I’ve seen some boneheaded posts lately that harkens back to the old days on eroids. Perhaps it’s time to go over again what should be common sense.
KMC and I used to try and guess where and who people were based on the seemingly harmless posts peppered throughout the site. All together they would paint a picture. How old you are, city or state of where you live, car you drove, marital status, number and sex of kids, school you went to, military service, what ball teams you support, where you were born, etc, etc…
If you think it’s a joke I’ll give you an example(facts have been changed). Over the period of 6 months a user with the handle BFG posted that he was in the midwest, supported the Twins, was 45 years old, and referenced a high school in Canada. He was married with 2 kids and a dog and drove a GMC.
I subtracted 18 from his age to figure out his high school graduating year. I looked up the yearbook from the schools website (and classmates.com) and perused the pages of the seniors and found Billy Franklin Gates. A face book search for Billy in the twin cities area showed me pictures of Billy sitting on the tailgate of his truck with his 2 kids and dog.
Many of you LOVE your handle. You use it everywhere. Again, a Google search will show me everywhere you’ve posted and sometimes leads me again to a social website like face book or eHarmony.
My suggestion: SHUT THE HELL UP!!

I had a few of my x- old high school girlfriends find me on facebook after not seeing or talking to them for many years. Didn't take much sweetalking at all before I was smashing it again. And they were married too. Yeah, I know, I'm a scumbag but I hit it like there was no tomorrow. .. Im but I have since deactivated my profile due to just what we said here. " people talk to much shit"

There was a time I wanted to find out more about a person (and so did many others on here) and we were able to find out a whole lot because they were a member of Facebook.... Any kind of social media site like that is not always a good idea
just last week I was looking at someones post cycle pics and thought the guy looked familiar.
All it took was a right click, google image search, and another left click!
I was looking at the same guy on BB.com, same pics, same user name, and his full fuckin' resume for the fitness industry.
Dude even used his after tren pics in the "post your natty gains" thread.
Rusty hit the nail on the head here. Stop posting pics on this site, or any "questionable" site really, and then post that same picture on FB or IG or whatever. Also, make sure you turn off geotagging in your photos, otherwise there are GPS coordinates to your location of the picture.

This post happened while I was on Hiatus but I will say probably ONE OFTHE BEST POSTS ON THE BOARD! You guys baffle me with your ignorance and false sense of safety sometimes! I had to (yet again) shut down GUN TALK on the board this week TWICE! If you guys think GUNS and CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES won't earn you a NO KNOCK WARRANT, guess again! You are NOT as anonymous as you think (especially when you are dropping breadcrumbs right to your door)

I saw that gun post and I really wanted to neg it and explain to the OP why but there was no rule broken or bad advice given, therefore I just bit my lip and moved on. I try not to get wrapped up in that shit but goddamn that was dumb. Do you have a problem for negging dumb? I realize it's a subjective word but I wondered how it would have been looked at by a MOD.

This is something to take into consideration, but one thing I did take into account when I created my username was keeping it as far from my usual usernames as possible. However I have given some information based on my occupation, marital status, and children.
Yeah... Not too worried about giving the states I've lived in away or my line of work... Doubt anyone cares about tracking down recreational steroid users. Maybe if I was a source or something I'd practice discretion but meh.

If you haven't been arrested and actually "Booked" then you have nothing to worry about. The people who have been arrested and charged/convicted of a crime have had their ink and scars photographed. There is a federal data base of this and it's easily accessible to ,....lets say a DEA agent assigned to check out domestic illegal steroid sites? A quick download of a pic, run it against the database and bam! So guys like me, it's pretty dumb to risk it. Might be paranoia. I don't know. But id rather be paranoid than sitting in a box with some rancid smelling crack head who I have to beat the fuck up every 5 minutes into unconsciousness to keep him from bitchin while i'm trying to catch some z's under the bench that 30 dudes are sitting on all talking loud as hell about how rancid that crackhead smells. That's the exact and only reason I won't post pics. I appreciate everyone that shares their results. My inks too distinct, and I was kinda young and dumb at one time. There are two people in the world that know I do anything, excluding the guys sending my packs out. I plan to keep it that way.

GearofWarInteresting post brother. I had just put together a very similar theory and posted it in another thread where a member posted a topic entitled: "Where do you live?". I theorized that if you kept posting your info piece by piece into these little "personal inquiry threads" it shouldn't be too hard to do some eroids addition and put together a fairly comprehensive picture of your true identity. Nitti and I had discussed tattoos and how they were cross-referencable in the NCIC database and whether it was safe or smart to post self pics revealing your tats. I'm not a convicted felon so I'm not concerned with my tats being posted. Additionally I work in the auto industry where almost everyone has a shady past and is or was a drug addict at one point or another, so I'm not super duper worried about being made. I don't want Johnny Law perusing my shit though. Great post bro. +1
