+ 31 Missing a week of shots?

ad

Needing to go out of town either on vacation or work can sometimes hinder a cycle. I have a theory that I believe can help eliminate a drop in plasma levels below the median or steady-state as it were. Before I get too deeply into this let me just state that this is a theory based on half-life mathematics and pharmacokinetic area under the curve maximization. Half-life math can be read and understood here Half-Life Math. Area Under the Curve (AUC) can be understood here Maximizing Cycles
The only way to know for sure if this theory or any theory in bro science for that matter holds water is to actually get labs drawn every day to every other day to measure plasma levels compared to the theory.
That being said, for those that read my post on maximizing cycles have a little bit of an understanding of what the AUC represents. In that post I talked about a standard test E cycle at 500 per week for 12 weeks. I then discussed and illustrated what a frontloaded cycle would look like.
See illustrations 1 and 2
Typical test E cycle at 500 per week

Illustration 1
Typical frontloaded test E cycle at 500 per week

Illustration 2

Notice how the spike at the beginning of the cycle allows us to come down into a steady state more rapidly giving us a higher median dosage range. The median dosage is the average in the steady-state this is not the overall average.

So now let me pose a situation wherein we had to leave town at week seven of a 12 week cycle and could not take injections for that week for obvious reasons. So you have front loaded the first two weeks of your cycle and weeks three through five were a standard 500 per week. Now our concern is that by not taking injections for one week our plasma levels would drop out of steady-state below the median dosage and thusly fluctuate our levels. In Illustration 3. I show you what a front loaded cycle would look like without doing anything at all and skipping one week.
Typical front loaded cycle missing one week

Illustration 3

Notice the numbers at the bottom of the valley’s are 699 mg before missing one week. At the end of that week you would be at 375 then picking back up slowly to 619 by the end of the cycle. I think this could be detrimental to our gains. The median steady-state here would be 740 mg.
Now imagine if we knew in advance what our schedule was going to be we could load up again during the week prior to the week off. This would spike the plasma levels significantly over the median range. What this would allow us to do would be to not allow the drop in plasma levels to go too far below the steady-state. The following is an illustration of an additional 500 mg during the week prior to departure. See illustration 4.

Typical test E cycle with mid-load

Illustration 4

Now pay attention to the milligrams dosage at the bottom of the valley’s with a mid-load. At the lowest point your 508 which is significantly higher than 375. However, it still takes the remainder of the cycle to reach just 639. Considering that our median range for this cycle is 807 mg steady-state 639 is significantly lower. So this may not be the optimal way to achieve our desired results. The median steady-state here would be 805 however the fact that it takes so long to get back to desired levels after the missing week would be more of a deterrent for me.

If we were to consider an additional 500 before the week off and an additional 500 after the week off the profile would look like illustration 5.

Typical test E cycle with mid-load and reload

Illustration 5

Here we see how quickly we spike back up to the median range and in fact the median state for this cycle would be 892. This would be higher than our original steady-state had we not taken any time off.
While I am not advocating randomly increasing dosage during cycle, I am suggesting that in the unfortunate circumstances that sometimes occur, you can adjust your cycle accordingly. I myself would not attempt this for high dosage cycles in excess of 1000 mg or volatile substances such as tren or even Deca. But I would easily do this for a straight test cycle or equipoise cycle.
Thank you for reading this.

Just out of pure chaos and other situational circumstances, my dosages have often been all over the place and to be honest, I actually did quite well on cycles like that.... not advocating it, but I have indeed seen bennefits from sporadic spiking of dosages.

I've experienced similar. I wonder if we have less issues with estrogen as we get older or don't notice as much...

Glad to see this post. If you did not know why to front load now you do.

Solid post if I ever saw it. Thank you I found this extremely helpful.

As always cry the write ups from you always hold immense value.

Wow! All I can say is thank you. I have been looking for exactly this information. This is really useful stuf. Thanks again!

You are welcome. I am glad you like it!

Cry you blow my mind with the knowledge you have and the ability to plot it out like that. Makes it easier for a novice like myself to understand it.

betz7's picture

Beautiful plots. Someone's an engineer, I am guessing oil/gas? Good info brother.

cry_havoc's picture

Thanks! Civil/Structural actually!

betz7's picture

Well, if you come to the dark side (oil/gas,) you will be a shoe in. We use frac-pro, it's easy pezzy.

Assuming you got the math right, (And I'm sure you did.) this is great stuff! ^ this right here is why I love this board! I cant explain how proud I am when I see guys with big guns display that some of us have big brains too!

You would love my post on multi ester compounds than!

What an amazing write up. Very Interesting how front loading the week before missing can actually stabilize levels again. +1

I agree. Back when he wrote it I could only give him +1, it is still one of the best write ups in eroids history so here is another +15.

Well deserved bro

So I am running a 12 week 500 mg / week test E cycle and ran out (Someone threw my vial away) after the first shot of Week 4 (Just as I was beginning to notice some solid gains!) which was on a Saturday (I pinned 250 mg). I'll have access to test E. again from the second shot date of Week 5 which is a Tuesday, so a total of 10 days in between shots, with the last shot being 250 mg. I really feel fairly shitty and my appetite is dropping down too like crazy too along with my gains.

So in 3 days I'll be doing my shot again, I'm thinking of a 750 mg shot Tuesday, and then I'll add 500 mg extra to the next two additional shots which will be one week from today (Saturday) and again on the following Tuesday. I'm hoping this will bring my blood levels back to steady-state and I am willing to extend my cycle an additional 4 weeks (At 500 mg / week all the until the end after the loading is done) to compensate for the lack of gains / decrease in gains in the missed period.

What do you all think?

Greg's picture

I think at 23 you are too young to be using AAS.

I also think most of your gains/appetite/mood is in your head.

You are talking about using more than a gram of test to make up for a relatively short break using a long ester.
Your levels before your break (in theory) would be around 800. after your next 250 shot it will be around 600.
Just pick up where you left off. You'll be back on track at weeks end. Anything more will catapult you WAY BEYOND what you intended.

I share this only because I hope you make the right choice and not harm yourself.

My advice is to stop (make sure you understand PCT)
Spend the next couple of years researching and learning.

cry_havoc's picture

Listen to what he is saying. I agree with him. You are not talking about that big of a jump in the long run. Half of the reason why so many people make such great gains is because mentally they believe they have the edge so push harder. Gear is only an aid not the absolute end all. I encourage you to lift harder and eat cleaner and learn all you can so you can stay in this game a long time.

X2 Greg!

gymratk's picture

Nice article. That explains why my gains after missing a shot slowed so much. I did not think it would have such a profound affect on blood levels.

wimpy1's picture

Awesome read brother! This will definitely help me out ...I now understand half life much more with the graphs... Thanks

Shizzybizzle's picture

+1 that's the exact info I was looking for thank you very much Smile

cry_havoc's picture

Hey Rusty how you been brother?

Yeah I have actually done this now and found I had no issues for just 10 days. Things seem so much simpler when they're done by the numbers.

Nice, how did I not run across this before. +1

Good shit. +1 for no ven diagrams

Thanks for the info, I may have this very situation in my future. This gives me something to consider!

snuka2012's picture

Interesting and thought provoking. I've never had to skip a week, but I think more than few people here have needed a workaround. Anyone volunteer to see if this theory works in the real world? Smile +1
