_Revitalizing-Aging-Skin-with...)

Vitamin C is essential to collagen production. It tightens skin and erases lines. I love love love it.

What about acne!! Well I got so caught up with wrinkle care I almost forgot. Retin-A, first DO NOT USE RETIN-A WITH VITAMIN C YOU WILL BURN YOURSELF BADLY!!! DO NOT USE IT IF YOU ARE NEARING A COMPETITION!!

Simply put, this shit works. (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/30/fashion/30skin.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0) But I can tell you first hand it's going to make you look worse before it makes you look better. It works by peeling away your skin. Ever have a bad sunburn and have your skin flake off? That's what this does, for about 2 weeks you look flaky and red. I would hide out someplace dark and warm, and stay away from children you don't want to scare them.

If you stick it out, in about a month depending on severity you will have beautiful soft, smooth, new skin. Your face/body gets used to the rentin-A, you no longer look flaky and scare children. Your skin is flawless. As a bonus your new skin is also wrinkle free, sweet! This stuff is pretty awesome. You can stay on it, lower your usage after the first peel until you find your happy place. But it makes you sensitive to the sun, and may have some ill effects on your liver so I normally do it once a year during the winter when I'm hiding out from the cold anyways. I have used the same source for years, but it's probably not ok to post here so PM me if ya want it. They sell all kinds of other shit too.

This turned out longer than I planned, but those of you who stuck it out I thank you. Next time your wife/girl is about to drop $100 on skin cream tell her all she needs is Vitamin C, then mix her some and blow her mind. lol

Great post buddy. I like to keep an open mind for everything and it pays to listen to the lady's in your life when it comes to skin care. My wife got me in to vitamin c in my early twenties and it completely changed my acne situation. I haven't had any since and my skin is much smoother. Recently she got me started on the hyaluronic acid and retin a. A few other things are copper p peptide, dmae, and elastin.

I think moisturizer is something even I need to get serious about. We spend all this time lifting weight to build muscle with very little consideration for our skin. +++
