What would you recommend?
I am 34 5'10" 185lb 9 weeks in on 1st cycle 500mg test e... Now for the question. My dad was asking me what I would recommend for him. We're real cool and he knows what I'm doin. But he is 62 5'10" 160lb... He is in the gym 6 days a week, and he does a shiload of eliptical... He lifts w/ only machines due to shoulder trouble... He has been watching the commercials for low T, and says that's the way he feels. He wants to get his midsection more trim and he also wants what the commercials say increased libido, more energy and so on... He wont do needles... so it has to be oral... I was thinking a low dose of anavar maybe 30mg for 8 weeks... followed by nolvadex for pct... He was looking and said stanozolol was more the budget he was thinkin? I think the extra $ would be worth not messing w/ his blood pressure? any and all input appreciated.

Update: My dad has gone to dr. once... He was prescribed a mild anti-depressant. and he has bloodwork tomorrow for testosterone and 2 thyroid tests? I guess I should've asked what the thyroid tests were for? He's supposed to call me tomorrow after the doc. I'll post update when I figure something else out...
Depression is an over used word too many doctors use. It probably could be fixed with testosterone and exercise with a healthy diet and some thyroid meds.
(if not I hope he was given Lexapro and nothing harder)
All he told me was a mild anti-depressant, and they're doing the testosterone and thyroid tests tomorrow... 7:50am... he said that the anti-depressant was until he got the testosterone issue taken care of... That's what they do to older people medicate em'! If anything he over trains, I was talkin to him about his workout and he says he does 3 sets at high reps 3x a week... I m tryin to get a workout together for him that is agreeable to him. He's a stubborn bastard though... I'm tryin to explain to him that his biceps can not recover when he works them 3x a week especially the way he lifts, 15 reps. I told him only do his biceps once a week explained why, we talked about it for about 15 min and he says I guess I cud try only doing biceps 2x a week... I wasnt getting thru...
AnonUgh the anti depressants take weeks to come up to blood levels where they "work" and if it is something else like test or thyroid they don't work at all useless waste of medication giving the man "something" ....
AnonLexapro is just as bad!,!,!
AnonLow test mimics depressive symptoms
AnonLow thyriod affects energy levels---- good that they tested it
AnonOmg are you kidding me????? From a gp? Get ANOTHER OPINION PLEASE
Yea he'd have no problem getting that from a doc and at his age he doesn't need orals it would have to be injectables but the way to go anyways or gel but gels nothing compared to inj
I wanted to say thank you for all your help... I have the old man going to the doc... He's hoping to get the gel. We'll see how that works then talk about supplementing w/ additional aas... Probably test e at 250mg/ week to start... I think I have him talked into pinning instead of orals... I just want my dad around as long as possible, and I want him to feel happy as well... I know since he retired he's been in a slump, and he fills his days by going to the gym amongst other things, but he isnt getting any more tone to his muscles or strength and he wants both... He may be 62, but he doesnt want to feel like it... Again thanks for all your help! Once he gets going, I'm going to discuss hrt w/ him.. I am kind of ignorant on the topic so I have to get researching!
AnonHave him go to the doctor...Doc would probably put him on some pharm grade gear, along with monitor him..
tread-mDoc first and then talk about hrt. If he could feel the effects of low dose test and hgh for one week the pin would not bother him in the least, he might beg for it! Lol. It would be life changing for your Dad, wish I would have been able to help mine in that way. Without the pin he will be stuck with a patch or gel etc, still beats nothing but hrt is the deal, full balance in the hpg axis and we're talking about levels that will not have a big bp impact in all likelyhood.
I think it's one of those things in his head about needles... I figure a small dose for 6 weeks of a test boosting oral and he'll pin after that. Which one though? Man I'm a newbie myself, but I am well researched for what I want... I dont know about 62 stuff. but he asked me for help, so I'm trying to help him? T-bol maybe?
tread-mI think I talk him into the doc, I'm just not on board with orals at all without test even though I know some will direct you there. I think try to get him on something such as has been mentioned, a gel or patch and let him see there is a difference and then work him towards the better difference in full hrt.
Get him some TestE 250 or Cyp 200/250, and some 25ga pins, with warm oil they are pretty much painless, inject at approx 1 ml/min. Show him how to do quad pins.
I'd recommend 2x week with a one pin 250mg frontload. Start at 1/2 ml 2 x week but be prepared to go higher as his natural production shuts down.
Note** 250mg/ml is realy only (approx) 170mg of Testosterone, the rest is ester.
Testing him before you start is even better. Shorter than 2 x week is a real roller coaster to start, after 6-8 weeks going to once a week and amps is do-able. But the 2 x week give him more practice time than once/week.
ItsNoel1 shot a week of test e or 1 every 2 weeks will more than enough for him.
Anona shot of test every two weeks is enough to make him feel just as bad as he does now.. think about the half life here you KNOW you need to pin at least once a week, it isn't any different if you are on trt only the only difference is the dosages which would be around 100/150mg.. and of course blood tests are essential to determine a baseline NO ONE should be running test or aas without them.
AnonYOU BEAT ME TO IT -_- it would deplete the nattty production somewhat, and average out to be a lower dose than what he would have on the natural spectrum.
Sounds like regular TRT will work perfectly for him. He should get a blood test to determine exactly what his testosterone levels are before he does anything. He's made it 62 years, no need to be foolish now.
AnonThank you, that's why I came here... He wants to take a test boosting oral, but wants to stay lean? I am insisting he go to doc first though... He's in awesome shape for his age. He's american, he just wants more:)
Anonthe gels are good for a bit and then he's going to decline again... it just isn't a high enough dose to maintain test levels.. He will WANT more I can guarantee it, and the gels won't increase bodyfat ..
