Today I was benching and on my first set of 225 the fuckin bar jumped out of my hands and bounced off my chest!! I caught that shit mid bounce and continued my set .. Lol.. My wife was with me and thought I was joking !! Lol .. Needless to say I'm glad it didn't happen with heavier weights...first time in like 20 years anything like that happened.. Anyone else have a crazy incident ? Just for fun share that shit

Was about 19 working in a local gym. Use to go in mornings to get workoout in in before crowd got there. Doing flat bench with 225 on bar and decided to try for one more. Failure not a good idea when alone! Got stuck and had to roll down torso to waist, sit up and clean onto floor. Good thing it was only 225!!!
lol good thing no one was there too see that.
What??? I thought you were supposed to bounce it off your belly doing bench press....check out my form here on this youtube clip lmao:

Seated calf raise machine pad came detached mid set.. Didnt hurt anything but did scare the shat out of me.
i crushed my finger between 2 dumbells. i had to get 12 stitches. my finger exploded like a grape!
one time i dropped a 50 lb dumbbell on my nuts. bounced right off
i used to train in a gym above a pizza shop, and you had to take a big stair well to get up there and more importantly to get down, after a leg day i was leaving the gym and on my first step my legs gave out and i fell down the stairwell.
i ripped my inside ring finger apart while racking 75's after a 4 rep failure set. Should have put them down first
In was really bad. But I just duct taped it and kept going.
I was doing squats earlier this week and when I went to return the bar on the rack off my shoulders I didn't realize my grip was as wide as it was. I rested the bar on my right hand in between the rack. Caught just enough of my hand to give me a painful pinch.
Damn! I always think of that when reracking from squats but havent done it yet, knock on wood. I bet it hurt. I once smalled my finger with a 35 at the bottom of the bench on the metal part
Ive been known to faceplant doing squats..
I workout at home and the i squat barefooted. I had just slipped shoes off and and picked up a 45 plate. Damn thing was cold and slipped out my hand. I realizing this used my cat like reflexes jump back like a scared little girl thinking back whew that was close. The 45 landed on the edge of a 10. Needless to say my reflexes fail me. You cant change directions in mid air. The 10i landed on my little toe. Looked like Flat Stanley.
AnonTried to wedge my iron gym pullup bar on the ground behind the door frame. Wanted to do chest flyes on my knees, i hooked a band around it...long story short, after adjusting the tension levels by moving further away from the bar I was ready to start. At about 3/4's the way of the first rep, the bar came unwedged and sling shotted into the back of my head driving me face first into the carpet like a damn field dart. I had some stabbing pains behind my left eye for a.week, but I'm cool now...i think
one time i went to to put up 75lb dumbbells on the rack and it slipped and busted some of my fingers wide open and tore the skin off in seconds, hurt like hell lol
TronI was doing lat pull downs with the stack a few years back at some little gym in a small town. Well, it was obvious the equipment had not been attended too or maintained when in the middle of the pull down the cable snapped, came around and whipped me across the back! Left a big ass welt! The shock of what happened and the sound that cord made and the weights slamming back down is hard to forget!
About 12 years ago, I was working out by myself in a small weight room under the basketball court at my college. We called it the cave. All dark and mildewy. Anyways, it was about midnight, no one else around and I decide to max out my bench with the stupid collars on. Couldn't get the rep and had to roll 385 down my stomach and chest until I could sit up and push it off me. That was really stupid. Thought my ribs were gonna crack.
56tooI use to hold the bar or better said, rest the bar n my palms with my thumb behind the bar. Then I saw a pic of a bar with around 400 something pounds come out of this guys hand and it killed him. Since then I wrap my thumbs around the bar. Competitions make u hold the bar tht way too. Gotta be safe. At my age I cant take any more chances LMAO
Thumbs around the bar is the best way. It's stupid to do it the other way unless its 135
2 years ago I had a wrist wrap with a small tear in the side of it because I had been using it forever. I didn't think much of it until I had 405 on the bar doing shrugs and that bitch broke. That side went down fast and the other had to follow. The still connected side went down my knee and shin. Luckily it was just a scrape, could've been much worse. Now I make sure all my equipment is in top shape before I use it. I saved the old wrap as a reminder to keep my equipment up.
This didn't happen to me, but we have a huge guy at my gym easily 20+ inch arms.
The other day he rolled in and grabbed some 120lbs and tried to do flat bench flies, he got to about the forth rep with no spotter, and his left arm snapped straight back on him, it was flopping around gross as fuck. That has been the worse thing I have ever seen in 10 years.
AnonThat is disgusting. Did he warm first bet not.
Well I have now made the decision to quit weight lifting. Thanks
