Wrist/forearm pain
ad
The last few days I have had this intense pain in my forearm and wrist. While doing my reps no pain but the second in set the weight down and release it i get this horrible pain that shoots from my wrist through the outside of my forearm. Wrist feels fine after workout is done but the outside of my forearm hurts to the touch. Any ideas?

good old tendonitis bro, coming and going, off and on here for years. the more inflammation the worse it is. I actually forced myself to take a break for a few weeks focused on legs 3x a week. when I started my split again I stayed in higher reps, lighter weight for a month and damb it man if it finally got better, it's been about 8 months since that last flare. best wishes amigo!

I was getting it few years back squeezing my grip to hard to push thru with heavier weights. Effin hurt. Relaxed my grip after time off and better.
Thinking def about lowering weight and just hit legs super hard for a couple weeks.
Do you have any like little knots in your veins around that area. I'm just wondering. Tendonitis is likely as well. You taking any Antiflammotory. I'd ice it then warm the area for a couple of days and I'd take a Tylenol before my workout or even a Bayer or Aleve
I am extremely vascular and got a few knots here and there on the forearms. Will try that out bro.
Tink22Stop curling heavy n take a break from it altogether. Maybe take a few days off gym. If not when you let go of the bar before the pain hits release your grip slowly it doesn't hurt as much. I've had this before when I thought curling heavy was fun.. It's not light weight gets it done just as well. Good luck
Rustyhooker+2 yes!
Gotcha been lifting heavy lately. But even when I try a slow release its painful as hell.
I struggle with that constantly, curls seem to aggravate it the most..doesn't hurt when I do the curls but once I let go of the bar I get that pain..shit sucks but I've just learned to deal with it
RustyhookerTry switching to ezcurl bar. Might help. Straight bar curls kill my forearms
Thats been my mentality at this point. I know its gonna happen so I just release, deal with it and get ready for the next set.
Same here man I brace for when I left go cause I know how painful it's gonna be.
Thats the exact feeling bro. I know eventually im gonna have to put it down.
I think a lot of guys suffer from this at some point. You could try one of them forearm straps for tennis elbow, they usually help. Barbell curls seem to aggravate this condition the most, one trick I found that worked for me was to slowly release the weight instead of just dropping. I am not sure why it works but it did. Give it a try.
That worked at the beginning of my workout but towards the end slow release or just dropping it had the same pain. Thanks for the heads up on the strap have seen a few of the monsters in the gym using them.
One other method I use that seemed to help out a lot is to do all my back stuff before I hit biceps. I almost forgot about that and why I have been doing back and bi's that way for yeas now lol. Do your pull ups, rows, etc and it will warm up your biceps in the process and lead to less pain.
Nice. I have usually started wi bi's then hit back, but that actually makes more sense to kinda warm them up so there not just slammed right away. Will definitely give that a try. Thanks bro.
Not saying you have this but with me my forearm is nerve damage and wrist is carpel tunnel.
I think this post is the root of your problem: http://www.eroids.com/forum/general/general-talk/might-be-too-much-info-...
Give it a rest! ;-)
Lmfao...but I thought 15x a day was normal.
Id say tendinitis like wild fyre, what helped me was to wear a wrist splint designed for carpal tunnel while I slept
Will def try that out bro. Between that and the Motrin Wild suggested. Thanks again guys and gals.
That's tendinitis. Motrin will help. I've had it before and with time it went away. Doesn't really hurt while doing things but hurts like a mother when you let go!
That is it. As soon as I let go of the weight it is extreme pain. Thanks for the info.
Yes mam under tension it's fine but as soon ass you unload thats when it starts. Comes and goes for me
Good to know it will go away. That shit was painful tonight. Wanted to end my workout but just kept going, I kept thinking "just dont put the weight down and youll be ok" but when I started to walk out of the gym with the dumbbells it got weird haha.
