There’s so many red flags in it that I thought I needed to list the entire panel

Bodhi's picture

You’ve gotten some good advice already. At 5’10” and 143 lbs, the first thing I’d be cycling is food. Steak, rice, potatoes, eggs, and 8+ hours of sleep. That’s objectively underweight, and I’d want to see what happens after 6-12 months of consistently eating in a surplus and training hard.

A total testosterone of 190 absolutely deserves a repeat test and a proper workup with an endocrinologist. If it’s low again and you’re symptomatic, that’s a TRT conversation, not a cycle conversation. Those are two very different things.

I’d also repeat the AST, ALT, and creatinine with no training for 24-48 hours beforehand and add a GGT and Cystatin C. Heavy training can elevate those markers, but it’s worth ruling out anything else before introducing more variables.

One last thing.

300 mg of prop with an AI and 6 IU of GH isn’t “natty plus.” That’s a legitimate PED cycle. If you truly need TRT, treat the deficiency first. If you don’t need TRT after actually eating food, focus on fixing the fundamentals. At 143 lbs, food is still going to be your most anabolic compound.

I’m going to eat in a noticable surplus for the next 2 months, prioritize consuming more healthy fats. Then get a new panel w/ the modifications you suggested. And then if test is still low, you suggest TRT through a doctor?

Bodhi's picture

I don’t think two months is anywhere close to enough time. At 25 years old and 5’10”, 143 lb, you’re objectively emaciated. You clearly haven’t been giving your body what it needs to thrive, so expecting your hormones to normalize after eight weeks isn’t realistic. It’s downright ridiculous.

I’d give it a minimum of three months, and more realistically 6-12 months of consistently eating in a surplus, training hard, getting 8+ hours of sleep, and putting on a meaningful amount of lean body mass before deciding what your true hormonal baseline is.

If your testosterone is still around 190 ng/dL after you’ve actually taken care of your body for an extended period and you’re still symptomatic, then I’d absolutely get a full endocrine workup and have a conversation with a physician about TRT.

Right now I’d spend less time planning a cycle and more time fixing the fact that you’re 25 years old 5’10” and 143 lb. Food is still going to be the most anabolic thing you can put into your body.

Any advice for how large of a surplus to be in? Currently I’m hyper active and eat 3,000 cals daily

Bodhi's picture

Honestly, I’d be surprised if 3,000 calories is anywhere near accurate. At 5’10” and 143 lb, unless you’re doing hours of endurance training every day or working an extremely physical job, 3,000 calories should put most people in a noticeable surplus. I call bullshit.

I eat around 3,000 calories a day, and I have 60-65 lb on you. That’s another reason I’m skeptical.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, if you’ve genuinely been eating 3,000 calories every day and you’re still 143 lb, then you’re either underestimating your intake or overestimating your activity. The scale doesn’t lie.

Stop chasing a calorie number and start chasing body weight. If you’re not gaining 0.5-1 lb per week, you’re not in a surplus. Eat more until the scale starts moving.

I walk about 4 golf rounds a week and other days hike with my friends, very active. Also am in a men’s soccer league so one match a week. I am certain I’m tracking right as well

Yuzy2784's picture

Have you ever taken exogenous testosterone before?

rarestplayerwhodid's picture

No, but been lifting for 2 years now. Just as much seeking lifestyle improvements as to physique gains. Hence why I'm running sort of a "natty plus" cycle

Yuzy2784's picture

If your stats posted are correct, man you gotta learn to eat and train. If these labs were properly taken and have been replicated multiple times, then yes your testosterone is low

My question is are you a drinker or do you take any other meds? I ask because your liver enzymes are elevated, and your creatinine/EGFR is less than ideal especially if you were well hydrated.

rarestplayerwhodid's picture

No drinker and no other meds. I would not say I have any significant size but most of my buddies assume Im 160 when guessing my weight (obviously doesn't make it any better). I just have a hard time seeing that if this is my natural blood work any reason not to start a cycle.

Yuzy2784's picture

Before I did anything I would repeat blood work. I would add a GGT and Cystatin C. No training 24 hours prior to labs, and bloodwork should be done fasted in the AM. These two markers are liver and kidney specific, this will show if the current results you have are indication of altered function or just a result of heavy training and poor hydration.

As far as this “cycle” you refer to, you need to get your test levels checked again. If they come back low again then you’re not going to be looking at a cycle, but more a lifetime commitment of TRT. I see your stats say you’re 25. This is quite the commitment at this age, and most likely will impact fertility. I recommend working with an actual endocrinologist. If you have any intentions of having children in the future, then you need to speak with a doctor and do a deep dive on conception on TRT. Remember what you want now isn’t necessarily what you will want in five years.

If you just do a cycle and then come off, you’re gonna be much worse off than you are right now. You’ll crash your HPGA, and might not ever recover the levels you currently have.

If you’re dead set on doing this yourself I would start with the intentions of doing TRT indefinitely. Committing to a lifetime of injections, bloodwork, test sourcing. I would stay away from prop, and start with 120 milligrams a week of testosterone cypionate or enanthate. At the minimum it would be injected twice a week. Labs would be pulled 6 weeks from start and adjustments made as necessary. If you are a true candidate for TRT, this alone should make a considerable difference.

rarestplayerwhodid's picture

Yea from what I am now discovering a cycle is not the answer but looks like TRT prescribed could be. If that were the case would you suggest self prescribed or getting it done medically?

Yuzy2784's picture

Not trying to be a dick, but with what I can infer about your level of knowledge on the topic, yes you need a doctor supervising treatment.

rarestplayerwhodid's picture

No offense taken. would u recommend me making lifestyle changes first or does my lab work suggest this is purely hormonal?

Yuzy2784's picture

Lifestyle changes are always first, unless it’s an immediate threat to health (this is not).

rarestplayerwhodid's picture

Thanks for the advice, yea full on cycle was rash but I was just frustrated seeing my natural levels so tanked.

Jockstrap's picture

Prop lives 48 hours so there's no weekly amount. Re run the math and you'll see better clarity.

Look up forum....test is not test.....its gold

My natural hormonal production qualifies me for medically prescribed T, id rather just source it for cheaper and run more

I am not one to tell others what to do because most likely they will just do what they want anyway (exactly like me). I have to say tho that 50+ years of injections sounds like a a heavy burden. My family dies early, so I have maybe 15 years and that sounds like too much already. Anyway, have you looked into enclomiphene? I don't really know much about it, but maybe it fits for you. The "Man Medicine" guy on YT has a video on it, but I didn't watch all of it. HCG could be something to look into also if you do ever decide that 50 years of injections sounds like fun. Just make sure you have considered everything. We change every 5 years, so what you want now will be different in 5 and 10 years. Say you hate kids, but you meet a hottie 10 years from now that you love more than life itself and she wants kids. Because you wanted bigger biceps you are now shooting blanks. So do as you see fit, just make sure you have put enough thought into it so that you don't end up with regrets.
