Need some advice on a possible injury or just scar tissue
I had my appendix taken out when I was 14. I'm now 42 and back in the gym. One day I woke up and started feeling pain close to my rather large scar. If I'm sitting still it does not hurt but when I bend over or lean over I get sharp pains there. It feels a lot like a pulled muscle but just not as bad. It's also been there for a week. I'm still working out. Doesn't seem to bother me much when I'm lifting. Only when I make certain movements.
Anybody have anything similar before? Could it just be painful scar tissue, pulled muscles? I'm really worried that it may be a Hernia. Sometimes it hurts around to my side as well.
I'm going to the doctor but thought I'd ask you all to see if you've had any similar experiences.
Thanks in advance!

After 30 years, it's certainly healed, ha.
Either a strain, or something else. My gallbladder shit the bed a couple years ago...
I was reading that the scar tissue strands can attach to muscles and organs and when you work out it can tear the strands causing pain.
Thanks for replying. Sorry to hear about your gallbladder. I heard that's painful.
Strained Oblique.
Thanks. It feels better with rest but gets worse as the day goes by. I really hope that's what it is. Now that I think back, I remember it started hurting after using the Oblique machine
I've had 2 hernia surgeries... not fun. But mine bulged in the groin area. Not much pain or soreness while lifting, but I do remember certain movements provoking pain or a tearing/burning sensation. Know that's not much help, get to the Dr. I still have some weird pains from time to time, probably from the mesh they put in me... also notice my scars itch ever so often???? First surgery was at 23, Second at 39.... damn, I'm 47 now... time flies!!!!! Good luck ;)
Thanks for the info. It's sounding more like a muscle strain. I can deal with the pain. Just worried about it being more serious. Going to the doctor to gain some peace of mind.
The time sure does fly. Look at you though. You're 47 and still in the gym. It's awesome.
But I forgot to mention I go to the gym for the juice bar and guys in spandex!!! Whoa, wait... girls in spandex.... GURLS!!!!!! LoL!!!
