epididymitis (pain in nuts) after heavy dead lifts
ad
One week ago I was maxing out on dead lifts, without a belt. That same night I felt a slight pain in my lower abdominal area. A week later the pain has moved down to one of my testicles which is swollen.
I went to the ER today and they told me I have epididymitis which can be caused by infection or trauma to the groin.
Have you guys ever experienced this? I also just started PCT 2 1/2 weeks ago after a 16 week Deca and Test cycle so I thought it might be a combination of my nuts being up for 16 weeks and now they are dropped and more sensitive mixed with me overdoing it on deadlifts.
Thoughts?

Yeah, this isn't super uncommon. The problem is that you are putting so much internal pressure on your abdomen that you are squeezing a little bit of urine back into the prostate and then the epididymis.
It won't cause an infection, but it really pisses it off. That's what is causing the inflammation and swelling. It used to happen to me a lot in my 20s.
Not sure how to prevent it, other than making sure you've peed right before deadlifting.
QtripsHm, the only think I could think of is that if you pulled correctly, meaning the bar scraped against your shins while pulling it, there is a possibility...if you have shorter arms...that the bar drifted up in such a way that it maybe crushed a nut/smacked into a nut, especially if the bar drifted forward and then drifted back toward your body as you locked it out. I've had it happen, especially with snatch grip deads. But this is unlikely, but then again, could happen.
Good point! I didn't think about that. But that has happened to me when doing heavy shrugs with an Olympic bar.
I remember the first time I pulled 315 when I first started lifting... My dick actually withdrew itself into my body. Didn't hurt really, but scared the shit outta me. Had my headphones on and for some reason I literally shouted out in surprise, my penis is gone! In the middle of the gym. Embarrassing to say the least.
Haha
Im no doctor but its probably from the deadlifts.
Yeah I think so too. I won't be dead lifting of squatting without a belt anymore, that's for damn sure..
Are you a power lifter?
No. I posted in this section because I thought maybe the power lifters on here have experienced this pulling a lot of weight everyday.
Sorry was reading your post neg you by accident:)
Lol.I didn't notice what forum this was.I would say don't max out on deadlifts unless your a power lifter.
Yeah I usually don't but I went to the gym pissed I guess it's like going to the grocery store hungry lol
I hear you on that.I went to the grocery store hungry once.I grabbed a big bag of Fritos and ate the whole bag before I got to the check out.lol
