Do you wear white after labor day ? Do you wear tank tops in the winter?
OK all summer I was psyched because I could shamelesly sport the tank top . Loved to ride in a tank , my delts and tri's looked extra beefy while holding the handle bars.
Anyway the reason I ask is my sons 4th grade open house night is coming and he has requested that I wear a tank top LOL . Apparently his teacher does the pec move like the wrestler "the rock" , but my son says "his muscles arent as big as yours daddy , go show him " Now its going to be Oct 10th in the North East so Im willing to bet it will be around 60 degrees at best. So whats the fashion etiquite here ? Should I get a nice pump, oil up , sport my tank and go to open house night ? Or is this just too shameless ?
Side note, last year I intimidated the teacher to the point he wouldnt meet with me alone , but I didnt like that guy, he did some fucked up shit to my son (which I let him know was not acceptable). But so far I really like this years teacher, and so does my son. We want to get on his good side. My son even asked if I could drive my 69 Z28 to the open house because the teacher likes muscle cars.

I had on a tank top yesterday and white pants.. just sayin LOL
That's funny cuz when I take my son to football practice he asks me to wear my tank top. All the kids are like whoa your dad is big! I feel funny though like I'm intentionally showing off. Well, maybe I am just a wee bit.
BigBmajAll I know is that I've been working out with a long sleeve shirt and I get better workouts. My pump is better, body stays warmer, and ego is in check. I feel less like I'm there to show something and more like I'm there to train something. Instead of looking at myself in the mirror between sets I'm actually focusing on the task at hand. This may sound silly but its actually made a difference.
AnonSounds like a good method. I find I am constantly hot and ready to break out in a sweat though, so th tank is nice. In the case I was mentioning though I thought it might be a funny joke.
BigBmajYeah I sweat a lot too but its not much worse with a long sleeve shirt. I know I read your post and what I mentioned had little to do with anything.
But I did notice that I had a tendency to show my body more than I should. It was a means of validating myself. Stupid shit, but that's me. I do notice a lot of big fuckers who do this by the way. So I made an effort to stop doing this. So its september and I'm wearing snow pants and a walrus skin coat.
AnonHaha the big cover up eh ? Maybe get a pair of clark kent glasses too ;)
BigBmajI was wearing some the other day and some girl pulled me aside and told me I looked like clark kent. Thats funny.
I would love to wear sunglasses in the gym but a hoodie and sunglasses is just too uni bomber for me to pull off.
Long sleeves is also nice for when you go on PCT, drop all your doses, or start carb depletion. That shit is so psychological that just seeing myself look flat can throw it all in the toilet. Next plan, remove all the mirrors from my home. Walk around with toothpaste all over my face, maybe just get one of those prison mirrors.
There's a guy at my gym that wears sunglasses every time he's there. He's pretty big so nobody bothers to tell him how stupid he looks. Sunglasses, big ass headphones and a tank top that's about 5 sizes too small.
BigBmajDude that's me. We work out at the same gym. And you just bothered to tell me how stupid I look. Now I'm rethinking my whole wardrobe.
Lmao, sorry bro I didn't mean anything by it. On a side note you're looking jacked as fuck so you can really wear whatever you want. I would request that you stop flexing in the mirror so much though. It's a little distracting!
RustyhookerYes....i wear tank tops in the winter. Nips so hard i can deflect bullets! My XL tshirts are too damn tight to do any upper body lifts.
¤passes out aromasin by the caseload¤
Need tissues?
Anonno fair ! dont you live in a sunny area ?
RustyhookerAround 100 in summer but down to 30's in winter. Not cold to many folks on here but I'm fulltime outdoors. Brrrrr! Lol
That was a touchier subject than I'd have ever thought. Lol. Myself, my daughter asks me to do something, I'll do it. I'll be out there trick or treating in a dress and a wig this year. No heels though. Flats only for this guy.
In reality it's all about your son. People judge us regardless of the efforts we put in. Sure, teach him that society has standards we have to conform to, but it sounds like its something that might be important to him. Think back on what stands out with your father and yourself. It's usually some small thing, that we end up holding onto. Just my $.02
AnonWell I had quite a busy evening so I wasnt able to get on much, but let me say when I wrote this this morning I did so with a laugh. Not a laugh as in its pure fabrication, but mocking a reality that could very well exist. I also thought it was something people could have fun with.
