Should I tell my doctor about my cycle, blood work, how often, etc?

Never really thought about it before, buts seems like a good idea to me. What do the pros do/think. I appreciate any and all input. Cheers~

True Story, I just wen to a new doctor yesterday. I should have interviewed his ass before going to him. This fool turned out to be a jesus freak.
For one, he did not condone my occasional drink of wild turkey 101 mixed with a little ginger.
2. He dissaproved of me jacking off in a cup to have my sperm tested. Trying to have a baby. I needed my wife present to have intercourse and then spew in the cup. Jerking off is sinful.
3. Today I got a call from his nurse telling me "How dare I try to procreate on steroids. My test level is 4x the normal level. You are sinning against your body. People die from that. Your blood test confirm it, blah blah blah.
WTF?
So the lesson learned is there are cool docs and stupid fucks. I happen to pick the latter...So know your docs mentality before telling him anything. I did have a cool doc in urgent care recently that told me he would do steroids if he could get his mits on them. He did not charge me for checkiong out my swollen calf after injection. I would have made him my doc if he was not urgent care.
That guy and his staff need to keep their opinions to themselves... just my opinion.
None of his f - in business. I personally have not been telling my doc. I think he is super cool but I am dodging all that. Potential for problems...
Anonit isn't up to your or anyone's for that matter to lecture you based on their own personal belief system.. If I want a lecture I can hit up the local church pastor or even go tell my sister that I am using gear.. I m sure she would do a bang up job .. my doctor is paid to advise me on health issues that I ASK about.. doctors are in the business of treating diseases and perpetuating the disease model.. they can all go jump in a lake..
I am laughing to myself about the whole ordeal as I sip wild turkey and jerk off with my other hand. And I have the collection sample cup ready. Gonna fill that bitch up. LOL!!!!
I like the way you think - double snap
( shamelessly stolen from TM )
AnonI don't think he'd mind although he may try to charge you some sort of royalty fee or some such..
I would have walked out. I have zero tolerance for BS. I'm paying you....you STFU. I'm not asking whether your religion sanctifies my behavior you f**king muppet.
My Doc was a full bird Colonel in the Army. Was a professor of medicine at a top medical school....and he didn't even ask me....he told me, "Clearly you're on steroids. Good stuff by the looks of it. Just be careful. If your blood pressure gets too high I'd taper back on what your taking. It's a good idea to go off every once and a while too...Just be safe. Use clean needles."
I was like O_o
I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Ask about credentials next time? Maybe ask if they have a sports injury background? They might be more receptive to what you are doing.
Who's your doc, L. Ron Hubbard?
Might have as well been. How dare they criticize my wild turkey drinking.
AnonI don't know how you can drink that shit but I guess after drinking some home brew.. wild turkey goes down like patron..
Anonsounds like it is.. lmao..
My doctor told me to get on roids...I told him i was about to supplement HGH and he flat out told me...do the roids instead...after almost an hour conversation the cat was let out of the bag that he used to be a strength and conditioning coach for a major university (not gonna say which one, but believe me, MAJOR) so i took his advice and I'm up to a solid 248 lbs. Thanks doc
TxBigBoyLemme guess, the U?
Definately a U, not THE U
I tell my Dr everything and I think keeping anything from you Dr is bad news. I know. Health ins and life insurance, blablaba which means more to your family your life or your life insurance?
tread-mActually they both mean a great deal, its not either or. They don't learn these things in medical school, health is not the goal of medicine. The entire medical community thrives on disease and treatments of disease, not on health and prevention of disease. There is no money in preventing you from being sick and there is no money in keeping you healthy. They do general blood work and bp etc so they know which drugs they can get you addicted to. My daughter is a medical lab scientist and has to explain anything more complicated than cholesterol levels to the physicians....If you want to share your gear with a Doctor it should at least be a sports Doc specializing in health and nutrition or someone trained in the area. They would mostly tell you " oh you cant be doing that its bad for you " with no other explanation. Which translated means, "I dont know jack shit about any of that because I never learned it, I just saw a piece on 20/20 talking about how bad it is though so I'm an expert". Not knocking the Doctors but they should stick to the things the learned. A few years ago I went to my GP with a very red eye, he looked me over and diagnosed me and sent me home with drops....2 weeks later I'm in an eye surgeons office finding out that I nearly went blind and the surgeon said , "dont ever go to a general practitioner for your eyes, they dont learn eyes or much of anything else outside of general illness. Always see someone specializing in the specific problem. You were a weak from being blind in one eye because the only thing your GP knows about redness of the eye is pink eye and therefore everyone with a little red in their eye has it in their opinion". About 6 weeks later I could finally go back out in the sun without Grandma glasses. Just saying, these folks don't know much at all about endocrinology so the discussion with them about it is one that will serve no purpose and you still may get screwed on all your insurance costs and who knows what else. Now if your Doc is an endocrinologist then I stand corrected.
