+ 6 effects of aas on cholesterol

ad

so i did some research, and GS recommended the topic of cholesterol. So this is the info i put together to share with the community. If anyone has anymore info they would like to ad feel free.

All anabolic steroids have a negative effect on cholesterol. They all lower hdl(good) and raise ldl(bad) levels. According to Dr. Meir Stampfer of Harvard Medical School, each 1-point drop in HDL represents a 6% increase in the risk of heart disease. That’s assuming total cholesterol remains the same, but as we know in fact that it rises on gear so the risk is much greater. Based on that you can count on a minimum 240% increase in the likelihood of developing heart disease, while on gear.
What does this mean long term? Many people say that you don’t need to worry, and that after a cycle your cholesterol levels will return to normal, but arthrosclerosis develops over time as plaque builds up in your arteries. You can be fine one month and the next month have a heart attack from 90% blockage.
Another point of fact is a study that shows when 39 subjects were injected with 500 milligrams of testosterone ethanate, after only 2 days total cholesterol was up by 15%. So the changes happen extremely quickly.
And since we all know that estrogen protection is necessary for most of us on cycle, it is also important to note that all aromatase inhibitors when taken in conjunction with aromatizable steroids, the effects on suppression of hdl(good cholesterol) will be significantly more pronounced. Another important thing to note is that while aromatase inhibitors do have a negative effect on hdl, an alternative to using an ai, would be using nolvadex(tamoxifen) which does not display the same anti-estrogenic (negative) effect on cholesterol levels.
So after all of this information, we still decide we want to juice, what can we do to try to keep our cholesterol in check? Here is a list of products that we can use for general cholesterol health. From my research I have listed these in order of effectiveness.

Niacin- a general dose for ccholesterol health is between 1000-1500 mgs a day
Fish oils- 4000-6000 mg a day
Red yeast rice- 1200-2400 mg a day. Red yeast rice is basically fermented rice that shares the same active ingredients as the main stream prescription cholesterol lowering statins on the market. It is known to have a decent effect on cholesterol maintenance. However it is important to note that is is only beneficial for short periods of time such as 3-4 weeks before cycle and then continued through pct. It is also good to note that this product is known to lower concentrations of coq10 in the heart and liver so either a pre made supplement including this or additional supplementation of coq10 at 300 mg per day will be needed.
Allicin- an extract found in garlic which is shown to lower blood pressure and lipid levels. It has established reports of its ability to fight cancer. Purer forms of this extract are the best to use.
Policosanol-Dosage of 10-20 mg a day, is made up of a blend of fatty alcohols known to be beneficial towards cholesterol maintenance. This supplement sometimes takes up to 3 months before full benefits start to show themselves and is recommended to be stacked with fish oils, which create a synergetic effect.
Fenugreek- is known to help during pct for hpta recovery but also shows some slight benefits towards lipid health.

I had my HDL go from 53 to 15 while on Tren... doc wasnt too worried, he knew I was on gear but he had me up my fish oil from 3g to 9g a day plus drink 3 glasses of 100% grape juice. Its helped... along with getting off TrenE

I checked my cholesterol level and hdl (bad cholesterol) is high.
And total colesterol is 250. (more than normal level).
How I can prevent to rise my cholesterol level using testosterones ?
Using low dosage of nolvadex during all cycles and ptc?

It may be worth noting that aromosin is easier on the lipids than adex.

Thankyou for the writeup, the part that really scared me was that one point drop in HDL causes a 6% increase in heart disease!

Great research man!! I had started on SEVERAL supps before this upcoming cycle...I have read that even supps such as CoQ-10 and phytosterols sometimes take a month or two to become effective. I also take Grape Seed Extract.
I know the heart health benefits of omegas don't happen overnite either...just to let everyone know. You can't just start taking certain supps the day of your first pin and get comfortable thinking your ticker is covered...cause most likely it's not. Funny, sounds kinda similar to diet first, gear second as well?!?! LMAO....It takes planning ahead and TAKING heart supps about two months in advance pre-cycle IMO.

Nice read! Looking at the whole picture of a cycle can be quite an eye opener.
