Congratulations I don't give a fuck about your points.

ad

FYI: This is a general rant, not aimed at any member but instead my opinion.

I get so sick of these fucking points under our avatars. I sit and watch people post pics of themselves with a bullshit physique and because their "advanced" alot of guys will say, "great work bro" "man you been hittting it hard" and plus one that bullshit, not me. I watch how guys rant and rave about being on HGH and look like shit in my opinion, you can get alot more from a good diet, cardio and sleep than what some members have posted. A woman member puts up a pic (which I can actually say, our women members kick wayyyyyyyy more ass in the gym than alot of our guy members, based purely on pics) and she gets +40, does what really mean she is a level 1 member because she has tits and motivation? I see guys with great upper bodies, and no legs and they get mad respect from people, its all very strange to me. In closing, judge a pic/physique based upon what you see, not because that person holds some sort of weight in the "point" land of eroids. If you don't like my post, I won't apologize because someone needs to say it and I'm that guy. I work hard and can back up my shit talking with pics, and NPC show placings. Peace

There have been many evolutions with the point system since eroids inception but the reality is it is going to come with the territory when you offer as much FREEDOM as eroids does. One of the conerstones of eroids is that we remain a member orientated board with minimal censorship. Then of course of the most difficult concept for many members to grasp is THIS IS NOT A BB SITE

Karma whoring still occurs and when caught consequences are had. There are meaures to be taken when members upvote "g2g" and stupid shit like that.

If you are looking for stringent regs and opinions that cater to your particular genre then maybe a BB site would be more up your alley.

don't you feel like you are repeating yourself? How many discussions have we had that have centered around this NOT being a BB site. I've been criticized personally on this very point and yet it seems that the assumption is that if you are using gear then you must be a body builder. There are all sorts of people here.. endurance athletes, power lifters, boxer, wrestlers, I could go on and on ...

sorry rant over..

I hear what you are saying brother... It does not go unnoticed that the majority of members here should not be on juice (at least not yet) We do our best to disuade and point ppl in the direction of diet and training but BIG PICTURE is everyone does what they want anyway so we can at least try to get them through it as safely as possible

Before I start I my rant I will say I agree with certain aspects of the points you made.

I don't see the karma system has having anything to do with what a person looks like. At least if what I have heard over and over here is true,

"This Is Not A Bodybuilding Web Site"

If members give a woman +40 for T/A well apparently they felt that made their day thus warranting good karma. If rank is suppose to be indicative of knowledge of this aas world than it is a flawed karma system for sure. If karma is based on what people believe made them happy then it is working. Or if a high karma member posts pictures and they don't look like MR O, but they have supported and helped out many members with their cycles etc. Then it makes sense if those people come back around and give support. There is I am sure a lot of unrecognized good advice given over pm that is worthy of karma but there is no way to regulate it.

I have seen pro BB on here who don't contribute shit other than putting up pictures to get an ego boost. And then when everyone comes out to praise them they don't even have the courtesy to say thanks. So these self important ass hats come on get their ego stoked and then go away and don't contribute anything. Should they have high karma because they are top shelf bodybuilders but do not contribute anything? Yet they get tons of karma just for showing a picture.

It goes back to is this a site that is supposed to elevate bodybuilding as the center core and reason for existing if it is I am fine with that and I will abide by the rules of that as well. I don't disagree with your points but there is still much more that must be examined. Most of the picture karma I have ever given goes to low ranking members who are getting started and are making progress and have no or hardly any friends to support them. I agree with you in the sense of balance, I will also give karma to the BB who have done outstanding work in their trade and shown great discipline.

I'm more frustrated with members "bullshitting" another member, with +1 and praises, when in my opinon that praise is not due.

I agree undeserved praise doesn't do anyone any favors for making true and righteous progress. It does the person a great disservice for sure.

i just hope my physique keeps on progressing as fast as my karma does.

I've been in this battle at least 15 times now so I going to save my figures from all the BS of typing how I could or could not agree with you... Next time you have a question and you want to justify my knowledge please by all means PM me.. We will chat and you can decide.. might surprise you on how much us girls actually know... In closing, I take none of this personally or offensively .. Only expressing my opinion.. Have a great day Smile

As most women are.. very knowledgeable and successful. Please keep that in mind when you are saying it's not fair that women get 40+ karma for a picture.. We didn't give those points to ourselves.. and weather or not it's a true reflection of what knowledge one of us has or doesn't.. it's not right to group us into a stereotypical view of... tits and ass.

Thank you Buddhadboy, We still aren't exactly on the same page with this one.. however, I respect you and your opinion. We are all entitled to different views..

I hate to agree......but yep!

Seeing pictures in that section of people...with what I can only raise an eyebrow to.

What makes it worse is the "bro" hood culture of saying well done....for the sake of it.

MONK's picture

I do see what you guys are saying but are we really bitching about people showing a little encouragement ?

Hmmm its a very fine line. Some of the pictures are like week 2 of this stack and look at my back.....and with the greatest respect - thats nothing there yet theres a list of 20 people virtual high fiving them.

I dont understand the logic of saying well done without ensuring theres a value to your well done barring a) doing it for the sake of it and b) because you need to somehow conform the this brotherhood of iron bollox.

MONK's picture

I to have looked at pics and been not so impressed and loan behold a barrage of +1s and 'the virtual high fives' follow but I just think oh, dude must have a lot of people supporting him or perhaps to some people that IS impressive who am I to judge. I just don't really see it as much of an issue really.

True, you make a fair point. I can see the other side of it to though, I guess a balance somewhere in between a full on critique and a genuine bit of support would be about right.
(I didn't mean to suggest you were directly "bitching". Just a Poor term of fraise. )

There's too much ego massaging going on in the pics section, I agree. I don't like being negative but I know exactly where you're coming from here.