I guess I am really lucky to have a great Dr., she actually looked into what I was doing and did a little research for me. She watches me and makes sure I get my blood work done when I am on a cycle (I have to pay for the lab work out of pocket) but I guess not all Dr's are not as understanding or willing. I would ask around and find a Dr that will work with you.
tread-mYeah you're lucky for sure. These Doctors have become farmers in that most of them farm you in and out and take your cash. I showed up for my 2 oclock dental appointment yesterday and my dentist works by himself, no partners....There were about 15 of us in the waiting room and seems everyone had a 2 oclock! So we start getting lined up like cattle in probably about 20 rooms given many were already there and people still coming. This guy bounced from room to room checking on his cattle and crops and we get moved too...I start in one room for check up, go to another room for x-ray and then back to original room only to later go to another room for my root canal. Now dont get me wrong, this guy had his shit together managing that many patients and I think I was in and out in 3 hours so happy about that. The point is I had maybe 10 words with the dentist.....I was thinking to myself, if Jennifer Anniston walks through that door and sprays me in the weiner with some water its on! Its really the only thing that made it a manageable experience is I had just seen that movie. Anyway, yes you have a great Doc Migg, not common.
sgtstedankoThat depends on who in my family, and when you ask:) Honestly that is my gut feeling as well. Thanks for your input.~
tread-mDepends on your relationship with your Doctor. I do not want those things on my medical history due to life insurance, insurance....who knows all the ramifications with the health care industry and all of its changes! I do have a cousin who goes to a sports Doctor and the sports Doc actually helps him with his cycles etc all off record. I have a brother who admitted to it to his Doc "off the record" and while the anus agreed it was confidential it showed up next time he went for his life insurance renewal. I don't know your age and that may not mean anything to you now but something to think about. Down the road they could even use it as pre-existing condition for disqualification on health insurance or even get into your medical history and become an issue for future employment and on and on.....it sounds crazy but look around you, everything is crazy! If you live in the USA you know what I mean! personally I would stick with a private lab for my blood work and my Doc for my general medical issues...keep it separate!
AnonI agree with you somewhat tread. I pay cash for my doctors apt's and cash for my labs. So nothing is reported to the insurance company and quite frankly the visits and labs don't exist. I know that it is difficult to do but I learned my lesson after having post partum depression (for you ignoramuses out there, that means my hormones were way out of whack after having a baby) and the doctor wrote down depression it has followed me every where and even affected my disability insurance.
tread-mYeah the insurance companies see depression and all they see is a life filled with medication, disease and death. They never stop to think, "she had another human being crawl out of her, maybe she just needs a little time to be perfect again!" lol
AnonWhen I found out I wanted to rip the Doctor a new A** because I ll never be able to get rid of it. I'd like to tell my new Doc but I am not certain how she will be about it. I don't feel listening to lectures about how bad this is ... etc.. If I wanted that I would tell my sister and get the lecture for free.
tread-mhaha...right, no co-pay either! Welll and my point above is that all the medical community has been linking everything over the last 5 years like one big google hit with your name...I remember when mine linked in a few years back because that visit took about 30 minutes to help him upload all the q&a . Its great in that it stops Doc shopping for meds and if I'm in a car wreck and unconscious they know what I can and can't have and know everything I'm on. But what if mistakes are entered or reality of depression such as your temporary depression ends up looking like a life long disorder etc..you can never get those out of the system you know....once something hits the net its there forever, even if you remove it its stored somewhere else! Thing is we dont know where all of this is going in the next year muchless the next decade and I just dont want my personal experiments being listed on my mark of the beast stamp here in Net world ! Hell employers facebook you now! Thank God I dont have a footprint there too!
sgtstedankoI think I have a good relationship w/my Dr. but you're prob right separate is best. Your cousins a lucky man, I miss that. Now, I just read, read, read. And always end up w/more questions than answers. Thanks again.
