Thinking taking accutane
ad
My acne is getting pretty bad, cystic.
Tried lots of things, benzoyl peroxide, retinol, different cleansers, nothing is really helping.
They seem to be coming from under the skin and in large bumps. Right now my last resort before accutane is using this topical clindamycin (an antibiotic)

i know a kid in high school that was prescribed accutane and it messed him up pretty bad. i talked to his dad at the gym the other day and he is apparently still having problems from it. i'm sure that it is rare for the sides to be that bad, but it is known to be toxic, so i never touch it. i tried every cleanser imaginable and most made it worse. i started using this soap from wal mart, its called Yardley's Oatmeal and Almond. i say give it a shot, its only 1 dollar. i used that, tanned a couple times a week and made sure estro was under control and it all disappeared in a couple weeks. its cheap and worth a shot. anything that can keep you from having to use accutane is worth a try.
blackrock90if my topical anti biotic doesn't work , i'm gonna have to use it.
i tried the topical antibiotics too. did nothing. just try out what i mentioned for a week or two before taking accutane. worst case scenario is it doesn't work for you. best case scenario is it works, and you don't have to risk the accutane.
breakingfaceI spent years fighting acne with oral antibiotics and rx creams. Eventually I said enough is enough. My doctor put me on accutane for 2 months, I never had a single out break again. I can literally count the face pimples Ive had since then on two hands.
My doctor explained pharmacology behind accutane and how the myth of it's "harshness" was formed and perpetuated by studies funded by over the counter acne medication corporations.
AnonI have switched to arimidex also becaus I hear aromasin gives acne sometimes ! Your going to get some acne that's enevitable but bad acne should be able to control to an extent so yeah maybe bloods like mentioned
blackrock90using aromasin .25 everyday.
AnonThere's ur problem. One if that's a typo and ur using 25mg a day u r crashing ur E2 which will still cause acne and ur levels to be off. If u really are using .25mg ur running so low a dose ur E2 is skyrocketed.
Either way u need bloods to see where ur at not more chemicals in ur body. U should
Make that decision after u get bloods.
blackrock90sorry it was .25ml aka 1/4th of 25 mgs
AnonU should get some bloods. I bet ur either toxic from too much gear of ur levels are out of whack. AI?
