Vial top

ad

Ok the top of my vial as in the lid that you pull of when I was pulling it off where it's clamped a at came off with ,but right away I put it back on and no leaking or anything, but will i still be fine to use. I would say yes as in wasnt off longer than 10 seconds also I cannot after peeling the lid off click it back on due to there is no room for it to stay on all it does it keep poping back off is that back as then my rubber piece will always be showing to free flowing air even though I wipe it off before every use. So please give me your info for this. I don't feel the need enough to say where I got the gear from because the gear is fire and all would agree i just think i got a few badily clamped bottles.

The risk might appear low that having the cap removed for a few seconds seems low, how sterile your environment is would factor into the risk.

You have an amp exposed for several minutes when filling a syringe; but you use it right away and don't store it away...

You have to ask yourself, "How sterile were the labs that mixed the meds with the steroids that caused the meningitis breakout?" Cleaner than my kitchen or bathroom I hope.

good point ;)

I'd ask for a replacement since it was badily clamped.

That shit has happened to me a few times with one supply. But used it anyways and had no infections. Not saying you should use it, I was desperate..

lol i have done the same thing a few times, I although wipe every thing down with a paper towel with alcohol on it though before I use it, I kind of look at like this, I reuse my pulling needles a few times before I dispose of them as does a lot of other people I talk to. the lid being off for that short period of time couldn't be any worse lol. But this is strictly my opinion and my experience not to mention my sterilization process

ahhh, the 10 second rule... ;-)

When in doubt, throw it out.

the flip top came off or the whole lid that keeps the rubber stopper in? after you peel the top off of course you can't put it back on. and yes that is why you wipe the rubber off with acohol pad swab before drawing .

the whole lid that keeps the rubber stopper in.

Here's the problem im seeing. The crimper holds that plug AIRTIGHT. So normally if 1cc is your dose you draw 1cc air into syringe....push into alcohol wiped rubber...draw 1cc oil. So now...that ruber is prone to popoff. And allowing outside germs into the vial. Is $50 replaceable vial worth infection? I'd sweet talk grrrl into selling me a new one. Or have supplier send another. This is why the vets stock up gear. Shit happens and now you're stuck. Buy several ahead of time.

I mean i have another already for backup just was wonder what i should do with it ,but i get what to do with it now and i've already contacted the supplier and im hoping he'll fix it with a new one asap or in my next order send me one to cover this

kodiakGRRL's picture

you could pick up a few supplies and a syringe filter ....fix it right up

Sweet. Just be safe.

i have just have to wait for him to get of,but is it safe to still use m8

Its been exposed to outside air and contaminents. I wouldn't. Would worry bout getting infection.

Contact supplier......ask for new one.