I see Ed and Greg got a little bit up on their high horses though. Wow almost as pretentious as the PC police .
As far as what image I project, well first and foremost I want to have a good time with my sons teacher, and based on everything Ive heard I think hed get a laugh. As far as the other parents, well Ive gotten up and publicly spoken at the school board, lead cubs scout meetings, organized community bike rides so I think Im known by enough people that if I came in wearing a tiara, or EDs dry cleaned white robe (uh scratch that he needs it ) theyd see an aspect of humor I was going for.
BY The Way the teacher I am going to visit is bald, tanned, shaves his whole body, drives a corvette and takes a break each day to drink his protien shake, so I think hed be the last one to be offended.
I honestly thought the whole post except for the way your son talks about you was you being completely humorous. That is why I added my on anecdotal story about my wife and me wearing white after labor day. I think the levity was good, I hate to see how things get out of hand, but still the post itself was funny.
High horse?
I did have fun with it... I pointed out what other people who don't know you might think from 2 extremes; the mullet wearing white trash (Only because it is in October) to the drooling housewife with her clueless husband.
Sorry you take yourself so seriously.
AnonOddly enough Greg for someone thats so smart Im surprised you cant recognize what you are saying as projecting.
Clearly if I am mocking and having fun with the idea I do NOT take my self that seriously.
Clearly if you felt the "NEED" to explain what others will think then its you who takes his self too seriously. Either that or you think Im an idiot who needs explaining of how others see me.
I dont care which is the case, I really just wish youd have chosen to simply have a little fun in the thread the way everyone had been doing until you and Ed steered things in a different direction.
Sorry you feel that way but in truth I have no beef with you and meant no disrespect.
...So here's a thought. Walk into the classroom wearing an unassuming zipped up hoodie and make a presentation when you take it off. "Is it hot in here or is it just me?" Exposing your tank top... even do one of those pec moves the teacher is so fond of doing... maybe you can get him to do it with you. I'm sure your son would have a field day with that.
This way you've highlighted the joke and will have avoided making others uncomfortable as you mentioned in your original post.
AnonSounds great Greg, thanks !
Give them a vote if you find it helpful.PermalinkSounds like a pretty good game plan to me
I hope it is understood that my reply below was a light hearted, tongue in cheek advice given in the same vein this post was written.
I have had my disagreements with Novice, but mostly I've agreed with what he has posted and respect him nonetheless and consider him a friend... wait, yup, he is still on my friends list.
Ed posted a reply very similar to my own.
And Destructos, I respect most everything you posted. But come on, do you really think Ed deserves the kind of bashing you're giving him here?
What's posted in another thread should stay in that thread. Every new thread should be a chance at a new beginning.
So what do you say we all stop the infighting and give each other a big Bro hug.
AnonThen why would you make another thread pertaining to the same thing after the original thread got locked down?
I did not participate in the original post.
My post was about PC run amuck.
My comment here is about personal disagreements and dragging that venom into another post.
My motive here is to calm things down between two members I consider in very good standing. Not to start another argument... Which I hope you are not in want of doing.
AnonAnd I'm done. Have a great weekend Sir.
AnonHmmm Greg I dont really think so. I think your back tracking a bit here , and quite frankly Id respect you a bit if youd admit that truth as opposed to the one you paint above.
But all in all it doesnt really bother me, I have a pretty good handle on who you are to me.
Sorry if you were offended but there is no backtracking. My attempt was to point out that at those events there will be other parents; those who do not know you and those who may judge you unfairly. NOT just the teacher.
So it would not appear as if I was making a personal attack I attempted to balance out the post with a "back handed" flattering comment with a wife admiring you and her clueless husband.
And if you recall, in another post, (I'M violating my own rule here) I said that you were someone I admire as one who sticks to his principles and did not pander to the masses.
When we do disagree I never tried to insult you when it got too heated but in essence agreed to disagree.
I realize in print that what one says may not come off as intended. So, after seeing the "blow up" I wanted to clarify where I was coming from -not to backtrack.
I don't know of anyone who is in 100% agreement with anyone else, not the spouse, family member, friend or coworker. Disagreements and misunderstandings will happen. I try and let it go. I think you're the same way... or am I wrong?
I had the same light hearted intentions. Just trying to paint a clear picture. I'm sorry if it was taken any other way. Group bro hug. No homo. Come on Destructos, there is room for more in this bro hug.
