+ 1 how long after a bulk should I wait to cut

ad

Okay, brief history and stats.

Been lifting for about 4 years religiously after 10 years of not doing any exercise :( (bad marriage and worked crazy hours) I have done 5 cycles (test only, test and tbol, test and superdrol, sust npp and superdrol twice)

During my fourth cycle I was up to 272 lbs (pre steroids was 230) I herniated a disc in my neck and had to take off 6 months. I literally was on the couch the first 3 months. Needless to say I lost everything I worked so hard for in the matter of a few months not to mention the nerve damage to my left triceps and lat.I lost the outer head of my left triceps and half of my left lat and that was a year ago and they may never come back. I went down to 235 lbs and was beyond depressed. I went through lots of treatments (and I still am) but I finally got the go ahead to start lifting again.

After several weeks getting back into the routine I started my 5th cycle (sust 600 ew, npp 125 eod and superdrol kick) and almost got back to where I was on an all out bulk. I just finished pct and still up about 17 lbs Smile I was up 25 lbs.

I'm 37 years old, 6' 9" and 260 lbs around 16% bf now. My question is this: should I keep bulking between now and my summer recomp or start before? Getting bloods done in about a month or two to see where I'm at. I'm lucky and and bounce back really fast so three months between cycles have always been good for me. I have never cut or recomped before, I always bulk so this will be my first time trying to drop bf and gain some lean mass.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

When going for a cut, plan not to lose more than 1 to 1.5lbs/wk or you will likely be sacrificing muscle. Determine what bodyfat percent you want to get down to and that will determine how much fat you need to lose so you will then know how long it will take you.

According to your stats right now you are carrying 41.6lbs of fat. That is giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are at 16% BF. Most people seem to underestimate so I would guess you are probably more. You need to get some calipers and actually determine what your current BF% is. So lets say you need to lose at least 20lbs of fat which will then put you into the single digit BF and looking buff. Plan on at least 20 weeks to lose that amount safely. No sense in burning up muscle in the process since we work so hard to put it on. You better start cutting NOW. You shouldn't need any steroids to do this either. Burn that fat off and then cycle if you really want to blow peoples minds!

Good advice bro. Yeah I want to be at 12% at least 10 would be even better Smile and yeah I would probably need to drop a good 15-20 lbs of fat AND then add another 15 lbs of mass Smile so ideally I would love to recomp and do a little bit of both at the same time but I know that's easier said then done.

Drop 20 pounds of fat and you WILL look like you gained 20 lbs of muscle. Recomps are hard, they take a long time to do properly, but if you are not in a hurry to drop a lot of fat or gain a lot of muscle it is a good way to go.

Yeah I hear ya! Now that I think about what you've said I'll probably do a little bit of both. Drop 10 lbs before my next cycle and then recomp while on and drop another 5-10 lbs while adding some lean mass.

If this is your first time trying to cut then I would say get on it soon, there will be lots of trial and error and you may need more time to strip off the fat. What is your deadline that you want to be ripped?

I would say by June. Depending on bloods I'll probably be back on cycle late April early May.

Slowly drop your kcals, Start with dropping the carbs, leave the protein high.

Maybe start with one cardio session a week (hiit works well), then 2, then 3 by May/June.

Keep your compound lifts heavy and rep out you machines.

What's your cycle you have planned?

Good advice too bro! Yeah I LOVE carbs so that's one of my biggest battles. And I'm definitely going to add in more cardio. I barely do any when I bulk. I'm also going to try what Vitamin V suggests and that's eat carbs early in the day and stop at 2:00 pm.

My recomp cycle is:
Test 150mg ew
Tren 300 ew
proviron 50 mg ed
formestane 150-200 mg ed (anti estrogen)
8 weeks long then pct.

Thank you.

It may be hard though with the tren and cardio.
