Stop trt while on heart meds?
So I just got put on some new heart meds (hopefully temporarily) to keep my heart rythem normal. I was under a lot of stress and drinking WAY too much and had a episode of afib and had to go to the er and stay for a day and a half to get everything back to normal.
I've been on a beta blocker (metroprolol) for a year now with no issues. Now they have me on amiodarone temporarily for a few weeks. I'm currently on 200mg ew of test cyp coming off a 10 week cycle of 900mg ew of sust 300 and npp for the first 6 weeks. I was going to stay on a trt dose for a while but not sure if I should now. I would pct but I can't take Nolvadex or clomid with my new med. They can't be taken together so I either stay on trt for another month or so then pct, or stop everything and no pct!
Any advise is appreciated!

Amiodarone has a half life of like 52 days. Just be careful
I'm on a couple blood pressure meds. I wouldn't think of taking that much test again bro. I'd stay on the cyp sometimes changing everything causes issues too I've found. A lot of the pct drugs can interact with the heart more than test. Arimidex really made me feel weird. If I was you I'd never go over 300-400mg test a week again just my 2cents. A good cup of coffee and a little test and and aspirin has got me some killer pumps through the years. Btw don't take anything with arginine in it or its derivatives fuck pre work out too or energy drinks good old coffee. I'm right there with u bro. Shit if I take anything above 4-500mg test I just get lethargic anyway. Npp really made me feel weird along with my 25yr old workout partner and he's a fukn ox nuthn effects him.
My strong ass 62 year old Mexican dad has afib, and it really fucks with him. He doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, and for the most part lives a pretty stress free, joy filled (positive mojo) life. But his heart will just start beating like he's running a race or something, usually once every few days.
A few months back, he complained of terrible upper abdominal pain. We took him to the hospital. He had a gall bladder that had gone rancid, and from what the doc could tell, it'd been nasty for a long time (years). The surgeons tried to operate twice, but his afib would act up so they put him on a coctail of drugs to get his heart stable. After a week, the third attempt was successful to remove it, and after a week at the hospital, we got him home.
Within a few weeks, he was recovered and back to being his ornery self.
He drinks HAWTHORNE TEA and swears that helps "keep the heart steady." (He dislikes the flavor immensely, so he uses a lot of honey.) I don't know if this could help you, but it's worth looking into.
In the end, he's getting a surgery where they go through a vein in his let to go up and "burn bundles of nerves around the heart" that are responsible for afib. Sounds fucked up, but apparently it's a "common surgery." The procedure has a name, but hell if I can remember what it's called.
I share this hoping it gives you food for thought. Regarding your current hormones situation, I can't advise other than, LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! Keep us posted, and I'm rooting for you!

Actually just got back from the cardiologist today and he says everything is fine. Did every test possible and said this was most likely a one time event due to stress, lack of sleep and alcohol. He knows me pretty well and I've been going there for a few years because of benine palpitations. I also had high cholesterol but on my own I've lowered it from 250 total to 183 (that's a huge difference).
He told me to go back to my everyday life and switched my beta blocker.
Thanks for the update, brother! I'm American, so I always want "the easy fix." Just like steroids, there is no easy fix. Diet, exercise, mental health, all of it adds up. Keep kicking ass and keep us posted. Cheers indeed!
Ask your doctor then get three other opinions from other doctors.. Way to much faith is put into today's medical profession.
Also if you're American it'll effect your insurance if you admit to them you self medicate TRT.
I didn't think about that. I can't have my insurance jeopardized in any way.
It will only impact your life insurance rates/eligibility. I guess in terms of gynecomastia it would negatively impact your insurance covering it.
I had prostate cancer, and steroid use documented before prescribed TRT. They paid for everything.

Good advice murph. Have you had a thyroid panel done in your bloodwork? If not ask doc to do it when u see him. Hopefully u will be able to stop the amiodorone in a couple months. You are very tall. I have seen really tall people with atrial fib. FR sent bro..
I'm sure they did but I'll double check. I had so much bloodwork done in the hospital.
I actually just spoke to my cardiologist because I am having some coughing and short breaths due to the amiodorone so he told me to stop taking it and just take my beta blocker (metropol) until I see him next week. So he doesn't seem to worried about me staying on it. When we last spoke he led me to believe I wound only be on it for 2 weeks or so.

bigmurphI advise you to be straight up with your doctor with him you have patient client confidentially and he will guide you safely through this. I don't want to hear from another member that we lost you. Your doctor will know the best way to handle this especially with afib and the different meds. Just be straight with him this is a serious thing.

Thanks for the response bro, I've been thinking about telling him. I have an appointment next week and I'll have to decide then. I've mentioned it to him in the past and obviously he is very anti hormones so I know he'll definitely say to come off, which is fine by me but if I can't pct then I'll feel like shit for months and lose all my gains.
Another thing I just found out is that this new drug can be in your system for months after stopping it.
bigmurphLet him know that you will come off but you want him to tell you how to do it safely with the meds you're on and the heart condition. Remember you pay him to be your doctor its his job to give you medical advice.
