Every week my Muscle Head Free Weight paradise is turning more into a pussy fitness.. cough I mean Planet Fitness
From them offering step classes in the boxing ring? to the owner (washed up boxer) walking around annoying the shit out of you when you are trying to lift. He actually had the balls to tell me, you are using to much weight your going to break my bar and some of the members are intimidated? First of all its a gym, second of all its a fucking gym there is a PF or snap fitness down the road, if your balls haven't dropped yet and you don't know how much a bench press bar weighs This is not the gym for you!

I'm from van and when Paython (Bodybuilding Gym) closed down, I felt like smashing faces, and now I train at this gym downtown that is soo prepy it makes me sick, they almost kicked me out because I chalked my hands before my 405 deadlift.. F$$CKING losers can't they mind there own business!
I would kill to have a ring in my gym(s). They use to have one in Ballys fitness (nj). But ayway the day of good gyms are dying to big commercial baywatch gyms unfortunatley. Even golds has gone down hill.
There is one good gym in huntersville nc if you happen to live in the area. elite fitness. They still have chalk, boards with maxes, ect. No pussies allowed unless it is an actual pussy.
what powerhouse gym do you do go too? thats what the gym I go to is called but doubt its the same one

Yeah there are a couple huge un rented Industrial spaces over by me to that would be perfect. Unfortunately the only one who took advantage of that is crossfit place snagged one of them up
I would use a cross fit gym if they were open - but it is the time slots and group thing. I prefer to work alone. Then they close on the weekends ! one open slot at 10 am sat... I just could not deal with the group workouts and the time slots. The cross fit gyms I like..
yeah same with the ones out here, I don't like having to come at a certain time or working in a large group either.
They do have pretty badass setups tho, its just expensive as hell

Arnold said in his book "Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding" the gym is your church/sanctuary, no tv, no distractions just you and the weights, because your going into battle, something in those terms (I would cite it but forgot what page,read it last year) and you must tell your mind im gone win. i got 2 months left on my contract and im going to my garage.do the same GYMRAT
Somebody should start a thread of the more hardcore gyms or at least gyms that have more of "our kind."
I've gotten the "you're gonna break the bearings in the bar" speech atleast 3 times at my gym back home......by the same faggot. I think HES the one whose intimidated. Its starting to piss me off more everyday and me being on test isn't helping it any.

cycoI was in my gym yesterday morning,and i see the employees doing something to the mirrors,so after they got done i seen some green letters. i walk up,and guess what i see,there is no grunting,chalk,dropping wghts,etc etc,i think my gym is being bought out by planet fitness cuz there even painting the borders green,i need to get out of there sooner than later..
haha yeah dude thats such bullshit, they put signs everywhere in mine to saying chalk is now banned

We need more Metro Flex type gyms, a damn warehouse with heavy ass weights in it. Loud hardcore rap and metal blasting all day to keep you pumped. Depending on the time of the day, my Golds is like a PF, it's a damn shame.
fortunately my high school gym was like that cause all our coaches were old school powerlifters. i didn't appreciate it as much then but damn how much I would like to go back in there and kill the squat rack. There were NO smith machines and no air conditioning. Fuck is there air conditioning in the gym for?
Yeah you got that right, I saw one of those Metro Flex Gyms down in Texas and those are real badass, we dont have anything like that tho up in the Midwest its pathetic

Yeah I'm here in Texas and whenever I head home to visit my family from college I try and hit up metroflex. Nothing like lifting there, its Branch Warren tested and approved!! I hardly break a sweat at Golds anymore, its a mixture of waiting on the d bags up there, that are too busy trying to look pretty to lift, to get the hell off the machine or bench.. and the ac being set on 70.

I think I pay like 17 bucks a month because I've been there for a while, I know none of those gyms make any money off guys like us because were there everyday and we use the shit out of the equipment, but don't try to convert it into a damn fitness center
