How do you train?
I'm creating this thread and hoping to get some good hits with it! Well where to start....the debat over HIT vs. Volume???? Starting out I was a volume guy, 4-5 sets of this and that with 6-7 exercises per muscle group. I made decent gains (with the use of gear, but thats another topic) then I decided to try HIT and I had EVEN BETTER GAINS! Alot of people swear by this or that, honestly you have to mix it up and see how your body responds.
Comparing my gains from volume to HIT, I saw crazy increase in lean mass and poundage. For example, when I started on volume I was front sqauting 225 for reps. After trying HIT I was front sqauting 285 for reps. I came to the realization that HIT was def. better for growth. Emphasizing intesnity techniques like rest pause, drop sets, negatives, PRE EXHAUST (thats the best one) I was able to fully tap into my growth. Now that leads me to the next question, Do you acutally understand the "mind to muscle connection"? I thought I did but when I started to lighten the load and actually FEEL the muscles contract I knew I had it, right then and there.
What I believe since Ive adopted HIT is that when a person is training volume, they can't honestly have that much intesnity. Think about it....Lets look at a bench press. Alot of people do 3-4 maybe even 5 sets, yeah? Well if you're doing that amount of sets it can't be that intense, if you can continue to do set after set? High volume can also easily lead to over training and I know i'll probably get shit for saying that but I believe it's true. I'll do probably 2 acutally working sets per exercise sometimes maybe 1. I know how to take my target muscle to total and utter failure. I think if you can focus all of your efforts with the power of using your mind, you can actually into those 1 or 2 sets. That is just my opnion tho, and the way I train. Not saying either that it's the best way, it's just the best way for me.
So that being said, how do you train and what are your views on it?

heavy and lots of volume
one set all out. I do 3 or 4 excercises per body part(2 for small muscle groups)and do 1 set to complete failure with negatives a couple of times per week on each of the chosen exercises, I'm in the gym for a max of 25 minutes and thats it, job done
When trying to put on size i always stick to, 2 feel sets then 3-4 working sets for each movement im doing and its mainly compound movements.... But when trying to slice and dice i be hitting those drop sets, super sets,etc.... Basicaly thats it not too complicated.
"feel sets" haha ok jay... ;)
Lol Learned from the best of the best..;)
High rep high set slow and tight low rest. lower rep high set slow and tight some rest. lowest rep high and low set forcefully long rest large muscles and i work everyday and love it. I also eat a shit ton of food and drink my juice and get lots of rest.
My work out consist of lots of super sets, drop sets, triple super sets, rest pause, and straight sets
brj1761its all about progression overload and whatever works to get you to that point.
9 sets per muscle group 20,15,12 reps
1jakd_hipyWestside methods, won't make you look like a bodybuilder but will make you strong as fuck
I like mixing different methods, that's how I saw the best results, just gotta shock and surprise your muscles.
so many good ways to train, i think mixing it up every few weeks is the most important element.
i just switched to 3 sets high rep, 1 set low rep and the pump is great...im exhausted by the time i leave the gym but am recovered the next day
