Who talks to their doctors about their use?
ad
Does anyone speak openly to their MD's about their AS use? I was raised in and have lived in many countries around the world and I have seen different views on the topic. In Canada and the USA I feel like most people wouldn't tell anyone about what they were doing. If you could talk to your MD in confidence, what would you ask them about ? Side effects, blood levels, dosing, etc...
On the same note and maybe it would be a good topic on its own, if you have already spoken to someone about using, does your doc seem competent talking about AS?
Thanks!!

If you have any concerns... any side effects.. tell your dr
If your doing a cycle and have no issue.. then no need to
Dr will always say they don't recommend it - legally they can't say go buy drugs anyways
if you cycle I would get bloods done before and maybe after.. if he she comes backs and says theres a red flag.. you can explain what you did and then they may so ok, then lets re visit the issue in 1 month etc
I tell my doctor nothing. One slip of a key on the laptops they carry around the office and my medical insurance will be TERMINATED. I need the protection quality insurance provides. If I had a psychiatrist I wouldn't tell him anything either. Not even to a priest in a confessional if I were Roman Catholic. I trust my UGL in Eastern Europe more than other people in my life with any and all info pertaining to AAS use. Of course I trust my trainers and consultants as well since they help design my cycles. LOL My wife doesn't even get the details. One slip of her tongue to her girlfriends at lunch and the sheriff could be knocking at my door.
It's different here in the UK, there isn't the insurance aspect to consider. I can tell him anything and it's confidential. I'm lucky, my GP is a great lad. Goes to my gym, often asks me how to do certain things etc.
I am not originally from the UK, but living here now I notice a huge difference here than what I have seen in America. Some city's in the US are getting better with an influx of new testosterone clinics popping up who are advertising to an older population at the gyms. I was recently in San Antonio Texas at a lifetime fitness, and they had a "T" clinic representative with a little booth set up in the gym! I spoke to him and he let me know that for 15 dollars I could come make an appointment and get my free T tested and if I fit the low T mold they would prescribe me what I needed. It absolutely blew me away! I find it refreshing that people are now more open to the truth about the importance of testosterone in a man's life.
i tell my doctor everything -- just as FYI Dr's are under an oath to NOT speak to anyone about what you tell them or what medications your on etc -- check out the HIPPA laws... they can't even legally tell your wife unless you gave specific permission
I told my dr about HGH, test, and winny
he told me to stop taking winny... he wasn't agains t Test (esp since I gave blood prioor I and was naturally on the lower side.. so he would give me 1cc a month of text cyp/// now i just do a cycle on my own
I didn't read anyones replys below yet.. but my personal opinion is disclose everyting -- i'm sure he/ she will say you should stop... mine does bc i think he has to say i shouldn't take it... but i have him review my bloodwork and everything comes back ok
my 2c.. reach out if any specific questions
hope that helps
His records go to your insurance company, which can deny future coverage due to your "illegal" use of aas.
I know someone this happened too. They were denied coverage later for something.
If you talk with your doctor,,,I would ask them to keep it off the record.
Maybe that should be a discussion that is better to have in a cash clinic where you don't use your insurance?
Who's paying cash for all of their doctor visits in the US? I wish I could tell my doctor, but the implications, due to insurance companies, is too great.
I had to pay cash when I was in the US, no insurance for the poor. Most providers have cash discounts of 50%. It sucks though.
My only point was that cash payments and visits would be a short term solution, due to cost.
I told my GP and in return he sends me for blood test every 6 months and one the last test sent me for an ultra sound so I could have my liver, kidneys and splean checked for abnormalities.
Gp's are not really well informed on the us of steroids but they have the powers to help out if shit starts to go wrong.
Next GP visit tomorrow in fact
I recently told my doctor about my gear use. He didn't really have a clue about steroids. Had to get a book out and read me the negative side effects of test, like I didn't know this already lol. He suggested I quit steroids altogether, same old lame advice I'd bet a lot of doctors spew out.
Mine did the same thing, I told him I did tons of research before i started to ensure safe practice and that I don't take high doses compared to most guys and he said "well you didn't do enough research or else you wouldn't be using them" haha He also was glad i told him and wants to do more routine follow ups to make sure i'm good to go so even tho he wasn't happy and only offered the negative side to AAS he still was looking out for me
I do
What kind of help does your GP give?
Being open with her made her understand why i needed trt. Now she prescribes me trt. She was against men on trt in their 30's but now understands why.
bigwillyany one who values there health !!
I just told my doctor about using at my last visit. He's been my doctor since I was a kid so he was glad I told him, wasn't exactly happy haha it's better to be open, and after you break the ice then you can talk and listen to what he's got to say. He told me about side effects I already knew about then I got a blood test that day and scheduled for another one in a couple months..
Thanks for your reply, do you know what hormone levels he is monitoring when he does your blood tests?
I told my former doctor about my AAS use and a few months later I get a kidney stone and go to him he does nothing I told him I had severe pain in my lower back and running into my testicles and he does nothing his nurse comes in and says I can go no tests no prescription. A couple days layer the pain is so bad I go to the ER and they do tests and I have a kidney stone a little smaller than a skittle they do lithotripsy and it passes the ER doctor told me it could have blocked and urine can back into my bloodstream. I told the ER doc about my visit to my PC doctor and he looks into it long story short he thought I was faking it to get pain medicine because of my AAS use. But not docs are like that though you should tell your doctor for sure better safe than sorry
Time to go searching for a new GP... try looking for one that will put your health first, and not his own beliefs in how you should live your life. That is not his place. Do you mind if I ask what country you live in @Mark111 ?
