+ 3 What it's like to ban.......*YOURSELF*????
I'm not really into the banning thing all that much. I always thought that if I could reason with a guy, I could actually get better results. But you know how people are----sometimes you just can't reach them and you do what you have to do.
But last night was really strange----I banned myself. Now that was strange. Noid made the comment that he banned me, but he actually was the one who took grrl out because I couldn't bring myself to do it. I bid my farewell, deleted my posts, pics, points, and PM's, then hit the ban button---on MYSELF. I always wondered what the screen would look like afterward---I got the "404" page. It was strange----REALLY strange, knowing I was gone, and had no way of getting back in to the Emerald City.
OH WAIT A MINUTE----- I suppose I should tell you why I was banned-----why Grrl and I were both banned.
As MOD's, we are "officially" affiliated with eroids. That means we have much stricter rules about several things, including the disclosure of identity. If our identity is disclosed, whether by us or someone else, we present a risk to eroids. And that is where we screwed up. I knew it as soon as I did it, and I knew it was over for Grrl and I. At least as MODs anyway. After I was banned, I left the house for a while, had a few beers (13 or 23...I can't remember) and came back and got on eroids (with no account of course), and I saw the post I had written and all the responses, and I was SLAMMED by the support and kind words. I had expected to see things like "good riddance"....and "Fuck Goth, he was an asshole anyway"...and my personal favorite...."Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya". Instead, I saw comment after comment that brought tears to my eyes. I have never been involved in an online community in my life----and I always thought people who took that stuff serious were weirdos. Now here I was at 3:30 A.M. with tears, reading all the kind words from people who I had, in some cases, had to ban for a day or chew the ass of. There are no words to thank all of you. You are truly a great group of people.
So I went to BFG and asked him if I could still mingle in the crowd, and he nodded (he always nods) and so here I am. We will find replacement MODs and they will be great.....we will still do the EBC and it will be great......we will still award prizes and they will be great.....and we will still have the same community and the same great times.
And even though I'm not a MOD, BFG said I could be a "snitch".....I'm not sure what that means, but Grrrl is Googling snitch for me right now.

I can tell all of you that Nobody cares more about YOUR security than Noid. If he does something that seems harsh, you can bet he has a reason for it.
I have seen him go after sources that tried to pay him off with gear----and he locked them up. This guy has integrity and can't be bought...(well, at least not until the bank approves my loan next week).

Welcome back Goth. I've been an eroids member for a while now but haven't really participated much until the last few months. I've learned over those few months what you mean to eroids and the vets. This is a better place with you and the wifey around, not as mods, but as people that actually care about the health and well being of the members.