AnonThe only thing Ed is that you cant be trusted... no hug from me but you have my word out of respect for the friendship we once had, I will never reply to you again. The End
Lol. I don't remember addressing you in the first place, so I appreciate your committment of silence. You are the one who injected yourself into the conversation without an invite. You ended up looking like a dumbass, and now you have to hang your head in shame. You had to learn the lesson the hard way.
I'm glad to see you fold and bow out. You only do damage to yourself. Sort of a self Destructos.
All my love, no homo
Ed
just dont wear yr white shoes or jeans after labor day thats a fashion faux paux
That is great! it cracks me up how sons look up so much to their fathers, not in all cases but of course in yours. I know you pour great love and discipline into your kids, and then they hale you like that.. it is great to hear. It would probably make me take even more steroids though lol!!
I know that I wore white once after labor day and my wife being the fashion cop that she subjected me to a fate worse than water boarding! I can tell you I have not been the same since
AnonIts still hotter than fukk here. I have both A/Cs on.
I hear that lol. I wear tank tops still where I live I am just not allowed to wear white ones without a summons from the fashion police
What do you think that you will accomplish by wearing the tank top?
Are you attending the event to show a genuine interest in teaming up with your kid’s teacher for a betterment of his education or are you going to see if you can give your boy’s teacher a boner?
You already have the admiration of your son; he already thinks that you have bigger muscles than his teacher. What do you have to prove? Is your self-esteem so low that you think that a tank top and a muscle car is the optimal way to impress this teacher? Sure, it’s tempting to put on a he-man outfit to impress your son, but really what are you teaching him by white trashing it up at this type of function? Do you really think that the teacher is going to look at you as you walk in wearing a tank top and be like “Holy Shit This guy is AWESOME! It is so badass that he is wearing a tank top mid-October to this 4th grade open house, I just want to rub oil all over his arms!”
Not likely.
This might be a good chance to teach your boy that respect can be earned through being classy, dressing professional, and carrying on an intelligent conversation. We are talking about an educational environment not a 1980’s over-the-top arm wrestling competition.
Make a good impression first. If you want him to see your muscles and excite him to the point that he wants to give you a hand job, thank him for his hard work with your son and invite him out for beers as a way of saying thanks. This will put you in the optimal environment that you can pretty woman yourself up, put on your best titty shirt and do it without looking like a cast member of the tool academy.
AnonGiven that the teacher drinks protien every day, shaves his head and whole body , drives a black convrtable vette , Im think ths guys going to make me start pupil
ED where is all this deep shit coming from? that was beautiful and from such an enlightened perspective ! Tou che'
Thank you sweetie. I've been on a hooker killing dry spell. For some reason that brings out the depth.
RustyhookerGood thing I'm in hiding!
Lol, you are safe. You are a little too Rusty for my taste.
AnonNothing but the best of optimism from you eh Eddy? What if he just dresses up in a suit and taps the teacher with his elbow and says he had to "nigger rig" his car just to get there. (Now that would be classy). If the teacher is white then he will see him for his ingenuity and creativeness right? I bet every child only dreams of a father like you.
What the fuck is your problem? That bullshit is uncalled for
I don't use terms like "nigger rigged". Your assumptions are classless and trashy. So yes, I'm not surprised that you encourage the tank top. Run along little man.
AnonClassless and trashy Ed Nugent? What difference does it matter if he wears a tank top anyway wasnt you wanting to beat his ass the other day? Thats about as keyboard commando as it gets you redneck.
You're done anyway Eddy Nugent. Smart people can play dumb but a dumb ass can only play smart for so long and you are busted. You are an idiot
I'll hand your ass to you.
Besides dont you have other things to cry about? You remind me of the emotional crying kid in the grocery basket.
Cry boy cry!
I am getting fucking sick of your knack of jumping into threads and starting wars..... its clear you dont like certain people so just stay the fuck out their way instead of insighting a fight.
First and last public warning..... so you can either change your ways, fuck off, or i will take you out if it persists.
When i have a constant stream of PMs complaining about your behaviour i must act, i would rather lose you than 20/30 other good members... its as simple as that.
Also i have given an explanation here (which i do not have to do to warrant my actions) so no PMs as you will get zero response.
Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
always in an argument...and not even a mature one..lol
Anonat least I don't have 2 ID's captain mclongdick!
are u talking about my friend who stayed over my place.
Anonwhy did you edit the fat fuck part? talking about someone again huh? what a coward! lol
