Has anyone used topical spiro? If so how well did it work for you and how often did you use it.
I've seen it online in 2% and 5% and am think about using during my next cycle of test since I'm prone to a receding hair line

I have used it. To be honest - it didn't do shit.
Go for finasteride and dutasteride instead. Make sure to find legit pills. I have bought duta that doesn't work. You dont want that if you have male pattern baldness and care about your hair.
AnonIf its already a DHT, like MAST - nothing you take is going to help. most hair loss just comes down to whether or not your predisposed to it. Not the tall tails of "does your mothers uncle have hair etc" lol

I think Spironolactone 5% topical is the way to go in regards to preventing hair loss. If used appropriately twice per day, it can be as effective as Propecia (finasteride) and Avodart (dutasteride) in preventing hair loss, on and off cycle. Spiro works by blocking DHT from binding to its receptors in the scalp thus preventing hair loss. While the 5 alpha reductase inhibitors (finasteride and dutasteride) prevent the conversion of testosterone to DHT, which can have many side effects ranging from infertility, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, depression, and more. It gets worse, there are tons of blogs dedicated to men who are suffering long term side effects long after stopping their finasteride or dutatsteride.
In women, this isn't an issue and dutasteride is commonly prescribed with spiro 5% for female hair loss. Women tend to avoid rogaine (minoxidil) because they fear the development of facial hair. But because this isn't a problem for men, I think Spiro 5% used 2 x per day along with Rogaine (topical minoxidil) is a great way to go for guys wishing to slow, prevent, or regress hair loss. Some users complain that the hair resulting from minoxidil use is often comparable to "peach fuzz". I don't think that should be a problem if you still have most of your hair as it will act as a filler. It will also certainly help prevent you from losing hair as well.
I just received my topical Spiro and going to pick up some generic topical minoxidil and I'll keep posted with my results. I have most of my hair, but I've always had very thin hair even as a teenager. But I'm developing the beginnings of a small patch of hair loss at the vertex of my scalp and would like to stop this from progressing.
I think its important to be reminded of the fact that spironolactone as an oral medication is a prescription drug used to treat high blood pressure, edematous states (swelling), and sometimes low potassium levels (as it raises potassium levels). It's classified as a potassium-sparing diuretic. One must be reminded of this to ensure that it is used sparingly - just enough to cover the scalp, NOT generously or liberally.
Spiro is NOT nearly as effective as propecia and dutasteride. I've tried them all.
Topical minoxidil is nothing that prevent hair loss with steroids or even off cycle. But it gets more hair in the active phase and also promotes healthy blood circulation to the hair root.
I recommend topical minoxidil! It's cheap and I have not experienced any side effects.
I also recommend Nizoral (Ketokonazole) that to some degree works like a topical antiandrogen. It blocks DHT in the scalp and also dries an oily scalp.
No side effects beside your hair turns very dry if you leave it in for some substantial time (that I recommend). Do not use Head & Shoulders conditioner (or regular conditioners on regular basis). They contains silicone. Silicone blocks your scalp from uptake of the minoxidil.
Instead: Use an oil for grease your hair to normal again.
Follow FVTec's advise and wash your hair with nizoral 5 x a week or so - especially if you are not on systemic inhibition of DHT (fina/duta).
Propecia (Finasteride) - A must if you experience male pattern baldness. It will take some toll on your libido and well being. It's a trade off! If you are used to moderate or high levels of DHT - you probably will feel worse when they are lowered.
Dutasteride - A stronger version of Propecia (Finasteride) that inhibits both types of enzymes that converts test into DHT. I think dutasteride is a must during cycle if you are prone to male pattern baldness and want to keep your hair. If you don't care about your hair - don't bother!
Dutasteride only works with substances that converts into DHT. It will not protect you from winstrol/masterone. You can almost say that it only works with test.
Saw Palmetto works like Propecia (systemic DHT-inhibitor) but to a much lower degree. This is in best cases when you have a quality products. This is supplements and not drugs so there is no decent research behind this. I would never touch Saw Palmetto in the purpose of inhibit DHT. Too many loose ends.
Spiro cream did not do anything for me.

I didn't know about Nioxin so I'll look into it for sure. I already use nizoral. Have u tried spiro? and if so did it work? I've been thinking about trying it out but now I'm going to look into the Nioxin and decide between the two.
And I have the same feelings about propecia as you do. I don't like putting anything in my body that isn't a necessity.
I know it's going to recede no matter what I do because of genetics. I already use nizoral everyday when on cycle and a couple times a week when not on and it has seemed to slow way down. I also take saw palmetto everyday.
I was just seeing if spiro was worth the money.

mazarPropecia doesnt work too well for the temples/hairline from what i gather it works best for the top and back part of the scalp. I suggest you get topical spiro and nizoral. If those dont work add some rogaine but you will have to use it for life.
If you want to be on the safe side you can add propecia but the sides imo are not worth it some have never recovered and have permanent ed from propecia.

mazarIt is not exactly the same peanuts wont give you ed bro :). Propecia and deca are known to give people permanent ed. Yes it is only 1-2% that get it but it can happen, hence why i try not to suggest it to others. Dht can be combated with letting some extra estrogen to get through. Not enough to give you gyno but more than we usually suppress for perfect libido. If he runs a cycle with 50 e2 he can combat the dht.
It is the estrogen vs dht imbalance that causes hairloss not the dht alone.
tread-mFollow me close on this brother, the propecia was not advised to regrow his current issue. It and the saw pallmetto are for "CURRENT" DHT ISSUES AS IT PERTAINS TO TODAY FORWARD. Solid advice...the rogaine for his current issue is fine but it will do nothing for dht in the body. The advice I gave was also for dht as it pertains to health of the prostate althougbh the saw palmetto helps the dht problem as well.
mazarI agree about the dht 100% but propecia as far as regrowth go works only for the crown of the head not the temples/hairline. For the temples only thing that will work is nizoral (if lucky) and rogaine. Spiro as far as i know is useless, i just dont want to recommend propecia to anyone and then that person is the unlucky 1% that will get shutdown completely. There are lots of horror stories about restarts and propecia, only a few docs know how to do a restart and sometimes even that doesnt work but is only a minority. Also propecia shouldnt be used along with saw palmetto is one or the other, else you are really risking ed. Rogaine can give him the same result only he has to use it for life and is messy, just without any of the other risks.

Your right! This guy has it backwards. I am prescribed Finasteride by my doctor for a receeding hairline. A deepening of my widows peak. Unless your killing your hairline from Sebatious Oils (treated by Nioxin) then you are losing it from DHT! PERIOD! Rogain and topical solutions work for crown and back of head hairloss. Read the bottles or do research and you will find out. I am very happy with my Finasteride (propecia) and haven't had any negative sides. I am apart of the 98-99% that don't experience sides. Last time I recommended Finasteride I got caught up in a debate with a member who had a friend who experienced bad sides from it, so now I recommend that someone research it and make an educated decision or see a doctor. It has been awesome for me and I think it is worth looking into.

tread-mTopical is not where you want to be interms of prevention for the purposes of using gear. If concernedd use propecia going into cycle and continue for a few weeks post cycle or from now on since losing now and take saw pallmetto from now on. You have the predisposition so it will likely come eventually anyway without the help.
Or he can use a razor, works every-time
