Looking for advice on possible stomach muscle pull??

ad

Hey guys .. I was getting on to decline bench this morning to do sit-ups and as
I went to lift my leg up
My stomach muscle I believe ...bulged out.. It was a very strange feeling and painful.. I immediately got up and stood straight .. It went back down ... I went to bend over and it happened again... I've never encountered anything like this and not sure
If it was a possible hernia? I left gym and haven't really moved yet ..it's sore
But not really on pain.. It's my lower stomach muscle I believe .. On the side .. I'm sure some one knows about this.. I'm leaving for
A 10 day vaca tomorrow and don't want to ruin
My trip by pushing myself I'm any way.. Any advice is very helpful thanks

I've had 2 hernia repairs and frequently get ab cramps. They look similar but are completely different. When I had my hernias my insides used to pop out from my abdominal wall. Looked much worse than it felt. There was moderate pain and I just pushed it back in. Got both repaired.

But I still get ab cramps occasionally in which one of my ab muscles will distend slightly and the pain is pretty intense. Last about 30-60 seconds and sometimes leaves me sore for a day.

Hope that helps but best advice is to have it checked.

Thanks .. It def felt as if my insides were coming out but I have nothing to compare to.. I was doing abs at the time so
Maybe it could've been the cramps your
Talking about.. I hope so..
I def don't want to be out of the gym
For long . I will have it checked out thanks

I went to a surgeon that does a lot of athletes. Had my surgery on a Tuesday was back at gym on Saturday. Asked him if I was going to injure something. Told me "if you feel pain stop" instead or the normal take a few weeks off. Some of the best advice I have ever received.

Wow! I wish I could have recovered that fast. I was basically bed ridden for a month and on morphine because the pain was so bad. Ended up with a catheter and everything. Max I was allowed to lift was 10lbs for 2months. Doc said if I didn't let that mesh fully heal in that trying to fix it really becomes complicated surgery and the chances of it becoming fully repaired drastically decrease.

I guess that's what it sounds like ..is this something that requires medical attention or can it heal on it's own ?? Anyone know ?

If it is a hernia, it will not heal on its own. It will require surgery and you will be out of the gym for at least 2months. You have to be very careful with a hernia so that it does not become strangulated or you will become one very sick dude on the fast track to the Emergency room. The sooner you can get a hernia fixed the better.

Fuck! Great not really what I wanna hear.. I guess I'll let a doctor take a look at it and take it from there..thanks
