I believe that Alcoholics Anonymous stands alone in the treatment of alcoholism because it is based solely on the principle of one alcoholic sharing with another alcoholic. This is what makes the program unique. When I decided that I wanted to stay sober, I called a woman who I knew was a sober member of A.A., and she carried the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to me. She received no monetary compensation, but rather was paid by staying sober another day herself. Today I could ask for no payment other than another day free from alcohol, so in that respect, I am generously paid for my labor.

Me and my new sponsor were talking about sponsorship and the time sacrificed to help another. That the only compensation we get for helping another alcoholic is one more day. We happened to be breaking down there's a solution which I believe brings this up in different words? But when the greatest feeling we can ever experience is helping and seeing another once desperate addict grow and begin to find a piece of mind like ourselves,,,the spiritual moment/ clarity and another day are priceless. Anyways thanks for the posts!!

I wanted to thank u for taking 5mims out of ur life to post this.
It means a lot to me as well as others who are reading this but aren’t sharing or speaking up for whatever reason.
Over this next week things will be changing around here for the better.
I’m talking with a few of my close guys in here about what & how we’re gonna run this . This isn’t like any other group . Forums etc..
We’re dealt with peoples lives& if guys can’t post, share or comment at least once a week they’re getting removed.
Only the serious ones will be here getting deep into the pain, spiritually, gratitude, humility etc..
Lmk if ur down and willing to post or share at least once a week.
