Fine tuning diet macros
ad
Ok I'm currently hovering between 215-218. I've been logging my foods and have my macronutrient break down like this: 5200 calories, 650g Carbs/144g fats/325g Protein
MY question is should I up my protein? Or should I just up my carbs.
I don't use protein shakes by the way, it's all strictly from foods.
Goals - 235-240lbs hopefully around same bodyfat% which is about 13-14% right now can see abs

id definatley lower carbs and fats a tad and up your protein. btw long time no see bro, its me ( revenge85 ).
Is agree with lowering the fat down and uping the protein a bit. I usually try and keep my macros looking like between 40 to 50% carbs( depending on my goals and amount of cardio) protein between 30 to 40% and fat usually always 20%. But everyone is different and the only way to know is by process of elimination
yeah I like to eat 10 eggs in the morning which is 80g fat so that only leaves me with 40g of fats for the day which is not much if I need 350g protein.
See what I mean? I mean a steak has a good 30-40g fat alone. Fish has 44g fat for 12oz
I need more than 120g fat thats pretty much impossible for me if I do any less
waltrI'd try both and see which works better.
Say 2 weeks with more carbs and monitor the changes and then 2 weeks with more protein instead of carbs.
We all know that no two peoples bodies will react the same so it's kind of difficult to say "do this and you'll get the results you want."
IMO you could drop your fats down to 115 so it's only about 20% of your total calorie intake and replace those calories with protein. So that's another 67 grams of protein you can add everday. But at the end of the day 325g of protein is plenty so if your enjoying your diet and making good gains stick with it. But over the years of bulking both naturally and on gear I found the gains I make are the leanest when I keep my fat no higher then 20% of my diet.
