OK....you guys who have been here a while know how I feel about video games----specifically PC games. FPS, flight sims, and role-playing games like skyrim.
Well we have 2 days before Bioshock Infinite is released and I just saw the review by IGN on You Tube and it looks incredible.
I'm a graphics whore----the more photo-realitic the game looks, the more I like it. And speaking of graphics----has anyone played Crysis 3 yet? I play it on a high-powered gaming rig and I'm blown away every time I fire it up. I've never seen water and fire look so real-----the vegetation is even better than Far Cry 3, and the lighting is just ridiculous.
Bioshock Infinite has my blood pumping-----If you played the first one, you know what a great stroy it was----especially the religious and political statements it made-------this one is no different---only better.

breakingfaceGraphics cards priced me out of the PC gaming world years ago. 300, 500, and now 800. Of course then you need to upgrade several other pieces of hardware to get the most out of the graphics cards... and on we go.
$250 gets you a card that will carry you for a good 3 years. GPUs tend to be the bottle-necks, so processors aren't typically a problem. The software tends to run several years behind the hardware. Crysis, for example, runs great on a GTX 580----card that can be had pretty cheap----and any decent quad-core CPU should suffice.
But I agree with you about the upgrade problem----most people don't want to invest in upgrades just for the sake of better graphics.
But the other major problem that is KILLING PC gaming is the bullshit, unfinished titles that are released before they are done------I shouldn't have to patch/install and extract zip files for a game that should have been ready out of the box. Bought a brand new copy of GTA 4 to play as a refresher while waiting for GTA 5.....it wont even launch-----various people telling I gotta install this, extract that, download this and then edit files...etc..... BULLSHIT on that-----Rockstar can suck my cock on the PC. So I get fucked for $20-----AGAIN---- by another software company.
AnonLost interest on pc gaming on my last purchase of a game-left 4dead..ran on STEAM..wtf fuk off setting up..consoles are just as fast and plenty good for todays graphics..my opinion on that anyways!
I have to say I was pretty impressed with Red Dead Redemption when I played it on Xbox....One of the best games ever made imo....... A good display (LED or plasma) makes a huge difference.

The only reason I am half way decent with english is because I wanted to fuck this english loving girl in high school and I wanted to impress her so I studied up on my english. Never did though. Never played the Bioshock series but I watched the review on ign and was blown away. I'm a console guy so I was a little bummed that they said the console versions weren't up to snuff to run it optimally. I still think I'll give a shot once I finish the new Gears of War.
Even on consoles, it's going to look awesome. Check out some of the screen shots on a google search------mind-blowing.

Any ever play the Burnout series? Man I used to laugh all night playing that online with friends. So many awesome wrecks going faster than the speed of light.
I was a huge Socom fan until they ruined it after Socom 2. I have played Gears of War/Call of Duty and all the military type shooters but I haven't touched a game in years sadly.
I miss Socom 1 & 2. that was my one and only true love. LOL
GearofWarAs you can tell by the double entendre my username suggests I like juice and videogames(Gears of War anyone) lol. I've always loved games since I was a young lad. It all started with Atari, Vectrex, and then Sega Master System and the old breadbox NES. I could play Final Fantasy for hours on end as well as Zelda. I still love games and the crazy shit they do nowadays to push the limits of the current gen of consoles is nothing short if amazing. I'd always been a Playstation guy since PS1 and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Then the PS2 came along and changed the console game again. I loathed the XBOX 1. Then the 360 dropped and I fought the urge to buy one for a while because I'm not the biggest M$ fanboy. Finally caved when I watched all the first preview vids of the 1st Gears game on IGN. PS3 came out and I use it mainly as a blu-ray player. So disappointing. X360 is a better rig all around as comparos continue to show. So yeah, Goth, I suppose I'm a game freak, and nerd too. That's why people are always surprised when they see the muscles and I busy out with mad gaming knowledge. Those 2 things don't usually go together. Nice post btw!
Ahhh yes....but PS4 and Xbox 720 are on the way----I'll getting the new Xbox as soon as GTA5 is released!!!-----no GTA 5 for PC gamers....:(
Terephthalic Pt...That first gears of war game was the best. They really dropped the ball with the second and the third wasn't much better.
Loved GOW1 though. Got insanely good at it, but it wasn't a very popular game.

GearofWarYeah man! It's pretty sweet. Not bad for not having Cliffy B onboard. I like the way they told the story from different viewpoints via the court trial. I love Cole Train anyway, he's my favorite Gears character. I'd finished it about 2 weeks ago, lol! I've got a way to access and play most everything early, and free.
Yeah man I enjoyed the way the story was set out, just wish it was a bit longer though. I ran out of Xbox live so I have not played online yet. But if its anything like Gears 3 online, countless hours will spent! Haha.
I play Black Ops 2 but I have to wait until all the fucking little kids go to school before I am awesome. Crysis 3 is bad ass on a PC. My video cards in my PC cost over $900, I have a keyboard that looks like it was discovered on a alien space craft, my mouse is weighted and now I hardly play on PC just PlayStation.
My gaming rig is pretty beefy-----but when GTA 5 comes out I will have to learn the Xbox controller-----I'm soooooo gonna get my ass beat down in multiplayer...lol

I was playin on modern warfare 2 one night i got about 4 nukes in 10 games (i was hosting but meh.. Was still a good effort!) nek minnit! All I play is Call of duty, either modern warfare or black ops. Never really been a fan of any other type games.

Nieed for Speed is not a series I'm fond of, but NFS "Shift" was a break from their usual "game" style and was a pretty descent "sim".......great graphics, a good sense of speed and decent physics.
But yeah, I'm with you------I'm waiting for a good one to come along.
Let me know how DS 3 is. No 2 got great reviews but I haven't played it yet.
GearofWarDS3 was good. Not as good as 2 IMO but pretty sweet in the weapon customization dept. As far as racing sims go I still think Gran Turismo is the king. What I've always wanted was a game and steering wheel/shifter/pedals peripheral that has a fully functioning realistic CLUTCH pedal! That would fucking rule. I remember there was an arcade cabinet game way back called "Hard Drivin" by Atari that had an actual clutch pedal. It was crazy hard but was revolutionary at the time.
ray3801I just finished DS3 and I gotta say I'm disappointed. It was alright but after beating it I decided to play thru DS2 again and the horror is much better than 3. If it weren't for the weapon crafting, DS3 would be a flop IMO

Yep..... I just got back from a round of Crysis 3......playing around with the sharpening and resolution-----I can't keep my hands off the graphics tweek available in to pop-up console.

I'm running it at 2560 x 1600 right now, but at that resolution I start to get some lag during battles if I go higher than x2 MSAA.
